I’m super concerned about this series. If embiid can’t be close to what he was this year and misses games in this series due to swelling or pain i don’t think they win this series. It’s one thing to beat a wizards team that plays no defense it’s another against atlanta who’s been terrific since March 1, can score and have really blossomed on the defensive end. I love the sixers but realistically i think if embiid isn’t available for games or isn’t close to the embiid we’ve grown accustomed too, imo it’s not gonna end well. 

yeah, trae's gonna drive & score or drive & dish at will if jojo isn't there to protect the rim.  capela will get a lot of oop dunks if jo is out...or playing but not really at 100%. 

gonna be a tough series.

The only reason I know this piece of information is because I have a friend who works as a beat writer for the Suns and a bunch of coaches/works in the university of Arizona athletics department and both said the same thing to me, besides Ayton being a wildcat (sarver the owner Arizona alum) that they didn’t go Luka was the concern that he would plateau due to not keeping himself in shape.  they used his last year leading into that draft as an example of it to go with ayton. As good as ayton is can can be, I’d still go Luka over him in a heartbeat. He’s going to be an all time. If you put him and Booker together and then just got some quality bigs in FA or eventually trade for one that team is ridiculous. 

Luka just had too much film on him because he was playing at the highest European lvl at what, 17? It really isn't a competition Ayton maybe makes an All Star team or two and Luka is one of the greatest ever. Kings really Fed it up, dope Vlade.

And really vlade should’ve known considering where Luka was playing. I have always said Luka got the Deshaun watson treatment. Watson had so much tape on him coming out and his last year had more turnovers until he just turned it on in that playoff. Him being at Clemson that long and having that much tape got used against him. I still can’t believe Trubisky still went that high and watson basically destroyed bama  

Honestly...does it even freaking matter at this point?  Even if we Gump our way past the Hawks, without a 100% Embiid, we aren't beating the Bucks or Nets.  Even with a 100% Embiid it would be tough to do so.......this sucks!

Embiid did individual drills in practice and like good. 

Doc says it's too early to say if he is playing on Sunday.

Actually, lmao it kind of did but that was years ago!!  I was more just thinking about crappy things....It's ok, replaced her with someone 20 years younger, bought a bigger house and got two new dogs.......and Covid only sucked for 4 days and was fine after.

Before we go all negative how about we wait and see what actually happens with Embiid? A "small tear” is very vague. It could literally be a tiny 2mm tear in a spot that doesn’t hinder him at all other than a bit of soreness to deal with.  

Seeing a rumor of Embiid cleared to play Sunday on a 25-30 minute restriction.

If I was the the Sixers I would send him over to Germany to get some Regenokine because he has had injuries to both knees now. Then send him down to Columbia and get stem cells. 

 

 

I think they’d be wise to sit him game 1, giving him another 5 full days to heal as much as he can and still make an impact in the series.

If he’s good to go you cannot sit him game 1. The Hawks have been one of the best teams in the NBA for the past 3ish months. You cannot just lay down and give them game 1.

I don't think anyone wants to do that. It's just a matter of giving Embiid more time to heal a bit so he isn't playing favoring that injury as much. To many big guys playing with injuries to their legs leads to more serious injuries that could end playing next year.

Short of a follow up MRI showing absolutely no sign of a tear anymore, there’s no way of knowing if he’s truly ‘’good to go’’. Roll the dice, maybe it works out, maybe it costs you even more games on the back end. The only thing that will help at this point is time, and 5 more days is better than 1 more day.

Realistically though will 5 days really matter that much? I have no clue when it comes to those things, but I'd think outside of a month or two of rest it's not going to heal. He's just going to have to deal with it. Honestly, they probably aren't winning this year anyway, so it may not matter. I'll stand by that until Simmons stops being useless on the offensive end.

I'm almost to the point where I don't think they will ever win anything with Embiid either because he is always hurt at the wrong times. It doesn't matter how good he is if he's hobbled or out when it matters. People won't like this, but he's 27 and it's only going to get worse. That's reality not being negative. It doesn't get better for players with injury histories as they get closer to 30.

He doesn't have 5 days.  The game is tomorrow. To important to miss.
