they lost 1 playoff game after having a great regular season and getting the #1 seed....so i think they should trade their 2 franchise players and start all over.

Let's revisit this statement midway through/after the ECF, shall we?

The Embiid trade talk is just dumb. Talk about going back to losing for another decade.

Agreed.  I was just making a point for the people who think that Ben in the playoffs will be fine. Eventually, between his lack of offense and terrible free throw shooting, he is going to cost us a game or 2.  When we play the Bucks/Nets, most games will be 5-10 point margins.  Ben is a guy who needs confidence.  He can't shake off poor free throw shooting and then all of a sudden go 6 for 8.  Of course it doesn't matter when you are playing the 8 seed.

Trading Embiid would be idiotic. Yes his injuries are a concern, but he’s a top 5 player in the league when healthy. Unless you can trade him for another top 5 player (not happening) then you’re better off riding out these next 2-3 years where he’s still a top player and just roll the dice that he can stay healthy through the playoffs, or at least only miss a game or two.

If you trade him, you’re basically settling for going back to being a mediocre team for several years where you’re fighting for a late playoff seed just to be bounced in round 1. You know, where they were before "the process” began.

Finally a rational thought.  Process 2.0 needs to begin.

build around maxey, thuybille, paul reed and some of the classic processors who are still active.  canaan-ball, hollis thompson, jakaar sampson...the process goats! :worthy:

thats ok. Youve been coming in here defending Ben Simmons every night lately so I disregard your opinion.

You basically said the runner up MVP you can’t build a team around disregarding the fact they are the top seed in the east about to move on to second round.  I think we know whose posts to disregard 🤣

some people on here…..

Ive stood by it for years. There is no value in an MVP caliber season that always results in a season ending injury. I dont care so much about perceived value. I prefer players who you can rely on to be on the court when it matters.

I dont care about AD either. Yes, he is injury prone. But his team did get good value for him.

Also, I know its a waste of time to think about. It wont happen. We all know that. But... it probably should.

Has he just had a season ending injury?  I didn’t hear that anywhere

this

ben is a different story, imo. flipping ben for a guy like beal would really open up the offense & take a lot of the scoring pressure off of jojo.  they'd lose a lot on defense but that would be the case in any ben trade.

Even doc Rivers laughs at silly fans that think Ben is terrible. You guys just keep on hating all you want everyone in the league knows Ben is an elite player.

I don’t have a problem with flipping Ben for Beal, but that isn’t going to happen.

You forgot the greatest processors of all time...Jerami Grant, Roco and TJ McConnel!  I say we get the band back together.  Maybe even get Vegan Jah and Noel, too.

i agree that it won't.  the wiz would never consider that. but ben for a beal type scoring guard is something that could be worth exploring...especially if mattise can step up and take over as the defensive stopper.

they'd win too many games with those guys. :nonono:   no ish either!  👎

Fine, we'll exclude the functional players if and only if we can get Zhaire Smith back.

Anyone with half a brain cell thinks they will make the ECF.  Did you see how easy our path was/is?  Making the ECF in this manner is nothing to be proud of.  They earned the #1 seed in the regular season but losing in the ECF this year is an epic fail.

so if they lose in the ECF to a team that bought their way to the finals with 3 of the top players in the NBA of all time, that is an epic fail?

do you think they'd be favored against the nets? how about against the bucks?

idk, man. i'd consider the sixers underdogs against brooklyn....and a series against the bucks would be a tossup. not sure losing to either would be an "epic fail" unless they completely crapped the bed & got swept or something.

He's not elite. Good....not even close to elite.

They're probably still going to win the series.  Embiid might come back and they might win the finals.

And even then,  relying on him for the next season is still a risky proposition.

Any time they decide his injuries are too much I'll be fine with it.

I don't think the Sixers will be favorites.  What I am saying is, in the grand scheme of things, when we barely have to fight to get to the ECF and with all the rest time they have had between the end of the season and between the playoff games, it will look like a fail.  The other two teams will have fought hard and used energy to there.  We will have home court advantage with a full crowd where over the last few seasons, we were #1 at home.  If Joel is the best players in the NBA and Ben doesn't totally $hit his pants, we can take that series.

Maxey as the lead guard, get a CJ McCollum type, and Thybulle learns to shoot a corner 3

So much of our future hinges on this.  We are much further ahead if he gets his 3 point shooting to league average.  Otherwise, we just have a defensive specialist.

Team takes another level if he can get 37%

I know this pains you too.  Watching Bridges play valuable minutes in the playoffs for the Suns is painful.  I wonder what Zhaire Smith is up to these days?  We even picked the right guy.  Just couldn't hold on to him.  He was traded during his intro interview for the Sixers.
