thats fair too. It just doesnt make any sense to view it that way. No one would do that trade for Capela. Its the other stuff that matters.

Honestly part of the reason i wanted the 2022 pick to be unprotected is that if embiid gets hurt or begins to decline that pick would be a nice asset to trade along with capela’s expiring contract at that point in time.

good point.

Interesting article details the 6ers development plans. Its more than a new arena. They want a 1 mile stretch of every lot along the river. Planning to build apartments, medical offices, and a school in addition to the arena.

It also calls in to question whether Harris and Blitzer will really stick around to see it all through.

Their lease on The Center runs till (or through?) 2031. And in their development plan, the arena is the last thing to be built. Will they just build the other stuff and sell it? And who wants to live in apartments with constant traffic of a 19,000 spectator arena?

It's all about safety in a big city.  If the Sixers develop it, there won't be any shootings.

Man it would have been nice to have had Jimmy on this team....

Traffic and drunkenness isn't exactly safe.

Not violent crime but not safe.

And the sound of crowds before and after games, along with the inconvenience of traffic is far from ideal.

Also the location. Water on one side and I-95 immediately on the other...

A hotel and tons of transients in and out. A school right there.  I'd also be concerned about human trafficking.

If that's among the best philly has to offer,  that's sad.

Even in this new development if it comes to fruition, I couldn't imagine it a place for kids to live.

Anyone other than Lue

Dawn Staley Would Reportedly "Be Open to Having Discussions” With Sixers

jo still misses jimmy buckets.  how long before he asks for a trade?

Imagine having this lineup:

PG Simmons

SG Reddick

SF Butler

PF Tatum

C Embiid

I was going to copy an article on this here this morning and forgot.

I think he will ask for one this coming season.

I don't see how they can do enough this summer to make him happy.

And he has talked extensively about not even feeling like playing ever since they let Jimmy and JJ go. He admitted he had no motivation this season.

It would be good.

I’d have to put Simmons at forward and Butler at PG with that lineup but yeah, it would be a good starting 5.

Tatum is better ball initiator but the dream never had a shot

If we can combine a couple of picks from this year with Richardson to get Tyrell terry we will be good. On second thought If I'm the sixers, I would trade every pick in this draft and a future first,  and Richardson, Smith, kork  to ensure we come away with both Kira Lewis and Tyrell Terry.

after watching the good playoff teams with dominant guards & wings, trading both ben & jo and starting all over is looking like a better idea.  neither guy fits what works in today's nba.  the process failed.

Where is he wrong?

[Jay Wright] I am not a candidate for the [Sixers head coaching] job. I am very happy and honored to coach at Villanova

All we need is to be healthy. Then address getting a point guard and a shooter. To much repetitive money tied up to trade for Paul. Go get Tyrell Terry and Kira Lewis and we're good. That addresses both needs.

Now if you say the shadow NBA only gave you a couple of options that didn't work, that's different.

great decision for all involved.

We’ve had plenty of occasions where we were "healthy” and still not good enough. We have two "stars” who can only play in the paint. That isn’t how you win in the nba in 2020

yeah, neither of the "stars" can create or knock down outside shots with any regularity....and that's what wins in today's nba.

WINNER!

Best lineup in the NBA in the final two minutes of a game was the Thunder. Three guards stretch four, and a big whose job is to rebound and set screens.

Sixers don't have any of that.
