Thybulle isn't getting packaged with Ben. It will 100% be Maxey. If a team is chasing Ben they aren't chasing another net negative on offense in the same package

Like clock work, the overreaction to summer league games never ceases to amuse me.

Yep. They’re fairly redundant.

Teams that are trading for ben aren't seeing him negatively at all. So right off the bat you can't call it 2 net negative guys on offense ( even if we know the truth).

And I think Thybulle, for some reason despite his age is viewed as a bright young player who can develop.  A lot of teams love collecting 3 and D. They may not necessarily be looking for a SG with the whole offensive package.  He is viewed very positively as a 3 and D prospect. And that's an attractive asset to just about any team.

The difference is Thybulle is at least willing to shoot the 3. If a team feels that they can develop his shot some more to make it more consistent, he’s a valuable 3 and D player. There’s also some recency bias that could be in play after he performed pretty well in the Olympics.

i go back & forth on whether i'd rather include maxey or thybulle with ben in a trade package.  i mean, i'd rather keep both & include shake instead...but i'm trying to be realistic here.

guess it depends who they're trading for.

[Haynes] Free agent guard Lance Stephenson will hold a private workout this morning in Las Vegas in front of NBA personnel with reps from Milwaukee, Denver, Philadelphia and Brooklyn among those expected to attend, league sources tell @YahooSports.

So Lance is gonna blow into Simmons ear and then Ben is going to not return the Sixers phone calls due to sexual harassment

Joel Embiid has the highest career points per 36 minutes in NBA history with 29.26 points, 0.91 more than 2nd place Michael Jordan's 28.35 points

Maxey seems to be establishing himself as a volume scorer. He is a great finisher around the rim. And he looks like his mid-range is very reliable even off the bounce creating his own shot. He shot 87% at the line last year and was perfect last night, like 8/8 I think it was.

When he becomes an average 3 point shooter he will be more than a volume scorer. He will be an elite, efficient scorer.

In summer league currently, his offensive game resembles a healthy Oladipo. The question is how that can translate in to the regular season if he is going to defer to everyone else as much as he did last year. If he gets the green light to jack shots off the bench he will be a revelation for this team. But hes not going to put up those numbers without a lot of shots. Because hes not super efficient yet.

If he can be Oladipo-esque, that does leave something to be desired. But, its amazing for a 2nd year player as young as Maxey is.

You dont trade this guy. The sky is the limit.

I don't see Glenn giving the green light to anyone to jack up 3s. It does not appear to be his style of play for a team

I dont mean 3s. I just mean being the a volume shooter in general. He wasnt assertive on offense last year at all save for a few games. If he was in the game there was always at least 1 starter and he would always defer a lot.

If he is our 6th man and plays upper 20s-30 minutes a game and can put up 15-20 shots he will score a lot of points. Even just at the basket, mid range, and foul line. But the question is, will he begin being that assertive and aggressive?

This post made be look up historical SL stats to see how excited I should get. There are two players who have played multiple SL games that have a higher SL ppg than maxey’s (26) - donavan Mitchell (28) and dame (26.5). Both averaged more FGAs (in Mitchell’s case 7 more).

Granted Maxey is in year 2, but Mitchell came out after his sophomore year and Dame after his junior year.

Others in the top 10 include kawhi, Lou will, and Seth curry.

I don’t think it’s an overreaction to be hyped about his performance.

yep. Hes still only 20 years old. His development is coming at an extremely impressive rate. You cant really begin to think about predicting a ceiling for him. Sky is the limit right now.

He is the same age as 1st rounders from this year such as Suggs, Scottie Barnes. He is still 2 years younger than the Kings promising pick Davion Mitchell. The guy some in here want to trade for from the Kings, Haliburton- Maxey is still 2 years younger than him, from the same draft class.

There is so much time for improvement and he is already looking fantastic and coming along fast.

TBF nobody was throwing Maxey in for Haliburton.

Right.

I wasnt talking about trading him for those players at all. I was comparing draft ages and current ages to express how much more potential Maxey still has.

Whens the next summer league game?

If you watch summer league games players will do certain things that absolutely translate to the regular season and playoffs. Maxey is doing that as are Desmond Bane, Cam Thomas,  Sengun, and Davion Mitchell playing D.

Oh man! Just looked. We play the 3-0 Celtics tomorrow. Gotta take them down. 5:00

4for4 can't post until later.  He is out shopping for food and drinks for game time!  He is proudly wearing his Fultz summer league jersey.

Myles Leonard is still a FA. Sure he makes some anti Jew comments but he would be a good back up 4/5

Scouting report:

-Decent Mobility for size

-Nice shooting touch

-Has had issues with injuries and antisemitism

-Not a great rebounder

Pritchard left the summer league early for some reason. Big loss for the Celtics. The door is open for the 6ers to become summer league champions.

I have been waiting all day for this summer league game, and now I just read no Maxey tonight due to pre-approved plans to go coach a youth camp in Portland.

Maybe we wont be beating Boston.

I wonder if we can get Ben to sub in.
