I must be missing something regarding Buddy Hield.  I don't watch a lot of Kings games but every time I do I feel like he is lighting ish up.  A career 40%+ 3 pt shooter with that kind of volume?  Joel would be in heaven with floor spacing.  Then throw in Bagley and a top 10 pick in the mix?  The Cuz always talks about not being the recipient of the dreaded "package" but this one seems like a steal to me.

Not for nothing but MB3 would make up for the loss of the great Tony Bradley

That is about what Lillard and Duncan Robinson shot from 3 this year with the same number of attempts. Steph was 42% this year on two more attempts a game.

Buddy can definitely shoot it and Joel would be in heaven. I would do everything I could to get Haliburton as well

Because that's all he does.  Doesn't play defense, doesn't create his own shot, doesn't create for others.  He's a 20+ million Seth Curry.  Not enough of an upgrade for the price tag.  Sixers need an offensive initiator who can shoot the 3 not another floor spacer.  Maybe Maxey is that guy...maybe.  You could bring Curry off the bench in that case. But I want more for Simmons than Hield, trash players and maybe some mid to late 1st round draft picks (I think Simmons, Haliburton and a Fox core that is locked up for a while put them in the bottom part of the west playoffs).

I just don't think that move really makes this team any better.  They need a creator who can score and shoot at an average % to take the load off Embiid in the playoffs.  For me from the kings it better include Fox or Haliburton or I'm out.  Fox isn't an ideal fit because he's a below average shooter but still has to be respected on the perimeter and can tow the offensive load.  Not to mention he's a plus defender.

Not to mention Hield hated Joerger when he was the coach in Sac.

Joel having multiple 40% shooters is even better for him, but he can't be the only piece or major piece. He is a salary filler

Joeger is overrated as a coach. Gasol didn't like him at Memphis either.

He’s basically being taken on like you said to match salaries. Frankly i love haliburton but he’s not close enough to being ready as a guy you can rely on for a playoff run. He’s gonna need time. He really doesn’t fit the embiid timeline. Other issue is fox and hield make 28.3 and 22 mil the next year. That’s 50 mil in salary cap. Not sure how the sixers match unless you use cap holds in trades.

Imo dream trade with the kings would be maxey, thybulle, Simmons for haliburton, hield and fox. Which is never ever gonna happen. I love haliburton much more than thybulle and more than maxey. Basically have a starting lineup of fox, hield, haliburton, Harris and embiid with curry off the bench.

It just doesn't solve the problem of the sixers not having a guard who can create and shoot in the half court.  Ben is great on the break, high paced offense, and is a DPOY candidate but when the game slows down in the playoffs and becomes a half court game he's a major offensive liability next to a guy like Embiid.  That's what needs to be fixed.  Adding a shooter just doesn't do it.

All that said, I don't think the Kings trade Haliburton or Fox.  Though they have to find someone to unload Hield's contract on in they process.  Barnes contract is not much better.  They'll be handcuffed with both for a couple years until they move them.  Barnes will at least be an expiring after this season.  They need to unload one or both to get a player to give them a fighting chance at a championship.

I think hield or Barnes you’d have to take in any deal. They want to unload at least one of them. Frankly easier to unload Barnes with less years left on his contract and actually not useless on defense. Probably rather you take hield

Interesting stuff out of Miami on Ben Simmons from @IzGutierrez (via @gregcote😞 "People don’t like Ben Simmons in the league. His teammates don’t like Ben. There’s just something about him. He is an unlikable dude.

This is kind of obvious. A dude with his size, skill set and contract who doesn’t care about winning or working hard. He never accepts blame and is cocky about it. Meanwhile others are putting work in and wanting to win.

Not sure I buy that. Embiid might not like him, but after the arse kissing that Dwight Howard and Danny Green gave Ben when he quit on them makes me doubt this.

Yeah, I believe a random twitter guy who looks like that.

Probably Jimmy if true.  I don't think he liked Ben because Ben is **** who drives fancy cars while Jimmy is a hard worker who drives a minivan.

Obvious.

Remember when a a rookie he refused to do the rookie hazing because he was too good?

Yeah you know that's not the only incident like that that will have happened in his career.

I feel like there's been one or two other stories like that that I can't think of right now.

quiet day for simmons trade rumors.

my random thought is that i could see them making some kind of move for lowry if they wind up trading ben for a non-pg. he's old af but lowry has that vet presence & playmaking ability this team really, really needs. i'd hate to see them have to give toronto something for lowry since he's a free agent but that's probably the only way they could get him. we'll see.

Ben for Ingram

S&T for Lowry

Tobi for McCollum

Here's another Ben story I was forgetting just from this year

"What I have gathered was that Ben Simmons left New York that evening [on Thursday]," Goodwill said on Chris Haynes' 'Posted Up' podcast. "He left New York and went to Philadelphia." Per Goodwill's report, Simmons decided to split from Brooklyn without permission from the team. And when the Sixers found out, the two-time All-Star had to return.

"This is like some serious stuff," Goodwill continued. "So, they find out, Ben Simmons has to come back, and magically he ends up on the injury report the next day, not playing. Now, who knows how you want to connect the dots. That's for us to do here on the Posted Up podcast. We are just going to present the water for you and allow you to drink it."

Pop is definitely arrogant enough to think that he could fix Simmons.

dejounte murray and a s&t for derozan ?  philly would have to throw in at least hill for salary purposes.

Spurs have a ton of cap space.  Could absord the Simmons hit.  Call me crazy but I'm not a fan of Derozan for the Sixers.  He lives in the mid-range and is a crappy 3pt shooter.  Harris, Embiid, Derozan seems to not help spacing.

Would be pretty nice if the sixers could convince the spurs to also give up Lonnie walker in that deal. But i highly doubt they would.

still don’t think the sixers would view that as a big enough star to make the trade

yeah...i was just trying to figure out who would work.  murray & patty mills might be a better fit...and they probably wouldn't have to give up much more than simmons. i think mills would need to be a s&t as well.

derozan & tobi occupy the same space so that might not work.

they could spin derozan as an "all star player", i guess.
