If Nets and Lakers are healthy still don't beat them unfortunately

This was the Sixers year and they blew it. Not sure they get another shot

huge IF with the injury histories of the nets' stars and AD.

Sixers can say the same.

Nets just need two guys healthy. Sixers absolutely rely on one guy that has played 260 out of a total 568 possible games since he was drafted.

true. most teams can.

tbs, adding guys who can take over the scoring load when embiid is out would be a huge improvement.

I would do that trade where we send Simmons, Maxey, and picks for Dame. Dame, Embiid, and Harris would be great!!!

During the latest episode of "The Hoop Collective Podcast,” ESPN insider Brian Windhorst said "I think Dwyane Wade is seriously concerned about Donovan Mitchell’s desire to stay [in Utah] long-term.”

So Wade is the mouth piece for Mitchell now and talking thru Windhorst?

idk, man. i'm so desperate for trade news that i'm posting everything that could possibly be related to simmons getting the eff out of philly.

i think wade is part owner of the jazz, btw.

He is.

Less than zero interest in Donovan Mitchell on the Sixers.

I'm all in on making a deal with Portland.

Your ammo is Ben not the 7th overall pick

Draft is a crap shoot just look at maxey and where we got him. There are players there.

i agree we dont have time for a rookie to develop so i would prefer Dame or Beal

Maxey really hasn't proven anything.

Dang, Ben killed Zumoff's fairy tale ending.  Thanks Ben. All you had to do was turn your garbage free throw shooting into gold.

Not for nothing but Zu should trademark, "lock all windows and doors"

Maybe not "proven” but it’s easy to look at his rookie year coupled with his work ethic and see that he’s going to be a player.

Only way i think the sixers trade maxey is if they have a deal in place for lillard or beal. Otherwise i don’t see him going anywhere.

Is your preference of Beal over Dame based more on age or fit?  I think Beal just turned 28 and Dame will be 31 soon.

i have always been a fan of beal so my bias is definitely there regardless of age or fit. TBH though, i'd be happy with either.

a rookie will take time to develop...time they probably don't have when building around embiid.

never, ever be the team giving up the star player in an nba trade. it's a star driven league. bench scrubs you can't even put on the court during the playoffs won't help.

Meh... I'm not too concerned with building around the mirage of Embiid. But even so,  my idea of great depth gives you the best chance to win while he is still taking up a roster spot on the team.  Cause while he is inevitably out or ineffective in the post season,  you need to have a lot of other talent on the team to try to get by.

Would need Garland and only if Green is available at #3

Well, I read today that Sexton feels as if he is part of their long term plan there. So Im thinking maybe they arent looking to break up that excellent back court.

So I tried putting together a deal where we get that pick, since it doesnt really fit their needs, and match salaries without taking back Love's bad contract.

I like the idea of the pick, and a bunch of good depth pieces because our bench is bad and we dont have a lot of ways to correct it.

What’s you infatuation with trying to trade for depth? Go get another star to pair with Embiid, keep one or both of Thybulle/Maxey and then worry about the bench after. If you can trade and acquire a good bench piece or 2 in the deal, great. But it should not be the focal point.

Again, youre forgetting the #3 pick in the hypothetical deal where Mobley is gone so Suggs or Green are guaranteed to be there. THATS the focus of the deal. Thats the star you get in return for Simmons.

Though the depth isnt the focus of this deal, my reason for infatuation for depth should be obvious. Not only have I stated the reason many times now, but any 6ers fan who watches the team should be sick of our lack of depth hurting us.

This year, we are probably still playing if we had some scoring off the bench, or anyone good enough to step in for Danny Green rather than watching Bogdanovic and Belinelli shoot over Curry with ease.

Look how Phoenix survived without their HOF starting PG. We couldnt survive even losing a player like Danny Green. Let alone last year when we didnt have Simmons.

So you are ready to put all your eggs in the rookie basket but won’t pull the trade for Dame if Maxey is included? Doesn’t make any sense. Dame guarantees we are contenders for 2-3 years. A rookie does not. I love Maxey as much as everyone else but he isn’t going to be the next Kobe Bryant.
