Trade Simmons to Minnesota

Receive deangelo Russell, Edwards, and/or a first

No way Wolves do that. They gave up so much for Russell.

I’d give him one more year and work hard on his free throw shooting and offensive game over the summer,” one NBA executive told HopsHype. "A pull-up mid-range jumper. His three-point shooting is a few years away if he ever gets it. You can’t rush things with him, he’s a mental midget right now with his shooting confidence. Not politically correct, but I couldn’t come up with anything else"

Did they really? I don't even like him that much just think he can play well with embiid.

Give me Edwards and two firsts.

That would be a great trade IMO.

Rollout a line up of McCollum, Maxey, Cov, Harris and Embiid. Curry, Thybulle, Shake off the bench.

Warriors own their first round pick if outside Top 3 this year and unprotected next year. They got Russell for nothing in the KD sign and trade when he went to the Nets.

Russell is also a player that will make you say what the F man in the last 5 minutes of a game multiple times.

Not sure anymore. That CJ deal is massive and he is an undersized guard who is starting to pick up injuries every year.

I think Sixers should continue to make Seth a bigger part of the offense because if look at the stats they are pretty darn similar. Seth isn't as long but offensively I think if you give him 20 shots a game he can get you 20-24 a night like CJ does.

I hope the Sixers look for a wing that can create his own shot off the dribble over another guard.

Ok. I see all the trade talk. Fact is Simmons trade value is at an all time low. What team is going to give up players to get Simmons? I mean everyone saw this. There's no hiding from it.

But he also misses foul shots like this?

Minnesota isn’t going to give up edwards for Simmons. Edwards is on a rookie contract and played really well for them this season especially after the all star break. they don’t have their first either this year or next year depending on if the pick conveys to the warriors this year.

not that it helps the sixers, but i wonder when KAT eventually says he wants to be traded. Minnesota feels like it’s going nowhere

idk if the mccollum trade is great...but i think it's somewhat realistic.

what team is giving up a shot creating wing/guard for simmons?

I don't know where he can go and get some value for him. Need a GM to absolutely love him.

I am not really high on the McCollum trade because he can’t stay healthy anymore and really you can’t play curry and McCollum together cause defensively that’s a nightmare. You could start Maxey with McCollum and move curry to the bench. Really for the money rather just have curry start and not take back McCollum. but at this point that’s at least a trade makes sense from both players contracts and team’s needing to move on from them.

If only vlade was still running the kings. You’d have to think they’d be dumb enough to want Simmons.

seth scored well in the playoffs but i'd never let him be the reason to do or not do a trade. perfect world, seth is a shooter off the bench.

kings had the worst ranked defense in the nba...so maybe?

Should the Sacramento Kings pursue Ben Simmons?

Ben Simmons is coming off one of the worst playoff performances in NBA history. In a seven-game series, he attempted just three shots in the fourth quarter and never even tried in the final four games. He is the reason the 76ers lost and a trade feels inevitable this offseason.

Simmons’s trade value is at an all-time low, so this won’t be a situation where Philadelphia can get a top star for him. Teams must also take his max contract into consideration, with the 6-foot-11 guard entering the second year of a five-year, $177 million extension.

There might be an opportunity here for the Kings. In terms of shooting, pairing Simmons and De’Aaron Fox together isn’t the perfect match, but Simmons’ skills fit what the Kings need. He can play forward for the Kings, utilizing his elite defensive ability to improve Sacramento’s greatest weakness.

It’s hard to gauge exactly what a Ben Simmons trade would cost the Kings. But statements made by McNair in the past hint that Simmons might be the kind of star he would try and buy low on. Plus, he has a strong relationship with 76ers president Daryl Morey.

If they had a guard that could allow Ben in a lot of PnR with him rolling to the hoop, but don't have that besides Maxey.

In 2016, Simmons admitted he’s a natural righty but his dad raised him to shoot with his left hand. "I think I was supposed to be right-handed. It’s all natural now,” he said at the time. Is it? People in his life have encouraged him to make the switch. Former Sixers shooting coach John Townsend worked with Simmons on attempting right-handed free throws and jump shots, but Simmons didn’t stick with it. Former teammate J.J. Redick recently said on his podcast that he told Simmons (and DeAndre Jordan) they should make the switch to their right hand.

"I’ve seen them shoot right-handed. It’s better form right-handed,” Redick said. "They do everything else right-handed, I don’t understand why you’re shooting a basketball left-handed.” Redick is correct. Simmons released the ball using his right hand on 67 shots this postseason, compared to just nine shots with his left hand. That rate is consistent with his career rate of using his right hand going back to his time at LSU.

JC That explains a lot. His father messed him up really bad. He needs a sports psychologist to get over it.

Simmons for Heild and three 1st rounders!!!!

Only gets worse. The Sixers have the 29th pick in the first round and one 2nd round pick this draft.

So, a point guard that can shoot, make foul shots and play defense, isn't going to come from the draft.

Mentioned above. How much better is CJ over Seth? I don't think it is such a wide gap that I would bring in that massive deal that goes along with it. Give Seth more opportunities

with embiid as their cornerstone, they're in win now mode. draft picks don't matter much for them, imo. they have a 2-3 year window & need immediate help. that's why i'm not high on any trades for future assets.

Just look at that form. Absolutely horrible- both elbows way out. Shooting hand in the wrong place. With his shooting hand placed like that he’s not going to get proper rotation.

McCollum is making $30 million and Seth is making $8 million and roughly the same age. I rather not take on 22 million more for a player i don’t think ages gracefully. i think he is better than Seth curry but he’s also $22 million more and gives you as much nothing on defense. I’m also curious if he is away from lillard if his statistics will drop off. Also concerns me this year he missed a bunch of games. Could just be the scheduling but could be he’s beginning to wear down at 29 and going on 30.

cj is a lot better than seth. there's a reason why this was seth's first season as a full-time starter...he's very limited. mccollum has been a starter for 6 seasons & has averaged 20+ ppg in each of those seasons.  it's really not close at all.

seth is a year older too.

mccollum is a lot better, imo. seth is better suited in the role he played for every season of his career prior to this one...shooter off the bench.

anyway, is mccollum a better fit than simmons?  that's the real question.

He's not going to improve here. He is lazy and doesn't care. Can't lose confidence in something he never even tried to do in the first place

He always had the confidence to dunk the ball or take a layup. Now, he doesn’t even have that.

I agree, it’s probably a work ethic thing but maybe after being embarrassed it lights a fire under him.

Not sure fox has become a good enough shooter to be able to have Simmons and fox on the floor on offense. And with Simmons mental state not sure how that work out not being the "point guard”. But defensively he would be a massive upgrade to what they currently have.

If the kings and sixers were to make a trade the sixers are taking back hield or Barnes’ bad contract. Frankly I’d try to get Haliburton in that deal which i think is super far fetched that they’d do it.

Simmons should be forced to shoot 1,000 foul shots per day. And work on a 10 foot Jump Shot. With his right hand.
