Earlier today a caller on one of the morning shows suggested that yesterday was karma for Popcorn Guy.  Apparently the Embiid scare + Ben's FT woes + the plane delay were the basketball Gods making us pay our dues to even out the behavior of Popcorn Guy.

defensively you would’ve had a much better time stopping the wizards when they kept fouling Ben. After Ben missed his free throws the wizards scored on all their possessions because of the mismatches they had on the floor defensively. Specifically they targeted curry and korkmaz and isolated them on beal or westbrook. So Ben going 1-2 every time was bad and it was compounded by the wizards scoring 6 points after those shots because korkmaz and curry are liabilities on defense. If you are gonna keep Ben in the game and have this go on then you need better defense to keep the wizards off the board  

Also last 3 mins of that game there’s no reason to have both korkmaz and curry in that game because they basically found ways to iso both of them and then found the open man as help came for both. Especially not when maxey and hill had been good offensively (as good as korkmaz and curry) and are better defenders than both. 

It's exponentially retarded that this discussion is even being had - shooting FTs is like one of the first things you learn in basketball.  25% from the line on 20 shots is horrendous.

The fact he actually has declined from last year to this year in his FT shooting even though he had like a 3 week stretch of shooting 73ish percent is not good. He should be at least somewhat improving year to year even if it’s just a small uptick each year. Instead he went down from 62 to 61. And really the last month including playoffs it’s gotten worse.  Since March 20 he's 67-134 which is exactly 50%

I literally just went outside to my court, shot 20 free throws in flip flops, hit 11 out of 20.  I mean a professional athlete almost CAN'T go 0-10 and then 5-20.

0-10 is almost unreal. I really don't know what more you can say.

kinda makes sense not to announce anything until the last minute possible. Washington doesnt know to prepare for Embiid or not. 

 

In the back of my mind though, Im thinking, if you have Embiid,  you dont need gamesmanship to close out this series. You can tell Washington he is playing, and they still cant stop him. Makes me think hes not.

That has been suggested for decades for bad free throw shooters. These guys rather miss all their free throws then look like a dork unfortunately
