after watching the good playoff teams with dominant guards & wings, trading both ben & jo and starting all over is looking like a better idea.  neither guy fits what works in today's nba.  the process failed.

agreed!

Tyrell Terry, Skylar Mays, and Jordan Clarkson this offseason and we are in business.

3 scorers, all guards. All attainable with our current available resources.

If any great Joel and Ben trades come along, do it. But those 3 guys are where we need to start first.

Ownership, Bryan Colangelo and Elton Brand failed us. Not "The Process" or Embiid or Simmons.

That said, due to how poor of a spot we now find ourselves in thanks to the aforementioned dopes, trading Embiid may be the only way out.

I'm not trading Simmons.

I'm not trading Simmons.

I am really turned off by Embiid's admission that he struggled to find motivation to play after they let Jimmy and JJ go.

Add that to the injuries, the conditioning, the weight. The fact that hes not going to be too good for very long. Its really probably time before he loses too much value. Plus this team needs a major shake up.

It needs more than a draft pick and an MLE signing.

Another report of mutual interest between Lue and 6ers.

With Wright out of the running, I feel like Lue is their top guy and will be their coach when the Clippers are eliminated.

The Philadelphia 76ers and Ty Lue have strong mutual interest, sources tell Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated

Jay Wright announced on Wednesday that he's not interested in the 76ers' head coaching job, which Mannix reports will cause the team "to aggressively pursue Lue."

The Cleveland Cavaliers parted ways with Lue at the beginning of the 18-19 season and he's currently an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Lue would be an appropriate failure for this team

Terry would be perfect for us.

Another option would be to trade Ben Simmons and all of our second round picks to ensure we end up with both Tyrell Terry and Kira Lewis. In this scenario I would keep Josh and resign him. I would use the 21rst pick to pick a replacement for Ben. But we would need to end up with 3 rookies. Two being Kira and Tyrell. It bothers me that we lost out on a couple of really good players holding on to Ben.

Either Boston or Miami going to the NBA Finals is, without sounding too dramatic, excruciatingly painful and embarrassing for this fanbase who was all in on this rebuild from the jump. Each of those teams are a part of our story in one way or the other over the last few years and they have pwned us and excelled while "we" shot ourselves in the foot at every opportunity.

If these slimey f'ing suits really aren't cleaning house I will not contribute another cent (tickets/merch/viewership) for the foreseeable future/until they're gone.

steve nash just got the nets' coaching job.  real good chance we wind up with lue now.

I love Nash. He was my favorite player.  Would have wanted him here.  Didn't even know he was a coaching candidate.

nash has zero nba coaching experience & was hand-picked by durant. he wouldn't have come to philly.

Nash is a slap into the face of all the associate HC that have been grinding and no opportunity given.

Nets went from grinders and overachievers to prima donna in one year.

"I’m not looking to trade Ben or Joel. I’m trying to compliment them,” the Sixers GM said recently. "They’re 24 and 26 and want to be here. You try to make that fit as long as possible.”

Ironic usage for "compliment" and "complement" here.  I doubt the quote as written is what Elton meant to say but may actually be closer to the truth of the situation.

Lol yeah.  And he talks about accountability but all he has done since the end of the playoffs has been compliment them.

Like it or not,  I'm glad they've done something quickly.

The coach will have plenty of time to meet with brand and discuss the direction of the team.

i don't think there was any kind of miracle coach out there...so i'm fine with lue.  the key will be roster configuration which falls more on brand.

Bwahahaha Lue I mean really

Thank goodness I follow the Grizzlies as well because this team is stuck in purgatory until they trade one of them.

A coach that has great X and O experience or knows how to do that over a players coach would have been better

If Joel wants to be traded, see ya!  Don't let the door hit you on the way out, you chump.  What a useless waste of space.  He is born with all the talent in the world, all he had to do was put 75% of his energy into becoming an elite NBA player.  He couldn't do it.  Too much work.  He would rather focus on other stuff.  The best fake tough guy in the NBA.  I'm done with him unless he comes back next year and lights it up all year.  That includes being healthy and in shape.
