I saw an article suggest Rose, Toppin this year's 1st, and a 2023 1st from the Knicks.

I'm not a fan of that one.

Rose is a FA

that horrible knicks offer was to cleveland for sexton.....not for simmons.

[Dammarell]A package that would include Obi Toppin, Kevin Knox, and one of New York’s 2021 first rounders appears to be an option for Collin Sexton after reaching out to a source.

Sounds like the league and HE have completely different value for Sexton.

I really dont get the appeal of Kevin Knox. He hasn’t been good in like 2 years now. He was good his rookie season and now trending the wrong direction since then. Toppin is an unknown but really had an underwhelming rookie season. I’m guessing the cavs could get a better package then that.

Oh, Knox will be out of the league after his rookie contract and Toppin can jump really high, but that about it. So many teams kicking themselves for passing on Haliburton

That package for Sexton is garbage and shows the value of the future superstar.

I kind of compare toppin to Derrick Williams in terms of nba careers. Guys who were great college players but really weren’t nearly as good in the pros. Toppin has way more athleticism then Williams but i think Williams coming into the league was younger and more developed.

The fact Cleveland doesn’t want to pay him should give you concern. They could draft Mobley (green is likely going to Houston) to be a stretch 4 like bosh and have Sexton, garland and Mobley as the trio going forward and build around that. And yet they don’t want too. I think they’ll get more than that but the cavs and the league telling you he’s not as good as his stat line suggests

Incorrect again..That's a different offer.  And the article I read headlined " the Knicks need to make this offer for Simmons now." Or something along those lines.  It was about a Knicks for Simmons trade. But it wasn't a rumor. More like a Knicks fansided article.

Not at all.  It's exactly what Morey did with Harden. Trade on a speculative super star, not an established one. His value is less, for now. That's part of what makes it smart. Ever heard the concept of buy low?

Listen man, I know you have come up with every single scenario to make the optimal team with your way of thinking.  I am not saying you are right or wrong.  I can't have anymore misses.  We already had a bunch of those.  Everything we do roster construction wise has to be spot on in order to get the most out of this team in the next 4 years.  I know you think we can't win with Embiid but 95% of the fanbase feels differently.  I am not taking any risks.  You can try to be the smartest guy in the room.  I prefer to take the obvious player who has the best chance of giving us a ring in the next few years.

He is smarter than everyone and then actual trade value for Sexton comes out and it's garbage.

And he is still calling Sexton a speculative superstar which should tell you everything. Are 7 superstars in the league right now and Sexton isn't in the next tiers.

You guys are looking at the next move as a means to an end.

I'm looking beyond the next 2 years and preserving some young talent while staying as competitive.

Your willing to gamble more for a championship even if it means crashing and burning.  I'm more interested in preserving success. The more years near the top,  the better the chances of finally winning one.

Sixersense has 2 76ers Sexton trade scenarios.

One gets us Sexton for Seth Curry, Joe, and 2 firsts.

The other looks like the trade I suggested.

Ben for Sexton, Nance, Prince, and 2 firsts.

That's a great deal.

But Id also do the 1st one. Then hope to flip Ben for Ingram.

Sexton, Ingram, Harris, and Embiid is a nice lineup.

from a very unreliable source.....

Per a trusted league source, Ben Simmons could be headed to Chicago in a deal that would send Zach LaVine to Philadelphia. I’m told that all of the players in the deal have been agreed. The draft capital exchange is where things are held up.

Vinfosh is usually spot on with Sixers news.

Ha.  You are right about the source but that does seem to me to be one of the more likely deals to happen.

I would bet money if Morey can get Sexton for those pieces that they would keep Simmons. Play Collin off ball, but would ownership be willing to give Sexton 5/160 or around what he would demand.

Finally a vinny frosh bomb

https://www.sacbee.com/sports/nba/sacramento-kings/article252765363.html

The potential for a deal is there, but the 76ers are reportedly seeking an All-Star caliber player in return. De’Aaron Fox would probably fit that description, but sources have maintained the Kings are highly unlikely to trade their dynamic 23-year-old point guard.

The Kings would be looking to put Simmons, a 6-foot-11, 240-pound point guard, in a frontcourt position in a lineup featuring Fox, Tyrese Haliburton, Harrison Barnes and possibly Richaun Holmes, if they are able to keep him in free agency. The addition of Simmons would immediately improve a team that finished 30th in the NBA in defensive rating and rebounding last season.

Sacramento would probably be willing to offer a package that includes Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III and one or more future first-round draft picks. One league source recently told The Sacramento Bee the Kings would have to send a minimum of three first-round picks to the 76ers in a trade constructed around Hield and Bagley. Another source said the 76ers wouldn’t be interested unless Fox or Haliburton were included in the trade, but Hield’s elite 3-point shooting and Bagley’s unrealized potential could be appealing if a better deal doesn’t materialize.

Wonder if Kings would part with Haliburton instead of Fox. Then a package of Buddy, Haliburton, #9 pick, for Simmons.

Joel gets the knock down shooter in Buddy, Haliburton can shoot 3s at 40.9% on 5 attempts, and can run an offense with an assist to turnover ratio of 3.3.

#9 pick can get you a quality NBA player in Moody, Kispert, Mitchell, Wagner, or Bouknight

I don't see a deal happening with Sacramento unless they include Fox, which they should be reluctant to do.

If it’s Lavine for Simmons, we should be able to add a pick and just use Shake right? Will Maxey have to go too?

They have White so not sure they have a need for him, maybe Thybulle

If we lose Ben in a deal for a star, does Thybulle become more valuable to us then Maxey?

I think that value changes on a short term view vs a longer term view.

Immediately after the trade, Thybulle's value goes up as he becomes becomes the primary defender on the others teams best wing/scorer.  Over time, if Maxey reaches near the peak of his potential, he'll be more valuable than Thybulle will likely be in a similar scenario.

Nah.

I value offense over defense. Thybulle will always be expendable to me. But I'll enjoy his contributions while he's here.
