He had 13/7/7 and I said early in the 3rd quarter we had a Harris triple double watch.

So yeah.... for the 2nd half he had like 2 or 4 points, and 1 rebound and an assist.

He disappeared.

That’s his MO. He’s an extremely overpaid space cadet stat padder. There is a reason why he had been traded many times before he made his way to the 76ers.

Been saying that since he got to the sixers but, no some wanted to say he gets better every year.... No better teams and organizations realized he is just an empty stat stuffer

Rebounding is all about effort and instinct no matter how tall you are. Kind of like defense.

Thanks?  I was talking about boxing out, a basketball fundamental that every child is taught before they're 10 years old.  That doesn't really require tons of effort, but it at least prohibits a player from the other team from getting in front of you for the rebound.  That simple fundamental would have helped the Sixers immensely tonight.

On a similar topic, so would have 2 #1 overall draft picks that could and would shoot a basketball, which is also something you're taught before you're 10 years old.  It's still painful to type that.

Well that's what I mean by effort. Boxing out is a simple fundamental that is taught at an early age. So when you are not doing it at at a pro level it's a lack of effort. Like you said it doesn't take a ton of effort.... So that means they won't even give that much. So again effort

But... he was supposed to be the 3rd option (or 2nd if you rightfully gave up on Simmons).

Embiid also pulled a disappearing act tonight despite his nice point and rebound totals.

Like I said during the game, no one stepped up to try to take this one over.

Burks took a  bunch of shots, but he didnt have a great shooting night. No one else even tried.

Sounds like the usual

Jim Lynam is a leprechaun.  Oh and fire BB.  Celtics are so much more clean/crisp on pnr, plays and player movement.  BB teams have been sloppy his whole 8 years.

Its frustrating.

The 6ers have an area of their practice court specially marked to show where you need to be getting to for rebounds, and where to keep opponents out of. (I did see Thybulle fighting for position a few times tonight)

Brown seemed a bit more hesitant to reveal the reasoning behind the arc, which is driven out of the volume of threes that are taken in the NBA game and where a miss winds up after a perimeter shot.

"Where do the highest volume of three-point misses occur?" Brown said. "After we came up with that measurement, we painted the line. Within that arc, that's where the highest volume of misses occur (on three-point shots).

"It’s a stupid number, pick it, five million three-point shots studied. That (pointing to the space within the arc) is where misses occur.”

Again, the purpose is two-fold.

"We are trying to, offensively, get into this area," Brown said, "and defensively trying to keep people out of this area.”

By doing so, offensively, the Sixers are able to determine where most shots land after long misses, which in theory, should also produce more offensive rebounds. Defensively, you try to keep your opponents out of that area when a three-pointer goes up, which in theory, should produce more defensive rebounds.

Its hard to watch that post-game show because he really is hard to look at. Almost nauseatingly ugly with that beard.

Exactly and while rebounding is to a larger extent effort and willingness it does take some instinct as well. Which also none of our players seem to have. I used to out rebound guys twice my size because I could see the trajectory of the ball and where it would go once it hit the rim that isn't natural for everyone but the majority of it is just willingness to box out anyone behind you so you can get a clean rebound which our guys also don't want to do consistently.

Imagine if they put half the effort into shooting 3 pt shots as they have into rebounding them.

They just don't have pure shooters on the team being a good shooter is more of a skill and can't be forced on a team that has none.

Kenny Atkinson got a bunch of no names and even Dlo to play hard. He was only fired because Irving didn't like how Jarrett a Allen was getting minutes over DeAndre. He would be my first call

yeah, the only bright side to yesterday's loss is that brett is being called out more & more.  embiid's lack of touches during crunch time was ridiculous & that's just one example.

BB probably should have made this adjustment a little sooner.  Kinda how he talked about starting him.  Jrich sucked and brought nothing to the table besides falling over while dribbling.  He should be coming off the bench at this point.

sixers wings & guards just aren't talented enough. kemba, brown, & tatum are all way better than any guard/wing the sixers can throw out there.

i'm ready for the season to be over...but i am worried that they'll use ben's injury as an excuse to not make any major moves...and then you have an abbreviated off-season to deal with.

if losing to boston gets brett replaced,  it's worth it.   still sheety to watch though.

They’ll use Simmons injury as an excuse to keep Brown another year.

They hardly even run any plays. Everyone just wanders around until someone jacks up a contested 3. I used to think Eddie Jordan was the worst coach in philly sports history, but this team looks as poorly coached as that one.

important offseason dates:

September 30 - NBA Finals begin

October 6 - Deadline for early entrants to withdraw from NBA Draft (including international players)

October 16 - 2020 NBA Draft

October 17 - Deadline for player, team and early termination options; deadline for qualifying offers extended to restricted free agents

October 18 - NBA free agency negotiating period begins (4 p.m. ET)

October 19 - Official start of league year; restricted free agents can sign offer sheets; teams can sign rookies, league minimum and two-way deals; rookie options can be exercised

October 23 - NBA free agency signing period begins (10 a.m. ET); teams can sign and extend players, plus complete trades; restricted free agent offer sheets can be matched

November 10 - Training camp opens

December 1 - 2020-21 NBA season begins

it would be difficult to make any major changes with that schedule, imo.

dribble hand-offs with embiid setting screens for alec burks 25 feet away from the basket...that's what they did during crunch time.

He thinks he has Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.  Seriously he's just not a good coach.  Good guy, positive, blah, blah, blah, but a sheety coach.

Hayward is now out weeks with an ankle sprain.

Watch the 6ers pull this one out and retain Brett because of an injury break.

I don't think Hayward moves the needle that much.
