That’s what i was thinking. Living out here on the west coast, Dodgers and Lakers fans are pretty harsh on their own players. Like pau gasol helped win two titles and Lakers fans would grill him when he wasn’t playing well. Don’t get me wrong 76ers fans aren’t angels but i think there’s justification for being frustrated and booing when Simmons pulls what he did and the team apparently didn’t take the hawks seriously

It took Kobe Bryant to say something to Lakers fans when LeBron was coming here and we all still hate him lol.

Right?  The comments about the Sixers fans bother me less that his comments that the Sixers just thought they were going to beat the Hawks and walk through that series without having to put in the effort. That is super concerning considering the fact embiid was playing on one leg and the sixers have yet to win anything or get out of the second round. That’s a maturity thing and rivers not getting through to his team

Something I've been saying all year, they still have maturity issues and do stupid things that champions don't do.

Idc about the sixers fans comments. Guys are soft, whatever. The fact that from reading his words it seems like they are proud of the year they had is a disgrace. It was an absolute embarrassment to end the season the way they did. If they are sitting around thinking about what a great job they did then its over for the next 5 years at least.

yep. I've been as pro-Process as you could be over the last 10 years. But I'm more and more getting uncomfortable and disengaged with this team. I don't think just trading Ben Simmons away suddenly fixes all of this team's problems. There is a sense of entitlement down there that is bigger than any one player. This entire team/franchise may be a case study against tanking and why it doesn't work much more than we would've liked it to be when this is all said and done. And the entitlement attitude that young high pedigree top 3 draft picks come into your franchise with could be a big determent for any team going forward in putting all of their eggs in that basket. When you truly suck for a while, with no glimmer of hope other than the young players that arrive via those high picks, those players egos are now unmanageable. You can only coach them so much - they're the saviors of your team, or so they've been told and labeled. So how do you just coach them back down to employee #25 or #21 in that scenario? They arrived on a pedestal and you can't just pull it away from them. Resulting in what we've seen here now over the last 3-4 years. Very talented but ultimately mentally soft teams.

embiid seems to have responded to coaching pretty well..having had his best season under doc. despite all his flaws, doc is a vet coach who is respected by players.  jojo's still a gigantic baby at times...but i think he's shown to be more coachable than ben.

honestly, they need a vet who is an alpha...maybe even a bit of an ahole. like a chris paul or even a butler type. someone who might be able to get through to the young guys. well, except for ben. i 100% think he's uncoachable & needs to go.

this decision to let him walk in favor of pandering to Ben will continue to age as worse as the not trading Ben for Kawhi/Harden conversations will.

It's honestly going to be outstanding the trickle down effect not hitting on Fultz, and now Ben to an extent is going to have on putting the final nail in the coffin of "the process" and how it's viewed. Obviously no rational person will blame the team, Hinkie, etc bc of the clusterF those two players turned out to be. They were the right picks at the time. But history is not going to rationally look back at this that way. History is going to damn all of this and keep throwing dirt all over Hinkies name, as if this latest meltdown had anything to do with him, as he's now five years removed from anything to do with this team.

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/263266/Damian-Lillard-Affirms-He-Doesnt-Want-Trade-From-Blazers

"Anything that I have to say, I'm going to say directly to [Blazers general manager] Neil [Olshey] and I'm going to address it directly with my team," Lillard said after the third day of Team USA training camp in Las Vegas. "There's really nothing else I have to say about it."

Lillard affirmed he has no intention of wanting to be traded from the Blazers.

"There's a lot of things being said and sometimes words being put in my mouth and I haven't said anything," Lillard said. "If there is something to be said or if I think something or have something to say that I'm going to say it and I'm going to stand on it."

All he's saying is that he is going to keep it all in house.

Nothing days he didn't request a trade like the realgm headline says.

Even the putting words in his mouth quote is about the fact that he's not trying to talk about it publicly while people keep asking him or writing it.

Some dude on the realgm posted this under the Simmons trade thread.  Does anyone know what he is talking about or have more information on this?

T-wolves getting run today, multiple legit sources. Would have to be a 3-way deal though correct? Edwards is the perfect piece to send to a 3rd team and grab Lavine, Beal, etc

Nope new rumor

Never mind, he just replied to himself and proposed a 3 team trade which was absolutely horrendous.  He has us trading Ben, Maxey and and our 1st and we get Lavine and Rubio in return lol.

i'd rather give up shake than maxey but it's not a horrible trade. lavine is a lot better than simmons...so you'd have to add something like maxey to get that done. and our crappy late 1st round pick for rubio isn't outrageous.

76ers get: Lavine, Rubio
Wolves get: Simmons, 4th pick (from CHI)
Bulls get: Edwards, Maxey, 28th pick (from PHI)

Rubio can't shoot.  I am willing to give up Maxey but not for a deal like this.  Maxey will be more valuable than Rubio by as early as next year.

i don't really like rubio either.  anyway, they would be giving up maxey to upgrade from simmons to lavine. that's a big upgrade, imo.  27ppg & 42% on threes this past season.

I like Lavine, a lot and he would help tremendously but then we are capped at pretty much our ceiling.  We have no other assets to include for a good player and Mattisse would need to stay on the team if we got rid of Maxey and Simmons.  Unless Portland is dumb enough to trade us CJ for Harris straight up.  If we could make both those moves, then I am in!

Doesn't seem like a Morey trade especially analytics driven and to bring in another non shooter.

they'll have to include one of the young guys and/or picks with simmons if they're going to trade for an upgrade. there's really no way around that.

it's a made up trade anyway. the 28th pick is pretty much worthless, imo...especially for a win now team. i wouldn't cry if they moved it for a guy like rubio to provide pg depth.

Yeah no doubt but I would aim higher and then go the Lavine route if all other options fail.  However, he is only 26 so he would be the youngest star we could get who is already in his prime.
