FYI if you listen to 97.5 the night host Devon Givens is cousins with Mikal Bridges, he confirmed the source saying Philly is his top choice if he’s traded

Is this for bridges or for Lillard? I’m assuming it was meant for Lillard and they just added devon was cousins with Mikal

For Lillard yeah, sorry.

So it will come down to the Knicks or us.  Should I prepare to be disappointed now or just keep riding the roller coaster hoping it ends up being us 😂

Be disappointed blazers aren't giving up Dame for Ben. The blazers are not gonna give up being a middle of the road team with Dame to a don't even make the playoffs with a useless in the playoffs Simmons especially in the west. It does not make any sense for them. Ben still has some decent value but, not trade for a superstar value.

The best the blazers can do is blow it up and start tanking and they can't do that properly with Ben anchoring them down with his contract and sheety offensive skills.

Yeah it is contingent upon Lillard being available.  9 time out of 10 though, when these rumors and leaks come out, especially with desired teams listed, that player ends up being moved.  You could see the body language in his press conference.  He was basically saying, get me a star or I'm out or in his words "there is a major sense of urgency".  Not sure how they could pair him with another star even if they use CJ as the major trade chip.

They can't blazers have no money and no picks to help Lillard. They are screwed which is why I doubt the trade Lillard for Ben and make matters even worse for themselves and their future especially after just hiring a new coach

That's why is has to be a 3 or 4 team trade.

Backup 3/4 who has shot 43.5% and 40.3% on 4.3 attempts over the last two years. A solid addition

Lou and Beverly are supposedly available.

I know Lou has been bad this year.  How Beverly been?

I'm thinking Beverly, Ellington, McDermott- championship?

McDermott has been playing the most minutes of his career this year and is a key rotation player for the Pacers. Why would they trade him?

Beverly is making 13 million this year and don't think he is worth for it for 6 months when he hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy.

I think if the 6ers took my idea from back in February, we might have had a championship.

Now, considering the response I got, it seems unlikely he is going to sign here for our MLE.

He would be a fine replacement for Danny Green when he leaves though.... would be nice.

I maintain that Kornet would be a nice backup 4/5 who can stretch it really well.

3 team deal makes sense though with picks etc going to Portland because it's not like a team will give up a young stud of equal value to them.

Batum and McDermott would be nice options to fix the front court depth problems that existed all of last season, particularly at the 4 spot. Batum is a 4/small ball 5

McDermott is a 3/stretch 4

You could get away with some normal rim protecting big for cheap on the end of the bench like a Pelle, Bradley,  or Porier type that rarely plays for the times you need that.

Well no one will want to trade Maxey now

As they shouldn't. At least he will shoot.

yeah...mcbuckets would be a nice upgrade over korkmaz.

Could see the Ben trade for picks going down first. Then Morey consolidating the picks + Maxey and Thybulle for Dame.

Something like this:

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yds6pfqh

Pacers send 13th ovr pick

Pacers send 2023 top 3 protected pick

Sixers then send one of those two incoming IND players, Thybulle, Maxey, both Pacers picks, Sixers 28th ovr pick, Sixers 2023 pick, swap rights 2022 and 2024, and top 5 protected 2025 1st rd pick

Way too much for 1 player.

Ah you might as well draft at that point. Pittsburgh Steelers way of building.

I love Dame and want Ben out but no. That is way too much.

I would be perfectly happy with Levert and keep Maxey

Will Ben, Thybulle, Pacers player and all those picks be enough to get Lillard though?

If not you walk away.

And who is going to offer anything better?

Levert, Warren and Maxey might be better than Lillard. Caris is on the edge of All Star, if he can stay healthy and wings are more important than guards

Agree. Warren as well, if he can be even close to the player he was in the bubble. There he was elite. If he is even close to that hes near all star level. Maxey is gonna be at worst, a nice 6th man which we certainly need. Caris and Warren can both create for themselves off the dribble.

Sometimes the sum of the parts is better than the whole.

With those, you might be able to trade Tobi for CJ too. The scoring from the wings would be insane. CJ, Caris, Warren, ?, Embiid. Fill that PF spot through FA with Batum, McDermott, Portis, etc....

quoted the wrong post here my bad - but yeah in my expansion on this deal below let's say Warren goes to POR and we keep Levert. I thought I was responding to a post that said this offer was too much to give up, FWIW.

Outgoing players:

TJ Warren - nice 2 way vet. Supposedly an a-hole though. Can't miss what ya never had.

Maxey - lot of upside. But upside doesn't mean crap when you're trying to win a Championship and the opposing GM knows that.

Thybulle - if he gets a shot he's probably a top 30 player. As we can attest to though, some guys just don't ever get that shot. And we just saw how overrated defensive minded players are in the NBA postseason, as our team with Thybulle and Ben couldn't beat the freaking Atlanta Hawks. Seriously, spare me with defense going forward.

Picks:

from IND: 13th OVR + 2023 top 3 protected - valuable, especially obviously the latter.

from PHI: lets get the swap rights out of the way first. Whoever started including these in trade talks is a genius. Because they are most likely not going to materialize. Sure, in the off chance that Lilliard and Embiid just dont work or both get injured, then yeah maybe we finish with a worse record than the Pacers. We're not going to unless that happens. So take them out, they aren't going to turn into anything.

2021 28th overall - spare me with this pick. borderline meaningless/essentially early 2nd rd pick except without needing to guarantee the salary.

2023 unprotected - again, you're now the team with Lillard and Embiid. You should finally be competing for ECF supremacy and at least have one ECF/Finals appearnce over the next couple seasons. So this is another pick around 28. Goodbye.

2025 top 3 - finally, the most valuable part of the trade. An almost unprotected pick, at the twilight of Embiid and Lilllards careers, maybe. Even still, you're protected at the top of the draft with the elite franchise players.

This trade is more fair than you want to admit. POR GM knows you will mortgage the future to make Embiid happy / know that Simmons needs to be moved for an elite guard. Maybe you get Covington and a guard back from POR to help with your depth. But the headline here is adding Lillard to Embiid. You need to make it happen and everyone knows it. Or sit back and watch this window continue to close.

Nah.  I don't agree.  Not at any cost.  Only at a reasonable cost.  I don't think a trade package that huge makes any sense at all.
