**Official Philadelphia 76ers Thread 2022/2023 Regular Season*

Shake did not plateau or regress. He dramatically improved imo on his scoring ability by really getting good at going to the basket, and finishing.  The problem is that he does seem to come and go far too much. Not even just disappear in the playoffs, but much of the regular season too.

I think people have too high of expectations for shake. He was a late second round pick (54). The fact that he can be a 9th man in a rotation for being picked that late is a success. I think our expectations of shake come from we want a better option for our bench then shake who’s fine if he’s a 9-10th guy off the bench.

Shake was thrown in to the starting PG role in playoffs 2 years ago when he wasnt ready for it. So he looked really bad there.

And then he had the shortened covid offseason and somehow came back with all these new skills around the basket last year. I was very pleasantly shocked at how much he added to his game with basically no time. He improved his scoring from like 4, to 9, to 13 points in his 3 years. All we need is more consistency. A regular 13ppg scorer off the bench is a very nice player to have.

that's accurate. he's exceeded expectations for a 54th pick, imo. he's just not consistent enough to be part of the rotation for a championship contender. doode improved his ability to drive last season...while getting worse at hitting threes. i think he might be the odd man out & i wouldn't mind him getting flipped for pg depth.

I think his issue is always going to be consistency which is why i don’t think he could really ever be your 6th or 7th man off the bench if you were trying to win a title. I think he’s fine as a 9th guy. I just think the sixers are asking him for too big of a role and i don’t think he’s capable of being a great 6th man.

They included shooting so Ben passed.

i wonder what the clippers are going to do w/ kawhi probably missing next season. wonder if they'd be open to moving paul george.

Never will happen but i think it would be funny if the sixers just sent him to OKC where he’d absolutely be miserable there.

does siberia have a team?

anyway...back to gsw...wiggins is a pretty bad fit & they don't really have anything else to match salary. unless it's a 3 teamer w/ wiggins going somewhere else, i just don't see it.

Wait why isn’t Kawhi playing next year? I know he was hurt but he won’t be ready?

You’d have to be impressed with wiseman, moody, kuminga in order to do any trade with them.  Really those are the 3 young players they have to offer in a deal. I know the warriors were very high on moody. Wiseman really isn’t a fit with the sixers with embiid here. And kuminga it depends on how you feel about his ceiling and it he reaches it. I am not particularly high on him.

Also the first round picks the warriors have now are garbage anyway. They are likely 25-30 for the next 2 years. Even in 3 years there’s a chance it’s in the 20s. They really are a bad trade partner to matchup with what the sixers would want and need

An ACL takes 9 months and for some reason Kawhi delayed getting surgery for a month so he might not even be  ready for the playoffs. We know Kawhi does whatever the F he wants and gets away with it.

The comments on Twitter criticizing Simmons are pretty good.

Yeah.  No way he goes to GSW without it being a 3 team deal.  Draymond would have to be moved and they have nothing the Sixers would be interested in that they would part with.

Thats the plan. As well as possibly with Drummond. Both are young enough on 1 year deals to have something to prove for their next big money. It might work in our favor.

Drummond will never make a big deal again. He is a vet minimum the rest of his career.

Dennis does what he wants and will try to get own instead of team ball. A reason he is still unsigned.

I think the perception that Shake had a bad year is completely tied to his 3% dropping 8 percentage points from the previous year on a similar number of attempts per game.  Shooters have down years.  It happens.

He wouldn't answer his phone so they sent guys out to LA. I'd love to see video of them showing up at his house.  I bet he told security not to even let them in to the neighborhood. They probably got turned away at the gate.

Probably more bs and I can't find the tweet put someone posted this.

Vin says it’s a 3 way with Beal coming here and Wiggins to the Wiz

I guess I don't get why the Sixers would cave to his requests at this point? He is the one who literally **** all over the court in the 2nd round, destroying his trade value. Now he gets to say hey send me to GSW or else? as he has 4 years remaining? Nah man, I don't think that's how it works.

Honestly why even post this garbage?

Where did you come from?

I think if Buddy Hield is available you do what you can to get him. Kings for some dumb reason don't want him and if can get him for Harris then you figure out later who is your starting forward beside Embiid.

He is one of the five best shooters in the world on a contract that looks better after Duncan Robinson, Fourier, and McDermott signings. Owned 22, 20, 18 the next three years.

Ben Simmons is a **** 🐱

Ben thinks he actually gets to dictate where he goes? Lots of years in his deal still and he tanked his trade value with that pathetic postseason performance. He really has no leverage.
