I despise tanking, but hopefully it leads to better players, and a new coach.

Its not as bad as the process years but, yeah its pretty bad. Watching the development of Maxey (which has stalled lately)  has been the lone bright spot

For me it’s worse.  Then, we had numerous young players developing and legit hope to be good.  This year is nothing but hoping for a miracle trade of Simmons.  I guess I enjoy the ascent  more than the decline, even if the team is actually better.

are there still those who think the process was worth it ?

Yup. Its wasnt allowed to play out to completion

You mean the tanking?

The team has made enough dumb trades and choosing Ben over Jimmy since then to demolish this team to what it is now.

Had we known it would be cut short and screwed up by sucky GMs after Hinkie, no. But it was the right idea and would have loved to see it allowed to go to completion.

The process was worth it.  The league forcing Hinkie out killed the huge net of picks he procured and destroyed the intent of it.

The process wasn’t the problem. The idea and doing what they did was the smart decision. They were going to be stuck in purgatory and eventually trade away those pieces and ultimately either be stuck further in purgatory or eventually get to the point of bottoming out.

The execution of the process (particularly picks and stupid signing of horford and re-signing of harris) was Bad. First not letting hinkie finish what he started, poor draft selections and then bad gms making bad decisions like letting butler walk, signing horford, trading picks for fultz when there were some in the organization that didn’t want him, trading bridges and re-signing harris.

By the time horford happened the process had already ended.

Would have loved to see how Hinkie would have spent that money,  and all those picks.

Meanwhile, in Houston.....seems like they are doing something very similar no?  In Oklahoma City?  Similar?  Don't see the NBA jumping down their throats.......

How is Houston doing the same thing? They traded Harden last year and were playoff for 8 to 10 years prior to that.

OKC, maybe but they made the playoffs with Schroder, SGA, and Paul in 19/20 season.

The Process:

Watched Haliburton play without Fox and he is a different player. Went for 21points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds and 3/5 from 3.

Halliburton is a stud. Kudos to them for taking the right player even though they had a guy. His efficiency is crazy for his age.

Wizards are falling apart and Beal is a FA at the end of the year

Like Harrell, point guard Spencer Dinwiddie did not directly criticize anyone. Dinwiddie also noted he supports Bradley Beal receiving more shots than anyone else. But when Dinwiddie was asked why his own numbers and assertiveness have dropped off dramatically in recent weeks, he noted that the Wizards employ an "equal-opportunity system” on offense in which everybody other than Beal takes a nearly uniform number of shots per minute. – via Josh Robbins @ The Athletic

Everything went south after drafting Simmons.  It's not all Ben's fault, naturally.

But...they had top 3 picks in multiple, multiple drafts.  Enough other draft capital and salary space to add more cornerstones.

The process of tanking put the Sixers in position to build a dynasty.  The fact that it all went wrong after they got the assets is not an indictment of the process.

Its 90% his fault.  If he put 50% effort into his career, we are probably winning at least 1 championship.

Games postponed.

whats this? no more NBC Philly?

May be an image of text that says 'We wanted to let you know as soon as possible that on December 31, 2021, NBCUniversal is shutting down NBC Sports Network therefore it will no longer be available on Hulu + Live TV. Select NBC Sports Network programming will move over to USA Network.'

Good. NBA should try to be on the big networks not locals only.
