trading ben for worse players to add to the bench & picks is about the dumbest edgelord idea yet.

Trading him and getting something in return would be an improvement over just releasing him, like the Eagles would do, but we need more than just getting rid of him, we need another star with a pissy attitude who gets more determined to win in crunch time, and inspires the rest of the team to do the same.  Embiid gives us MVP talent, but he doesn’t give us that mental toughness.

Honestly the 2019 and 2020 offseason killed the sixers. First they allowed butler to walk ( i know for a fact the sixers never offered him a 5th year which was a big part of him leaving; he was never staying without that). Then giving harris a near max and then they had some cap in 2019-2020 offseason and  decided that horford was a good fit at 33 when he was breaking down. Those two offseason were complete nightmares for the sixers. Then add on Ben decided not to improve his game

It only makes any sense if you are dealing with Portland or the wizards and they say we don’t want Simmons but a boatload of draft picks and some good picks not just end of first round. So even in his idea you would likely be working a three way deal to pull someone like a lillard or beal using those picks.

basically his trade you might as well trade embiid today and get maximum value. Cause waiting on no. 3 pick to be a star and be playoff ready is likely not happening for 2-3 years. At that point embiid might be out of his prime and need another star to go with him. It’s basically just starting over

Can we really count on Green to come in year 1 and make a major impact when Paul Reed dominated the G-League and didn't even get playing time when he joined the Sixers?

That’s if green is there at 3. Ive seen multiple mocks having him go 2 to the rockets.

yep...its a multi team deal or a complete rebuild where you also move the guy who was just an mvp finalist.

Yeah i don’t get it. He’s 27 not 31. He has injury concerns but i still think he has 3 maybe 4 prime years left. We waited years on the process to get a player of this caliber. Why not go all in to try and finish it off with a title. Instead we want to basically piss off embiid with a trade like that and hope we hit on a draft pick for life after embiid. I rather get lillard and have 3 maybe 4 cracks at it and suck for 5-6 years after that era where you are building up again.

If they can't get Lillard or Beal while keeping at least Thybulle then the window might already be closed.

Joel has missed 35% of his games if you don't include the first two years where he didn't play. Has he gotten surgery already or holding off so he can enjoy a break? He isn't getting younger and dudes his size don't have a track record of staying healthy.

I'll roll the dice with his health and longevity if we have Lillard on the team.  It is better than the other alternative of giving up and starting over.  I agree though, we need to keep Thybulle if Maxey goes and I don't think that will be a deal breaker for them.  Ben and Thybulle are kind of redundant in that they both suck on offense but are great defenders.

That might be true regardless because of previous bad decisions by the 76ers. I would argue their 2019 and 2020 off-season is a bigger reason why this team isn’t as good as they could be. Don’t get me wrong Ben Simmons is a huge part of the issue but they threw money and assets away building a team that realistically isn’t good enough to win a title. Those two offseason were miserable and hampering them today. They had cap space to spend they got horford and now Danny green  so we’re those two seasons of green and prior horford worth the money they had to spend at that time? No

I would love to keep Thybulle. Frankly i think Maxey, Simmons, Paul reed and likely boatload of picks likely gets that deal done depending on what the Celtics offer. Celtics have brown but smart doesn’t make sense for the blazers as I’m guessing they’d be rebuilding at that point so I’m guessing it would be a three way deal with Boston. Also think following what Powell does is important. If the blazers aren’t planning on extending him leading up to FA then i think it says they are more likely to deal lillard.

You really don't have a choice but to roll the choice with Joel. As eagles said the FO made bad decision after bad decision and put them in this place. Not to mention both coaches have done Nothing to really improve the team.

What Ty Lue is doing with the Clippers is brilliance. Every series he has adjusted to counter what the opponents are doing and has worked to perfection. Where Doc made no real adjustments and his bench rotations were maddening

I like Mann, but dude stop dipping the ball as you catch and speed that crap up.

Vs Duncan Robinson who catches it eye lvl and goes straight up. This is the next evolution of basketball, what Duncan did.

You want to know an organization that’s more of an epic failure it’s the phillies. Gonna be a decade without having a winning season or making the playoffs. That would be their 3rd longest streak in their history. And longest since 1950

The sooner the better.

Its not just the games he has missed. Its also how many he has played while completely ineffective or even a hinderance. That %age goes WAY higher.

I give lue a ton of credit. He looked like a disaster after the first two games against the mavs. He’s really done an excellent job since that point in adjustments and using the right players and pressing the right buttons. Even when they got down 0-2 to utah it felt more like utah survived and the clippers were right there. Frankly the clippers starting series just a day off in between has been brutal. Yet i would argue they’ve been the better team over Phoenix from the middle of game 2 til now.

If they move on from Embiid and Simmons now they can probably rebuild fast. If they don't they won't win crap and then have to spend 5 years rebuilding.

Because that's the same thing as being injured the last 6 years straight. How many 7 foot guys with injuries have had their issues decrease closer to 30 and beyond?

[Sportico] BREAKING: Scott O’Neil has stepped down as CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils

Not sure how much that matters?

It was a dumb false equivalency.
