We are fans and don't need to reserve judgement. If he does something we can change our minds. That's how it works.

The sixers problems were never going to be solved via free agency this offseason. They had no cap to spend due to poor contracts given by brown and brand. Legitimately this team is in the place they are cause the last offseason we were going to have significant cap space to spend brand and the sixers thought it was a brilliant idea to pay 33 year old declining, bum knee and center al horford $100 mil.

has morey done a great job this offseason? I don’t think so but a lot their inactivity besides trading Ben part speaks more to the sixers previous regimes giving out bad contracts and not wanting to give Jimmy Butler a 5 year max and giving it to Harris. Really with all the cap we had after the raptors loss to spend in FA, we have a loss of a 2025 first and green. That’s horrific.

I wasn't impressed with his trade deadline moves. Not moving Scott and Green for a Terrance Ross or Fournier type seemed like an absolute no brainer. Or the Knicks getting Rose for Dennis Smith which is peanuts. The Sixers traded Bradley for Hill who is now gone. For a team in cap hell you need to continuously add teams on longer deals for expiring deals

If they dealt green at the deadline he’s not playing here next year. Would’ve been worth that for ross. Fournier it wouldn’t have been since he’s making nearly $20 mil per season. He would’ve left as a FA and you’d have a hole in your starting lineup or bench. And Fournier basically gave you the same thing as Danny green statistically for the Celtics (3 point difference) and green is a better defender

the rose deal i can understand being upset about they easily could’ve matched that deal and brought him back based off what he made in FA. It also would’ve prevented the hill deal. Also point out the athletic had an article that came out when he got traded saying he wanted to go to the Knicks and play with the thibs again. That was his preference. And the pistons obliged to his request

the George hill trade i don’t think looked bad at the time of the trade. He clearly should’ve done more. But If Hill performed like he did pre-injury that’s a good trade for the sixers for tony Bradley who’s really just a guy. It turned out hill never returned back to that pre-injury form.

As of now we are running it back with the same starting 5. But Danny Green doesnt like how the fans behave, and Ben Simmons clearly doesnt even want to play here at all anymore.

Im sure this will be a fun season.

Not sure how much longer Daryl can delay a Simmons deal. There are those who truly feel its Lillard/Beal or bust. But I really dont think there are that many fans who would hold it against him for taking the best offer out there at this point. Whether it be Sexton and assets, or a deal with the Kings, or Brogdon and assets.

Even if he waits for Lillard, at this point doing Ben plus players and picks you cant even fill out the rest of the roster with league minimum guys because pretty much everyone who can play is signed already. Its kind of too late. Or else we will see the team regress this season even with Lillard on the roster.

It’s obvious Portland wants no part of Simmons and he’s killing us.  Even in the off season.

Doc and Daryl just dont fully get it because they havent been here through all the years of growing frustration with Simmons. They only saw it first hand this year. And already want to trade him, but are still only entering year 2 of their eye opening experience. At that point as fans, we thought he had potential and still sky high value. Thats where they are now. They just arent far enough along in their realization yet, that he really, really sucks and isnt worth what they think he is. They think they can hold out longer and someone will come begging and raise their price. Its not going to happen. Its really frustrating because we have already known it, and have to wait for them to come along and finally catch up. Meanwhile, theyll keep screwing up free agency and trade deadlines until they finally get it.

It amazes me that people expect a player like Lillard or Beal for Simmons. I know everyone is talking about adding a lot of other stuff in to our package. But.... it kind of tells you how far apart their values are and should realize its not too realistic. Sights should be lower. McCollum, Sexton, Brogdon, White... Mayyybe Ingram too if you add some assets. Thats about as high as you can probably hope to go.

Just like free agency where we waited so long hoping to trade for Kawhi we missed out on great players while we had cap space.

They year we actually thought LeBron might want come here. Waited for that and then didnt even get a Paul George.

Just like last trade deadline where we waited till the last second hoping for a Lowry deal and missed out on other trades only bringing in George HIll.

Once again, we have waited, passed other opportunities, focused on Lillard. And its not even a realistic expectation at all.

Good thing the offseason doesn’t end on August 7th….

That’s cute.  But what has ended is pretty all the moves that can be made.   Only chance now is an unlikely trade for Dame or Beal.  And Simmons is doing everything he can to lampoon those chances, by being a petulant child.

Australia won bronze. That's their first medal in Basketball at the Olympics. Tisse played a huge role in the win and killed Luka. Hopefully he can build off this and have a great season.

Exum actually looked pretty good as a defensive PG at times. Someone might take a shot with him, he looked pretty explosive but was a liability with his turnovers and still can't shoot very well.

Congrats on the medal.

As far as Mattise he did it the same way he has been in the NBA. Tons of steals. Some blocks. And mostly single digit scoring. He better get his but in a gym somewhere now and practice his 3 point shooting until the season starts in October.

His 3 point shooting was actually pretty good. He looked competent offensively in all phases. He iced the game with a put back dunk, has been shooting the 3 at a pretty good clip dating back to the exhibition games and had some highlight reel worthy passes. The offense runs through Mills and Ingles so his touches were going to be limited but he looks ready to take the starting role off Green with the way he has played.

I was thinking it could be the quality of opposition, but Australia have played Slovenia, Germany, Italy, USA twice, Argentina twice and Nigeria twice (and they have a boatload of NBA talent). I think at worst he is going to be a really important bench piece. Best case he is in the starting lineup and a DPOY candidate.

I know but I dont trust it. There were games in the NBA he would hit a good rate of 3s. But overall, hes not there yet. With no time between the season and olympics, Im not about to believe that he can now be a consistent 3 point shooter. Glad he had the experience and won the medal. But I think he has a ton of work he needs to do to get ready for another NBA season now.

I'm also annoyed we didn't get Mills. He is going to be a really important piece for the Nets. He is an amazing 3 point shooter, great leader and will give them even more offense off the bench. He would have been a perfect fit in Philly as a locker room leader

yeah me too. I hoped Thybulle could talk him in to it.

It looks like he and Mills had a pretty good relationship. The whole team looks pretty close and Mills was a bit of a mentor for them. It's probably another reason I'm hopeful that Thybulle has a pretty good season. The work ethic is there unlike the other guy who didn't even turn up

Read Dame might have an abdominal injury but he wasn't very good for Team USA.

Nice. We will trade for him and he will miss the season with a sports hernia.

Just taking everything at face value here instead of the baggage/unwillingness to change we know the guy has...one would think the Olympics and Australian national team were the perfect opportunity for Simmons.  What a great opportunity to get off the NBA stage, play some pretty decent competition, and learn how to be the alpha on a team, take some shots, and be the guy scoring some points.

That's just another challenge he shrank away from.

New proposal.  Two seconds and Shake.

Hey what are these guys doing together?

I saw Maxey with a couple of his buds on 16th heading towards Samson last night.  Seemed to be having a good time.  Nice to see him embracing and enjoying the city.  It's a shame if we have to package him just to unload two-five.

Morey is playing this smart, but we now need to consider the fact that Ben might sabotage him. He shouldn’t be in a rush to take the deals on the table (Sexton, Brogdon, Kings, etc.) because they aren’t going away anytime soon. Sitting back and seeing if Dame shakes loose is a free option for now.

The new, complicating factor is Ben’s side leaking about how he isn’t talking to the Sixers. Putting aside what an immature clown Simmons is, Morey has to assess if this changes things at all. If you think some of those deals may be pulled back, then adjust. If not, keep waiting on Dame.

Australia played good team ball and fed off each other. Simmons only knows I and me.
