No CJ is the only asset the Blazers have that they can move to bring somebody different in that Lillard could possibly compete with. That's why the only move they said the sixers have with the blazers is Ben for CJ.

Dame isn't looking to change the team for the sake of change.  He wants someone that will make them a title contender.  Not sure there is a player out there for them and if there is, they don't have the assets.  Swapping CJ for Ben is at best a lateral move for Portland.

isnt there a wing in the late first round worth adding? or at least a SG?

Yes

I think there is as well. However i think it’s highly unlikely the sixers are selecting with that 28th pick

Sixers believe they are up against the ceiling of the amount of developmental reps they can offer, between Maxey, Matisse Thybulle, Paul Reed, Isaiah Joe, and other older but still developing players like Shake Milton and (potentially) Furkan Korkmaz if he is brought back into the fold. If a gem falls to them unexpectedly, the Sixers are open to the idea of using the pick, but conversations are already being had on the trade front

Yeah.  That's what all the reporters are saying. Morey's last first round pick was in 2015.

Someone proposed this.  But why would the Cavs do this?

Raps: Ben, Thybulle and Sexton
Cavs: Siakam and Tobias
OKC: 3rd and 4th pick
Sixers: FVV and SGA

the morons on realgm are going to propose a lot of nonsense. it's what they do.

If SGA if really available then he moves above Lillard for me

Is this cause of his age and you believe he’ll be as good as lillard is currently in a couple years and longer window. Or just in general you think he’s a better player today than lillard?

That is a tough one but I would be happy with either.  Obviously SGA is 2 years away from even starting his prime and has shown he can be a good scorer.  I think his defense is at least average, maybe better, and he can improve upon it.  He can take it to the rack, has mid range and now added the 3 point shot.  While Lillard is a deadly shooter/scorer, he won't be taking it to the rim as much since he is older (more of a 2 level scorer).  So it would be 3 years of Lillard in his prime vs potentially 8-10 years of SGA.  When Embiid slows down in a few years, he can take over as the main guy.

I like him as a player more. He probably should have been an All Star this year over Conley.

His versatility to score at all three levels is huge. I think we would see a lot of easy buckets for Embiid, kind of like Trae does for Capela.

While Dame and Embiid complement each other well, I don't think their games raises each others ceilings. Where SGA and Embiid can make each other better.

Dame is basically an iso guy at this point, but heck maybe Dame could turn into a version of Harden has turned into with the Nets. Where he knows he can dominate scoring but wants to make others better.

Ben filler people are speculating..

The Raptors and Rodney Hood have agreed to push his contract guarantee date to August 3rd, the team announced.

Quote

With trade rumors swirling these days, the Toronto Raptors have made a decision to keep Rodney Hood around for a little bit longer.

Toronto originally had until Tuesday night to make a decision on Hood's $10.9 million non-guaranteed contract for next season, but the two parties have agreed to push back that deadline to August 3, the team announced Tuesday. While Hood is likely to be waived eventually, the added flexibility buys Toronto a little bit more time to work out a trade involving Hood.

Considering Toronto is reportedly looking to acquire a star player this summer, keeping Hood around for a few more days should make things a little bit easier. For example, the Raptors can now use Hood's contract in a deal for someone like Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, or Ben Simmons, allowing the acquiring team to take on what essentially will be vanishing money. Hood's contract will more easily allow the teams to navigate the financial restrictions of the trade while also allowing whoever receives Hood to create a little bit of cap space.

good timing

god...if they trade simmons and only get lowry at around $25/year + hood's disappearing $$$, it's gonna be ugly.

From someone else..

Mayo reporting Wizards holding a predraft presser tomorrow, interesting. Is this a normal thing?

Does FVV, and Hood match for simmons?

FVV hood ghost contract and 4 is fine with me.

If we do that and the player we draft turns into another Markelle Simmons Smith, I'm gonna lose my mind.

a fvv/seth backcourt would get roasted on D.

Westbrook to the Lakers heating up.  If that happens, watch Beal get traded to someone besides us.

They were on Sirius last night talking about if westbrook goes before the draft then it’s very beal is getting dealt. Discussed the wizards, Raptors and sixers potentially working out at 3 way deal.

Fvv suggs, or thybulle, or whoever we trade pick 28 for.

He won't be coming here.  That's already known. He doesn't want to.

What is the upside of the Blazers and Dame waiting until the trade deadline to make a deal?  His value won't go up.  And they are risking him getting injured.  If he isn't a part of their future, a few months will not change that.
