Bwahahaha Lue I mean really

Thank goodness I follow the Grizzlies as well because this team is stuck in purgatory until they trade one of them.

A coach that has great X and O experience or knows how to do that over a players coach would have been better

idk how any coach could x & o this team deep into the playoffs.

I see no reason why we shouldn't give him a chance.

I had concerns about his ties to Klutch sports and that alienating Joel but looks like we might be pretty far down that road already so...

I can't think of any names I'd be excited for.  Maybe when they finally decide to rebuild again, they can luck into a quality GM/Pres of Basketball Ops.  I don't expect any real improvement until the front office issue is resolved.

yeah. Who knows. Outside of Jay Wright excluding himself from our search, it seems the team got their top choice. So at this point, we will just have to see how it works out.

It was rumored Chanucey Billups wanted to be a part of his staff. So, maybe we end up with a nice up and coming coach on the staff. Billups was a really nice player. I dont know anything about him as a coach, but would be happy to have him around. Championship pedigree. All star appearances. Excellent defender. Great shooter. Should have respect of the players if he comes.

The Billups/Lue combo rumor is back again. But I guess Billups may also be considered for HC gigs too.

Chauncey Billups is interested in pursing a head coaching job in the NBA this offseason, sources tell Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Teams have now begun their due diligence into Billups' candidacy.

Billups was in talks to become the Cleveland Cavaliers’ general manager, but he later withdrew his name from consideration.

A report in August indicated Billups had interest in joining the staff of Ty Lue next season assuming the former head coach of the Cavaliers gets a job during this cycle as expected.

So, Covington has actually been the Center for the Rockets.

While we consider lineups with free agents, trades, draft picks etc for next season often times we are leaving Harris at SF or PF in our minds.

I wonder if it doesnt make sense to consider him a 5 in the new NBA. That is, if an Embiid trade were to happen.

Agreed re Jay and Lue being their first choice but it kind of concerns me that the "search" isn't much of a search.  They seem to ID someone and lock in.  Hell, they even tend to draft that way.  I guess I wouldn't mind if I trusted the judgement of the people making the decisions but I don't.

are you saying that you do not trust the process?

I'm saying I don't think their process is any more sophisticated than closing their eyes and throwing a dart.

Yeah thats the thing. We cant really trust them. So days ago when Brand said he was gonna be very patient and cant rush this, it was like... great we will miss out on all the good ones while Brand takes his time. Now, if he lands his top dog... maybe it was too quick and he stupidly locked in on a poor choice.

Just have to wait and see.

Neubeck on twitter says from asking around it seems our search is still open.

Yet, at the same time he is walking back a prior article saying he undersold Lue previously.

This is just some page making a suggestion.. nothing to it.

Gotta say if we are trading either of our stars to the Heat and I cant have Hero I feel ripped off.

Miami Heat Recieve: Joel Embiid

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Bam Adebayo, Kendrick Nunn, Kelly Olynyk (Player Option), Duncan Robinson

something like that for simmons would work...not a trade getting bam, obviously...but maybe a bam caliber guard/wing.

Id be excited for Tom Thibodeau who would be exactly the kick in the arse this team needs. But it sounds like they were locked in on a club med style coach from the start.

Meh, I think Thibodeau wears his welcome out fast especially with spoiled young kids. He had a hard time getting the young guys in Minnesota to listen with wiggins and Karl Anthony Towns who both have the same lack of effort and discipline that embiid and Simmons have.

Along with his defensive abilities it looks like he underrated athletically

Problem is he still will be coaching two losers.

With that Love clip above maybe the feelings are mutual. It may not be the worst thing of we swapped bad contracts of Horford for Love. If Lue has any input on the roster, and a Horford move is one of our few options to do anything maybe Lue pushes for that.

Regardless of whether we stick with Embiid or Simmons in the future, Love fits well with either one thanks to his shooting.

Tyronn Lue probably was the best option left after Jay Wright came out and said he's not in the running for the 76ers job.

The bigger concern is whether Elton Brand is the right guy for GM or not. Bryan Colangelo set the bar pretty low, but that doesn't mean Elton Brand is necessarily doing a good job either.

It's too bad the team didn't clean house altogether. I don't think just bringing in Lue will solve the 76ers woes.

I think over valuing Embiid right here and under value Bam. Heat would rather put together a package for Beal than a big.

Totally different players but I like Bam and what he brings to the table more than Embiid

It could have been Jamal Murray but not he might be untradeable

Yeah if I was the Heat I wouldn't be trading Bam. Especially for a traditional big. Bam is better for today's game.

And for me, I'm not as excited about a big being the best part of the deal.  I'd want Hero in any major deal we could do with them.

Ben should be the five like Draymond does it with the Warriors

But I don't know who takes Embiid at this point and we can't expect any type of value for him.

I've thought that even during the season.  But the reason I said Harris is because in the comp to Covington, both can shoot 3s.

Ben takes the stretch out of stretch 5.

Still wouldn't mind seeing him there at all.  Just wasnt the right comparison to the Rockets scenario.
