i think paul is known for being an a-hole....so maybe he'll get embiid & ben to start caring...idk.

salary wise, it will take something like horford + richardson to match what paul makes...and okc might want a pick as well.

I'm not hellbent on Paul moreso hellbent on unloading Horford for a G who can shoot at the bare minimum.  Paul is an added bonus that he can run an offense and play defense.  Hield is a fit from a pure shooting aspect only.  Not really sure who else would be available.

But it's not like he forgot how to coach. I've seen enough really well coached playoff series from him over the years to be excited if he's the guy. I've always regarded him as one of the top 5 coaches in the NBA. This year didn't really change my opinion.

i agree, i get so tired of this narrative that a coach in general all of the sports has to be a hof championship coach or we'll hate this hire and that hire because he never won anything like it means nothing in sports because the roster has to be talented too. i mean look at the phillies with joe and the panthers with q nothing came out of it. talent is what makes coaches great, not coaches makes players stars.

If Doc can be an above average coach, run off some or all of the Colangelo lackeys, and convince the front office that you actually need guards on your basketball team, I'll be ecstatic with this hire.

I think Doc is exactly what they want in a big name with a history of winning, even if he can't replicate it here due to the incompetent FO.

Personally I've decided I want Doc named coach just so I can hear Marc Zumoff refuse to call him Doc while calling every game for however many years he lasts in the position.

If he wins a couple of championships here then he becomes "The Doc".

Breaking news as a complete surprise to all the Sixers hire Mark Jackson as the new head coach........ That is what I fully expect to hear.

i'm really not excited about the idea of 33 y/o chris paul.  if it gets rid of horford, maybe...but i don't see them actually winning anything with paul.

The thing about Chris Paul is that he is an on the floor general. He makes everyone else a better team. I don't know how or why that is, but looking at this past year I fully believe they over achieved do to Chris Paul

Who is your TOP 5? Because I see no where he fits in.

And blowing THREE 3 1 doesn't happen by accident

Nurse is better than Doc IMO. I think Vogel is really good too but he doesn't have the hardware yet.

Nurse I thought of right after I posted. He’s very good.

5 year deal. Im thinking ownership didnt skimp on this one.

Sources told ESPN on Thursday that one serious possibility to join Rivers' staff is Alvin Gentry, who in August was dismissed as head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans after five seasons.

man.

If doc could work his magic he had with Tobias, and get the most out of Embiid. And if Gentry can bring his boys Jrue and JJ

Championship!

Sixers assistant coach Kevin Young also interviewed for the head-coaching job and made a strong impression on the organization, sources said.

The Sixers also interviewed Clippers assistant Ty Lue this week, sources said, but Lue is emerging as a strong candidate to replace Rivers with the Clippers.

Prefer doc over lue at least
