I just want to keep on giving the counter point lol.  Is that team better with Lavine or Simmons and the surrounding cast?

edit:  regular season Simmons

Well, LaVine is a better player. And then looking at fit Simmons and DeRozan on offense isnt ideal. So LaVine is the better fit as well.

Its better as is. And I dont think a team with that roster is about to break it up. It would take LaVine pulling a Kahwi for them to make a move. I doubt he will do that.

Im not really willing to wait and hope.

Yeah but

Lonzo

LaVine

DeRozan

Markkanen (or trade)

Vucevic

and Coby White 6th man

Much better.

Now if they trade Markkanen for just some pick or prospect thats not starter quality, maybe thats the move that helps a Simmons trade happen. Maybe then they want to plug Simmons in at PF and can plug in Coby at the SG spot to replace LaVine. That team is ready to compete in the playoffs. So I could see them getting just an asset for Lauri and then wanting Ben to step in to the starting lineup.  But again, its a waiting game, and hoping multiple dominos fall. I dont think we have the luxury of dragging this out. I think Ben's value is only going to go down. Whether he plays, or sits out and makes a big fuss.

Wow. The Jets Zhaire Smith'd Denzel Mims

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims used to enjoy salmon, but not anymore. In the spring, he ate a plate of bad salmon that triggered a bout of food poisoning that caused him to lose 20 pounds.

"I haven't touched salmon ever since then," Mims said Wednesday.

Mims, a 2020 second-round pick, missed most of the offseason practices as he dealt with the severe effects. He vomited for two weeks and required antibiotics because of an intestinal infection. He didn't say where he ate the salmon (he wasn't asked), but a source said it was served in the Jets' cafeteria. His weight plummeted from 217 to 197, such a dramatic decline that he's only back to 208 after two months of healthy eating.

"It took a big toll on me," the former Baylor standout said.

Not coincidentally, he got off to a slow start in training camp, slipping down the depth chart and fueling speculation about his future. He has perked up in recent days

He said he doesn't want to shoot 50 3's a game not 50 for his entire life.

6ers were interested in DeRozan

At one point he said he was more interested in playing for a contender than  money. In the end he ended up in Chicago on a Sign and Trade because he went for the money.

It is the east anyone can be a contender in any given season. They have a nice group now they could make a push.

Most teams hopefully don't fall into the trap with the Nets that most did with the Warriors. You are not going to get the group you need to out score them. So get a group that can at least keep up and good enough defense to get stops on them. Trying to outshoot a team like the Nets is a lost cause.

DeRozan was pushing hard to get with the Lakers but, he wanted to come as a package with Lowery, Lakers don't have that kind of money. He is still playing for a contender either way just might not be as big of one as he hoped.

They have a lot of 3 level scorers on the bulls they will be a handful.

[Tom Moore] Just heard back from an #NBA source that the #Sixers' $8.2 million trade exception from the Al Horford deal actually expires Sept. 7 and not Dec. 8 as has been widely reported

Kind of sucks. it’s probably because of the timing of last year’s offseason cause of the pandemic where the move likely would’ve happened earlier except they came back for the bubble

Weird. I never saw the December date. Always knew it was September.

"Simmons, for example, has not cut off everybody in the organization, as has been suggested by several people in the know,’” Philly Voice’s Kyle Neubeck wrote. "Teammates of his have said otherwise, and one of the team’s photographers makes constant appearances with or around Simmons on the west coast. That is not to say everything is hunky-dory, or that the stakes of this offseason aren’t clear to both sides. The relationship between Simmons and Doc Rivers, it’s worth noting, suffered significant damage that some believe is irreparable, though the Sixers would tell you when pressed on this they believe things can be worked out and fences can be mended.”

Jalen Johnson vs Maxey tonight.  Would like to see Jerry Springer d him up also.

You guys are like the ESPN of posters.  That is all they have on their home screen is coverage of D league basketball.  Obviously because they carry all the games.  Who gives a ish?  This past weekend, I had to go to the MLB page to see stuff about the MLB races.  I would think that MLB would take center stage on ESPN now.  Since there are no social justice stories going on......right now.

That Glen Rivers looks dumber and dumber by the day....

Terrible hire.

"You guys keep this Ben Simmons narrative alive, which to me is freakin' insane [with] how good this guy is and all the things he does," Rivers said. "Ben is not a 40-point guy, it's not what he does, he does other things for your team. And I just don't understand why that's not sinking in, in our city. Everybody on the team doesn't have to be a scorer to help the team. Ben scores, but Ben creates scoring for us, that's what he does. If I'm Ben at some point I'd get tired of it. I just would, because he's just too good and he does so many good things for this basketball team, and I keep saying, celebrate him! Celebrate all the stuff he does well, we don't do that enough."

You can watch the Phillies be mediocre.  I will follow the Sixers young guys.  To each, their own.

Right now the 6ers are playing in the summer league. And this is the 6ers thread.

If you dont like summer league basketball, and want phillies news and discussion, I would think you would be in the Phillies thread.

ESPN must know basketball is more entertaining than boring baseball.

Says the guy who came into the Sixers message board to complain about the Phillies not being on his webpage.

Sengun talks to the basketball when shooting FTs.

But at least he makes them.

I'll be in the thread, that I created 😄:roll:and point and laugh at you dorks for wanting to see the end of the bench players...Seriously, are you guys tailgating for these games?  Pre gaming?  Are you loading up on Chalupas from Taco Bell in excitement for a summer league game?  At least pre-season football and baseball, you actually see guys who play in meaningful games.

I do like me some Maxey though.

And yeah....cite ESPN as a logical source of what the people want.

I don't follow the blue coats....😄

I didn't come here for that specific reason.....you know that....right?  I came here to see any news on Ben.  But to be able to point and laugh at you guys is an added bonus.

I would love to attend these games actually. They are in Las Vegas. Thatd be a great time being there, and then going and catching our young guys play.

These games always have players who play in meaningful games. Just about all of our draft picks have played in summer league. And usually exciting 2nd year players like Maxey too.
