Didn't we get Maxey because of that trade?  Or am I mixing things up?

Bridges was drafted 3 years ago.  Maxey is a rookie.  We got Zhaire out of the league Smith.

there have been plenty of draft fails from the process until now. drafting jah when they already had 2 centers in noel & jojo. giving up so much for fultz. trading bridges for zhaire.  those are the 3 most glaring, imo.

Right, we got Zhaire and a future 1st round pick, who did we pick with that 1st rounder?  And...I'm just trying to minimize the absolute f up it was lol

You can't, it was a total F up. Mikal is an absolute monster as a 3rd guy and all the advanced stats love him. His WAR is almost 8 games

What the F?

To me that says, he is waiting for Coach K to retire and he heads to Duke for his dream job.

They dealt the unprotected Miami first with Shamet to get Harris.

I know this pains you too.  Watching Bridges play valuable minutes in the playoffs for the Suns is painful.  I wonder what Zhaire Smith is up to these days?  We even picked the right guy.  Just couldn't hold on to him.  He was traded during his intro interview for the Sixers.

I wanted Michael porter Jr. at 10 it’s not very often you get the chance at the player who was projected to go top 2 if not for a back problem. I was completely willing to take the risk at 10 knowing he eventually could become a Star if he was healthy. It was worth the gamble imo.

Thank you!  So.....in other words, would you prefer Harris or Bridges?

So Ainge had a ton of assets and wonder boy as the head coach. He wasted all the assets he had and is left with an average team before he 'retires'.

Meanwhile Stevens has struggled dealing with superstars and locker room drama. Now he doesn't want to get stuck coaching the ishy team and rather than firing both they move him into a front office role so it doesn't look like a total disaster. Their fans are now known as the racists and they threw a bottle at Kyrie as he was exiting the floor.

Just saying Noah in his prime years was considered an elite defender. And around the league draymond is known as one of the best defenders in the league.

that said doesn’t matter. The issue is Ben needs to become a 70-75% FT. Ive accepted Hes just not going to shoot midrange jumpers or threes. Maybe he does one day but i don’t see it anytime soon. He needs to become a better FT. It’s ridiculous that he’s actually gotten worse from last year to this year. The fact of the matter is if he could get his FT% up to 70-75 then you’d likely see him be much more aggressive consistently on the offensive end. He’s good enough to go 5-8 from the floor and if he had more confidence in his FT he could easily get to the line 10-12 times per game with his athleticism and ability. Think if he scored 5 baskets on layups, dunks or hook shot and went 9-12 from the line thats 19 points. No one would be saying anything about his non-shooting cause he would be close to a 20 ppg scorer. Ive said this a ton of times it’s his FT shooting being as bad as it is that irritates me way more than his non-shooting.

Maxey as the lead guard, get a CJ McCollum type, and Thybulle learns to shoot a corner 3

he's about the caliber of player i think they could get in a ben trade...very good but not quite all star caliber & a little older.

It's Fing hilarious that Sixers just accept Ben won't shoot. 33,35,37,40 million over the next four years for a dude that doesn't shoot and really doesn't impact the game on the defensive end like Rudy.

He is either committed to shooting the 3 ball or Sixers need to ship him out asap.

I think we should draft a guy next year who refuses to dribble.  A lineup of that guy and Ben would be dominant!

I don’t think it’s accepting as much as you aren’t going to just deal him to deal. They’ve shown they aren’t tradin to just trade him to get rid of him. That’s the bigger issue. People on here want to just deal him for anything just to get rid of him. That to me is just dumb. It’s how you make a bad trade that hurts you long term. If someone like lillard becomes available or someone who can put the sixers over the top then go ahead and do it. At this point harden was about the only player you’d have considered trading him for. Kawhi was never going to happen cause they weren’t risking one year and bolting. No offense i don’t think jrue holiday was putting the sixers over if you made that deal.

Call it accepting but we’ve seen hes not going too and they won’t deal him just for anything. Tbh I’m more irritated that his FT percentage hasn’t gotten better. That’s an easy improvement he should have year to year and would easily add about 4-6 points per game if he became just a 70-75 percent shooter

I view this argument the same way as I view the "he's the franchise <insert posion in any sport> and is being paid like one so therefore he must start" argument.

All that should matter is if the team would be better with or without him and who could be there reasonably as a replacement. The return you get for somebody, obviously, should be maximized but that's all secondary. The first concern is min/maxing the squad you throw on the court.

according to WebEmbiid, he'll be out for 6 years!

sign jakaar sampson!

It makes sense now why the MRI results didn’t come out yesterday. This is not good. They 100% need to win tonight so that they can rest his knee.

JFC.  Talk about overreacting.   No one is saying to trade Embiid.  For F sakes.  Just saying not to expect long term success with he and Ben.  Embiid has matured but injuries are still a major issue and won’t get any better as he ages.  Ben refuses to work on his game and his lack of self awareness or concern is going to cost this team.

That said.  Tonight screams blow out to me.  With it without Embiid.   Packed house.  And Ben has been under fire the past 24 hours.  He usually comes out smoking in situations like this.  I fully expect him to be all over the court tonight.

At this moment the team as currently constructed would not be better without Ben Simmons. You remove him they get worse defensively. That’s not even a discussion at this point. This current team without Simmons isn’t winning anything and ditto with embiid. This isn’t a defend Ben Simmons but reality tells you they aren’t winning crap this year if embiid or Simmons in the lineup

And who are you going to reasonably replace him with? You aren’t going to just go out in the free agency with no cap space because of Tobias Harris and embiid’s contracts and just sign a star player nor get one too just want to come to Philadelphia. We tried that it didn’t work. So you’re going to have to make a trade with Ben Simmons to get that guy. Jrue holiday might be a better fit but that’s not making you better than the Nets imo or the bucks who would’ve made a counter move. So now you’re just in the same position of being over the top but minus your best asset to make a trade to get someone like a Damian Lillard if they become available. If we traded ben Simmons like everybody wanted to two years ago because he was gonna go to LA and  not sign his second contract with the sixers they would have no chance at James Harden this year. This is why you don’t just make a move to make a move. You make the move if the right player becomes available and you use that asset to cash in. Please don’t give me Zach Lavine as a player you’d trade for. There’s a reason why his teams with the bulls have finished below .500 every year and miss the playoffs. He’s a great scorer/shooter but gives next to nothing else. I like Lavine if you managed to keep embiid, harris and Simmons. But as your no. 2 i don’t see him elevating you to where you want to go.
