They already approved the project of capping I-95 between Market and Chestnut Sts and construction is scheduled to start in 2021, with completion in 2024.

What’s up with the I-95 overcap park?

That's going to be awesome when it's finished.

yeah. more "Accountability" So much for getting a coach thats tough on the players. The coach instead will be hand picked by the players.

The Penn's landing idea looks nice. Itd be a nice area to go spend a while day before the game rather than just showing up for a game.

In the pic above showing their potential building site, I dont see where there will be enough parking.

If the plan was to let the players pick the coach that will cater to their egos and not  hold them accountable, they should have just kept Brown. He was great at that.

What exactly do those 2 clowns know about what they need in a coach?? They haven't won anything!

my guess is Ben Simmons requests Elton interview Ben's brother in law since he was such a spectacular shooting coach.

The Tweet is a little misleading:

Aerial image of the Penn's Landing area where the Sixers are exploring the possibility of building a new arena.

I think it could work - especially if you turn it into an entire entertainment complex with retail, dining, and event spaces.

Old City would turn into more of a party area.  But again.  Where would the parking go?

Wonder where they would move the Coast Guard base.   When I was stationed in VA back in the early 90’s, we had to come up and stay at that base for about a month to help break ice on the Delaware.  It was an exceptional cold winter.  I think it was 92?!  I saw Tombstone in the movie theatre there in Penns Landing.   Man, that seem like another life ago.

Seems a little like trey youngs story. Big time scorer who fell because of size and teams worried about efficiency.

Though trey was a better shooter in college...

But I think the shooting percentage and efficiency are the reasons why Cole fell.

He got banged around a lot.  The whole team suffered an Eagles-like injury bug.  He’s talented but plays awfully frenetic and reckless.  I wouldn’t be shocked if injury problems follow up.  He’s not afraid of contact.  That won’t last long as a guard in the NBA.

Is that I-95? I assume there will be plans for on and off ramps in that area. The problem with having it down in the old city  is that the streets are so tight.

I assume this is just the Sixers asking for something they probably won't get so nobody can say they didn't try to stay in Philly before they take a similar deal to build the arena in Camden.

This ownership group getting it's own arena has always been their highest priority.

Look at how the production for Ben/Embiid on the court together has dwindled over the past 3 seasons.

At first glance, you might say they dont fit together, but 2016-17 they made 2/5s of the best offensive starting 5 in all of basketball.

It appears the rest of the cast around them is to blame.

Its just so hard deciding what to do next because you can see this, and make that conclusion. Yet still feel regret if you keep both of them because you know one of them is always gonna be dealing with some injury, or conditioning issues. And if you just trade 1, you have downside to keeping the other no matter which you choose.

Thought this stat was interesting though. Took it from a segment on ESPN 3 days ago where Pippen said he would trade Embiid, and Richard Jefferson said he would trade Simmons.

By the way, that post really makes a strong case that Elton Brand was the biggest problem and needs to be fired. But I guess we are past that already and not getting it.

🤣

That 2017-18 cast actually had better pieces that fit then the most recent team especially when they got ilyasova and belineli. The most talented team was 2018-19 but the issue was the team basically had its starting lineup Healthy Entering the playoffs for like 9 Games.

This year teams the pieces were so awful as a fit that it was going to decline because the lack of spacing and shooting. I’m not shocked it dropped that much. It is such a crap constructed roster.

Even if Ben and embiid couldn’t work together which is possible it is such a poor and massively flawed roster lacking shooting and space that we still don’t have that answer just due to brand putting a BS roster around then that benefitted neither player.

Yeah... But this stat really illustrates Brand's failings. Rachel Nichols actually pointed that out at the end. And I think the other guys on there (they had a pie chart that showed how much blame people had) had him with 50% of the blame, and then Brown with 25%, and Joel and Embiid combined for another 25% section mostly due to both of their injury histories.

Its maddening that hes being kept.

Been saying that all year. Brown deserved to be fired cause he was with the plan and he wasn’t the coach to get them to the next stage with the development of Simmons and embiid being what it is or lack thereof. But imo brand is the biggest culprit for the Team being as bad as it. It is such a bad constructed team. Heck it doesn’t even fit the style brown wants to play when they hired him. The closest they’ve had was the end of the 2017-18 team. Hard for the sixers to claim Ben and embiid need to be help accountable but they can’t even hold their own front office accountable for this dumpster fire.

If you look at the way the team ran their offense in the last three seasons it changed drastically from year to year.

Year 1 they were all about ball movement, making the extra pass and having high numbers of passes per possession.

Year 2 they ran more ISO and set up the offense with screens and DHO's.

Year 3 was a sheet show. They were slow, boring and couldn't function with a lack of spacing which helped neither player.

Not sure this will be popular in here but I actually like this trade.

Don't think we would trade with the Nets to build on their super team,  but I like the package of talent for Embiid.

Dinwiddie, LaVert, and Allen.

Levert is the perfect 3rd option for them so doubt they do it and just paid DeAndre all that money

Markus Howard is a potential 2nd rounder I like. Yes, he is undersized at 5'11" but he shot 41% from 3. That is what you get with 2nr rounders, they all have flaws but find the one quality they excel at and if fits the team.

He been our pick in a lot of the tankathon mocks.
