Off season thread

Honestly, need top down total rebuild. Everything must go. Embiid...Simmons...trade them all.

I think Van Gundy wants to be the next 6es coach. He hasnt stopped carrying on about their "tremendous effort" all night. Its annoying.

Picturing Ben Simmons responding to any kind of coaching from Van Gundy is comical.

Bring back hinkie

At least bring back his strategy with a better eye for talent making the selections. If i owned that team, I'd call Adam Silver and tell him if he thought we tanked badly before, you ain't seen nothing yet. It's the only way to overcome the devastating disadvantages of being in Philadelphia where zero top Free Agents go.

I hate to keep bringing up Harris but once again our max contract guy disappears. 6-15 shooting with 15 points....That’s what our guy who’s paid like a superstar brings in a must have game....

Please sweep this team out of its misery

You can tank just don't announce it to the whole league that you are doing it on purpose just act incompetent which wouldn't be hard for 6ers organization. Lots of teams tank and get better after a couple years of it with out being so drastic about it and telling everyone you are doing it. Try not to draft 4 7footers in a guards league this time might help too

I’m still not convinced that they don’t just use Simmons injury as an excuse to keep Brown and Brand.

No way I'm with tanking again.

They can blow this entire thing up but they have assets in Embiid and Simmons that would bring a ton in return.  A blow up at this point does not mean a tank.

Trading them,  the team would remain competitive.  At least as good as it is right now. Possibly better if the pieces fit and they have a competent x's and o's coach.

If it still didn't work after the blow up and re-tool,  as these bad contacts expire then you have the tank decision to make.

But there's no reason to consider tanking right now,  or a rebuild.

Right now at that 21st pick, I think Id be happy with Tyrell Terry. PG from Stanford. Hes currently our pick on the tankathon mock.

I see him hitting 3s in transition, off screens, going left or right, even a step back 3.

He can also pull up mid range which supposedly is dead in the NBA yet you see the best scorers, such as Lillard or Kemba take plenty of those shots.

He looks like a really smooth finisher around the basket.

And he shoots FTs at over 89%.

I dont see defense in highlight vids but tankathon seems to rate his D highly.

I have no idea why he wouldnt be a top 5 PG in their rankings or projected in the 20s. Im sure there are legitimate reasons. But picking that late, Im just looking for someone with the offensive skills we need and he appears to be able to score in a variety of ways. And importantly, hit FTs if you have him handling the ball at the end of a tight game.

So I've been so signed out on the NBA and the Sixers......we actually got OKC's pick?  The way everyone was making it sound on here the chances of that happening were about the same as me having a threesome with Jessica Alba and Biel!!  Crap, and I thought the doorbell was another f'ing Amazon order!!

yeah we got it. barely. It pretty much came down to the last game. Or second to last game.

It was very unlikely but they did get it, thankfully.

we are gonna have to unload 21 in a deal to unload horford.

If we use 21 in a trade, Id prefer it to be an add in with Richardson to find Richardson's improvement.

Richardson + 21 I think should buy you an upgrade. Maybe like Hield (if he still wants out with a new GM).

2nd option with that pick would be to wait and see how we can do in a Simmons trade. I might want to use it to fill a spot depending on what pieces we get back.

If we got that hypothetical Chicago deal, we wouldnt need it at all. It literally fills the PF spot with Lauri, the SG spot with LaVine, and the PG spot with White, and brings us a top 5 pick.

But that sounds too good to be true and there might be a starting job that needs filled between the winner of a battle between the MLE and a draft pick.

If those 2 options fail, then 3rd option Id consider using it in a salary dump. Or maybe  to entice a team to swap their bad contract for ours (Horford for K Love, Wiggins, Wall, Paul...)

As bad as Horford is, I think the first 2 options present better upgrades for the team than just taking a salary dump or swap.

Have to unload horford to Sacramento for contract matching purposes

All of the bad contract swap trade ideas I mentioned worked on the realgm trade checker. Love, Wiggins, Paul, Wall. What am I missing?

As far as a strict salary dump without taking back bad contracts, I believe Charlotte should be able to do it. They are rumored to be willing to rent their cap space. Looking at sportrac it looks like the knicks and hawks are projected to be under the cap next season too.

Any chance we can get the OKC guards i.e., Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeaus-Alexander, and Dennis Schroeder for Horford and one of Embiid or Simmons?

Too good to be true.  Such a blessing though.

you're talking about 50-60 million in contracts we have to take back to dump 2 players.  I was looking for matches.  Hield matches with horford and if they want to dump Barnes then you're throwing in Richardson and some other contracts.  Gotta find fits with Embiid and Simmons.  Have to look at the 20-21 contracts. Simmons and Hield have 8 mill this year but that jumps to about 25 when the league year ends.

Trading him to Sacramento might have been feasible when the divac was still in charge  He’s gone and joe dumars is now VP of basketball operations. I think it’s kind of a pipe dream to believe Sacramento with a new general manager is just going to want Horford like what was reported with vlade.

It was more so because Hield wanted out.  contracts are the same length.  ditto for horford for Wiggins.   i know its unlikely but just looking feasible trades.  New mgmt maybe Hield wants to stay.  idk.

I have a hard time seeing the kings not getting a better package for hield than horford. You’d likely have to take on Barnes who’s their bad contract if you do that trade
