I don’t think Giannis purposefully meant to injure him. However he knows the rule is you have to allow a player space to land. There was no way Kyrie in the air was going to be able too as he ran up and put his foot into the space to land as he came down. The rule is what it is. We’ve seen the nba call defenders for flagrants and fouls so far this postseason when a guy takes a jumper, is jumping forward and the defender doesn’t move and the shooter lands on his foot. This exact type of play happened to the suns earlier this year with booker. Booker didn’t get hurt but it was ruled a foul.

Tucker was excellent on KD.  Tucker was really physical causing KD to go 9-25.  Ben can obviously do everything that Tucker can do but can he do it without racking up fouls that put him on the bench?

When people make the comparison of Simmons = taller Rondo...

Simmons is about half a productive as prime Rondo was. And Rondo didn't get all of his assists by granny underhand passes with his back to the basket after picking up his dribble. Rondo got real PG assists by finding or creating angles.

Here how Atlanta is feeling heading in to today's game

Fouled him 53 times in the 3rd, KD just doesn't flop around.

Sixers play the Bucks then an easy series win in 6

big game tonight.  let's go, boys!

Evan Turner was just a hot name for one of the coaching vacancies. I didnt realize he was even a coach, let alone already respected enough for that kind of consideration.

I see Irving left the arena in a boot, with crutches. Seems its at the least, a pretty significant sprain. And they say they wont rush back Harden because of this.

Will be curious to see what happens if they drop another game.

They got lucky with 3 days of rest and maybe the ankle isn't as bad as shape as thought.

Sixers will roll over Bucks in my opinion but Nets would be a legit fun series to watch.

The national sports media has been trying to hype up the Hawks and it's obvious.  I just hope the talking heads on their respective shows point out that the Atlanta fans cheered when Embiid appeared to re-injure his knee.  They also cheered when he took a hard fall while playing defense.  When he got helped up they went silent.

If that were Philly fans cheering a Trae Young injury we would definitely hear about it.

You must not remember when Eagles fans at the Vet cheered Michael Irvin's career ending neck injury.

False. They stopped cheering when they realized it was serious.

You’d think after 20+ years after the fact that fans would evolve and not cheer injuries. I guess not.

Yeah but that instinct is human nature.  It happens at every stadium in every sport in the world.

I disagree. I’ve been to a college basketball game out here where the Arizona player (edgerson) elbowed the guy straight in the face. It actually ended the guys career (post concussion) and no one cheer. Also went to the game where Brandon Ashley broke his ankle at cal and no cal fan cheered when it happened. Also was at Stanford when Richard Jefferson broke his foot. No one cheered. The only time I’ve been to a game where fans cheered was when wentz tore his acl. That’s cause LA fans are a bunch of dbags normally. It’s far less common now. Takes a true dbag to cheer someone got hurt when they are human beings putting their health on the line for your entertainment.

I'm not saying it's no big deal - it's classless - but it happens in stadiums everywhere when lubed-up fans turn into obnoxious boors.  It's not unique to Philly fans (or Atlanta fans).

Didn’t the sixers lose each game against the bucks during the season?

Yes, but they were without Embiid in the first game, Simmons in the second, and Embiid AND Simmons in the third.  And that was right around the time that Curry and Harris were banged up too.

I think we would beat the Bucks also but not "easily".  They should win in 6 or 7, in my opinion.

Easily like easily. Bucks scored 107,86, 86, and, 107 against a team with zero rim protection and the only issue the Nets had was their lack of defense.

Now add Simmons, Embiid, and Thybulle.

So you expect the Sixers in 6 with double digit wins each time?

I'm not a basketball expert, but I think I was both right and wrong about these sixers.  I said a long time ago that we've realized the process culminating in the foundation of Embiid/Simmons just wasn't good enough to win a title.  (maybe right, maybe wrong).  But I also said that their best shot was to just forge ahead cultivating what they have and hope for the best, no point in blowing it up now.

When I said the 76ers just couldn't win, that was within the context of the decade plus trend of superteams.  These sixers, unquestionably, are not built to beat a superteam in a 7-game playoff series.  It would never happen.  2021...the first year in over a decade...there are no superteams. The Lakers are injured and out.  The Nets...just because a bunch of stars decided to rendez-vous in Brooklyn doesn't make them a superteam.  Durant is a bigger injury risk than Embiid, Harden isn't what he was, and both he and Irving are injured.

The 76ers are flawed, but so is everyone else.  Within 2 years, there will be another superteam that slams the door shut on all this parity, but for now...they really are as good as anyone else.

I think it happens however it happens far less nowadays then in the past. I think fans have come way further in that area then others at stadiums. i think fights happen way more than fans cheering injuries nowadays. I’ve seen like 6 dodger fan fights since the start of the season and we aren’t even midway through.

They were also up 20 without embiid in the first game and the sixers blew it then Giannis sat on the logo. So I’m guessing embiid would likely have something to say after the series if they are able to win.
