Don’t disagree. Frankly I think the Sixers are going to wind up wasting Joel Embiid‘s career and eventually trade him to a team so he can try to win a championship. I think they’ve made so many mistakes during this whole thing that it’s the thing that’ll keep them from it. I would argue the process in theory and if you drafted better and didn’t throw money away is a smart plan of action for a team and organization like the 76ers. However the execution and ownership of the Sixers completely screwed up something that could’ve been a masterpiece

I won't get into the process to much... I don't hate the idea of it and the thought behind it for the most part are reasonable and I good Idea in theory.. However, look how many teams turned their franchise around by just doing half ass tanking or tanking when they had too and just being bad. Sixers could of done what they wanted just don't announce it to the entire effing league your intensions. Everybody tanks when in position to do so, pounding their chest about it is what started the downfall of what they trying to finish but, couldn't because they were being cocky about it.

I agree them coining the phrase trust the process pissed off the NBA because it took it to another level. They really should have kept that to themselves until after they got way past the initial phases and then could have glorified it after they had the finished product years later

However I also think the Sixers ownership caved to what Adam silver wanted.  didn’t have the balls to stand up to him and say we’re gonna do it our way and see what happens and finish it out. They got scared the NBA was going to do something to them or make them sell the team which they would never do. And then you throw in the fact Colangelo and Elton Brand wasted a bunch of assets and cap on dumb moves.

Alot of mistakes made and some bad luck throughout all of it for sure

Ben will only get worse if they want to say he is being scapegoated. He was once the next LeBron and now he is absolutely crap

It is all on Ben.  All he had to do was work hard on his shooting mechanics, free throw shooting etc.  He has refused to do that.  Either that or he is just simply never going to get there due to his mental limitations.

tobi is a class act. i wish he were a little better at basketball...but he's a class act.

You take the Bertans contract to get Beal? 16 million a year for next 3 years and a player option @ 16 million in 24/25

Would also mean you don't have to give up as many assets to get him because taking on that horrible contract.

I take it.  At least he's a very useful player.

i would. it would have to be a multi team deal, imo...because i don't see how ben fits with westbrook at all.

For Wizards it is about gaining assets and talent. You worry about fit later especially if you think Beal is leaving.

I’m also betting they unload westbrook. Westbrook is making a ton of money but he has 2 years left on the contract. Becomes an expiring contract at the end of next year. I could see the wizards trading him somewhere in the next 2 years or a team trying to go all in thinking he could be the missing piece especially if they have contracts to match back.

I don't think true contending team will think Russ is a missing piece. He makes so many head scratching decisions at the end of games and he loves his pull up jumper with 18 seconds left on the shot clock. Problem is he shoots 39% in his jumper

Even though he has the shoulder width of a 12 year old.

This is literally what we have all been saying for years... dude is so concerned with his image. Needs to reframe the idea of failure.

But in a more literate way of speaking I hope.  I always thought Pippen was a little more intelligent than that.  "He been like this"?  JFC.  Grow up.

You’d be surprised if someone got desperate. I have to find the reporter who tweeted it but was a Lakers beat writer saying whispers the Lakers would consider making a trade for westbrook. I think would be incredibly dumb. And i don’t even know how they’d be able to match $44 mil.

As you all know, I'm no Bertans fan.  Not even a little, but if it meant acquiring Beal...

A little better at basketball?  He averages the upper teens/lower twenties at the highest level possible.  He's a real good player for us.  Sometimes, great.  I like Harris.  Good dude and good player.

It's just his contract that makes people say he sucks.  Is he overpaid?  Yes.  Not his fault our FO at the time were morons.  He had a bad game 7 no doubt, but he had a good season and pretty good playoffs overall.  He'd probably be better on an offense that doesn't play 4 vs 5 in the playoffs like pretty much everybody sans maybe Curry who benefits from a clogged paint.  Harris is a good mid range scorer but again that area is always going to be clogged with the extra defender that doesn't have to guard Simmons in the half court.

absolutely. he's good...sometimes very good. but i wish he were able to take over more of the scoring load when jojo is off. sometimes he does it in the regular season...but not consistently enough in the playoffs. and i wish he'd take more threes. he's kind of a dinosaur with his midrange game. good dude though.

Mid range is playoff basketball this post season, but Harris isn't good enough to create on a consistent basis

He was like 12 made free throws away from 50/40/90 this past season.  He's certainly not going to take over games and he never did in the past, but that kind of efficiency I can live with.  He's just a quiet scorer.  There's not a lot of flash to his game.  He's a border All-Star making max money, that's really the only beef I have with him, which again is not his fault.  I, too, am just waiting for my max offer from the Sixers to score 4 points and pass up wide open shots all game.

I don’t think anyone said he sucks. I think people have said he’s overrated. Partly due to the money he’s making but also we can say that he’s had some poor to mediocre playoff series here. Against the raptors in 2019 he averaged 14 points on 38% shooting and 27% from three. Against Boston in 2020 he averaged 15.8 ppg on 38% and 13% from 3. In this atlanta series he was good for the first 3.5 games then really not very good the second half of the series. First 3.5 games he was averaging 22.2 ppg on 60.3% (35-58) and 44% from three. The last 3.5 games he was 16.6ppg on 35% shooting (21-60) and 30.7% from 3 (4-13). Not all his fault as you mentioned the Simmons factor but that was a big drop off and he wasn’t going against Hunter who was out for the series.

suns did it the right way. drafted a perimeter player (booker) who has become really damn good. drafted a big (ayton) to complement that perimeter star. then pulled off the deal for bridges who everyone thought would develop into a really good 3 & D guy...and he has.  they hit on a lot of moves & acquired players whose games complement each other.
