I mean, what were the results of the MRI?

He’s alive.

Crap

I think the fact that he isn't on crutches is good - that looks like a sleeve you could buy at the pharmacy

Exactly.  No crutches and no real brace.  Combine that with the fact that he played after the fall and then walked back to the locker room on his own power...he'll be fine.

Tomorrow night is Tobi Time!  :flex:

Unfortunately Doc will probably play Mike Scott over 20 minutes just to keep the game interesting.  <_<

Honestly....I'd start Reed, leave Scott way down the bench and then bring in Howard with the second unit.

I’d have just left Scott in DC.

Are they expecting the team to play better if they prepare without embiid? Because after he left last night they were atrocious, I can't imagine why they would hold him out if it wasn't a concern at all.

Yeah. But anytime he gets hurt it's a concern. They are atrocious when teams take him away as well, so without him on the court it wasn't shocking. If they aren't in "Foles Mode" where everything is going right they will have issues.

I honestly don't know how there can be any optimism around Embiid. He didn't even make it out of the first round.

yep.

He and Ben both made the case to be traded, on the same night.

You cant build around either of these guys.

Lets not forget how many games late in the season Embiid only had to play like 3 quarters. Lets also not forget how this series has weirdly had 3 days of rest between games which is unusually a lot. And also remember that in these playoff games, he has only had to play 2-3 quarters.

He has been incredibly well rested. He is in the best shape he has bee in since his rookie year (was still thinner then, but this is the best since then) And yet.... still an injury.

You’ve lost your mind.  I’m sorry

thats ok. Youve been coming in here defending Ben Simmons every night lately so I disregard your opinion.

I dont think Embiid is going to get traded. I dont even think Morey and Doc will consider it. Im just saying, and have said previously I wouldnt care if he did.

I do think Morey will have a deal or a few worked out for Ben, and I think Doc will veto it.

And we will re-watch this movie yet again next season.

This is a Skip Bayless hot take and a horrible one at that.

AD is just as injury prone, it happens when you are 7' foot and move and cut like they do.

You will NEVER get value for Joel, a waste of time to even think about. Ben you can.

Ive stood by it for years. There is no value in an MVP caliber season that always results in a season ending injury. I dont care so much about perceived value. I prefer players who you can rely on to be on the court when it matters.

I dont care about AD either. Yes, he is injury prone. But his team did get good value for him.

Also, I know its a waste of time to think about. It wont happen. We all know that. But... it probably should.

So I guess we need a LeBron James type player to win anything then.

They got him but he doesn't care to get better at his craft. Rather play video games

I hear what you are saying. On one hand he's one of the best in the league and I can't seem them trading him. On the other he's always hurt and he is 27, which isn't old, but in 3 years things start to fall apart for most players who aren't 7 feet. Not great odds with his injury history.

The sad reality is the window is probably 3 years or less. I don't see a good trade of equal value for the 76ers though.

He’s right.  He’s been saying it about Ben for years.   I’ve been saying it about Joel for years.  We were both right.  Joel is great.  Actually I think he’s currently the best player in the NBA, when healthy.  But you can’t trust him to stay healthy.  And you don’t build around a big man with bad wheels.

You can’t trade Joel. You won’t get back the same value. You roll the dice with his injury history and hope you get 3 more years of being a top 5 player. You trade Ben for someone like Dame if he becomes available. Someone who can score 30+ on their own and can carry a team when Joel needs rest/is injured.

The reactionary hot takes in here are something else.

they lost 1 playoff game after having a great regular season and getting the #1 seed....so i think they should trade their 2 franchise players and start all over.

Finally a rational thought.  Process 2.0 needs to begin.
