I’d argue he doesn’t have anyone remotely as good as embiid on that team. I like middleton but he’s frankly in tobias harris tier but more consistent. And Bledsoe is a worse defending higher paid Richardson. I’d be willing to take the risk of embiid and Giannis for a year. Figure a way to deal horford for role guys.

yeah I agree. Then Giannis would have much greater help than he has had and you dont have to worry so much about him not being enough to be a top dog. The problem is though that Embiid and him will get about 15 games together with Embiid healthy and conditioned and from there it deteriorates till by the end of the year youre stuck with Giannis trying to carry his team through playoffs. But.. hes not skilled enough. So, it really gets us nowhere. Better regular season team. Same results in playoffs.

Eh i think you are likely still a better seed entering the playoffs with Giannis then Simmons. He can at least carry the sixers regular season when embiid is not out there. He’s proven such. Additionally if embiid is healthy for the playoffs you have a much better chance at a title then with Simmons currently. Could they fail? Yes but im willing to take the chance with Giannis who i know puts the work in to get better then Ben who still refused to shoot. If it doesn’t work he likely leaves anyway and you clear cap space and then likely deal embiid anyway.

Rumors swirling oladipo wants to be traded. Sucks we don’t have the prospects or assets to trade them. Best would be harris, Richardson and 1sts and take back bad contracts.

Hope about a Simmons/Oladipo + trade

We need to get a high pick to accompany the player if we trade Simmons. At least between 7-16 pick range and a player. Like to New York for a player and pick. Like rj barrett, julious randle, pick for Simmons.

For the life of me I don't understand the thought of trading for CP injury. But then again the only time we had a chance was with hinkie. I know it's franchise destruction protacol. But I would just dream of "Dream" of out of the box new thinking. But it's the old akeeela and the BS shhhhii all over again.

if you can dump Horford and get a functional point, i'd do it

the second the sixers trade for chris paul, he's gonna turn into carlton.

CP3's contract is Horford contract + $14 more million.  You'd have to dump Richardson and some other scraps too.

Looks like Corey Brewer playing D on Harden.

I dontknow what to make of richardson

feel like he has far more talent than he showed  but our system was refried crap

With the Bucks eliminated from the playoffs, all eyes will be on Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is more likely to opt out and become a free agent in light of the Bucks lack of urgency with surrounding him with the requisite talent.

I'm not sure if the 76ers have a realistic shot of bringing him in from a salary cap perspective, but a lot of these NBA star players are friends with each other off the court. You never know if the prospect of playing with Embiid and Simmons is more enticing to Giannis than we think from the fan perspective, despite the imperfect roster fit. Giannis will not solve the perimeter shooting woes, but he's an elite top 3 player in the league, when he's on his A game.

Didn't they already bring in Tyronn Lue to be the next head coach, or was that just rumor/speculation??

I'm guessing the latter if this guy is tweeting Donovan as a 76ers HC candidate.

We talked about this the other day. I actually think the bucks are going to be more willing to listen to a trade because I don’t think he’s going to commit to a Supermax after this year. I actually Think the package of Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, thybulle and a pick for Giannis and a contract the bucks would like to get off the hook for would probably be up there with one of their better packages. Now is Giannis a good fit with embiid? It’s not great but I would argue it’s still better than what we have Ben Simmons. I’d also argue embiid is the best player that Giannis would have ever played with in the nba. The issue becomes if you give up all that there’s A chance he leaves at the end of the 2020-21 season and you have nothing in return.

I would also add on top of your points that Giannis has the killer instinct intangibles with regards to work ethic and humility that set him apart from Embiid and Simmons. Giannis is the better player to build around anyways. If it costs us Ben Simmons, so be it. No more Brett Brown coddling Ben Simmons because of his ties to the Simmons' as a family friend. Then again, he's already fired so it's already a win.

Donovan leaving points to an okc rebuild aka trading chris paul.

I thought it was pretty impressive that he got Oklahoma City to the playoffs as the five seed. Even before the stoppage that team was playing well above where they should’ve been. Granted they have Chris Paul and that makes a huge difference but he did a great job with sga.

He also has players respect. He coached on the USA team. I think guys would respect him. I actually have a friend who was on the graduate assistant coaching staff when he was at Florida. Absolutely loves the guy

Im sold

theres been multiple reports of mutual interest, strong mutual interest, Lue being their top candidate or at least top after Jay Wright...

At one point recently it did almost sound like it was a done deal based on the strong indications in tweets. Someone Neubeck? was backtracking on a previous article where he was tough on Lue, then saying he was pretty good... almost as if he knew he was the coach...

But no it was never actually stated that he was hired.

Ive just been assuming he will be hired as soon as the Clippers are eliminated.

yeah re: Donovan- the Thunder pick was never supposed to convey to us this year. That right there tells you his team overachieved the expectations.

I wonder if him being here makes it that much more likely Paul comes?

-Donovan might campaign hard to have him.

-If the Thunder show him the respect of being such a vested veteran in the league and give him some say of where he is traded to, maybe Donovan makes this a more attractive destination.
