The Nets dealing Harden now tells Durant they are done with that experiment and he is gonna have to run with bench players the rest of the season and ( Simmons). I don't see the Nets doing that, I think they see this through and try to get a championship with Harden on their roster. Then blow it up in the summer.

Durant wants Harden to stay.

Supposedly Harden has been saying he wants to stay.

He’s not going anywhere

Yeah.  Probably not this season anyway. Nets aren't going to piss off Durant

Good, don’t want Harden.

Harden and Embiid would be unstoppable.  But it’s not happening.  Hopefully they trade Simmons for some decent role players and add some depth.  Otherwise it’s another wasted season of Embiid’s prime.

Morey needs to trade Simmons in the next few days and just take the best deal he can get.  I think most of us will be incredibly disappointed if he doesn’t.

Harden is an enigma to me, but obviously Morey likes him.  I mean, he was the centerpiece of Morey’s Rockets team.

So glad the Sixers brass doesn't listen to the impatient crowd.  Many if not most fans understand that there are long term ramifications at stake, so the team needs to get it right - not get it done before the trade deadline for the sake of getting it done before the trade deadline.

Oh, and seeing Simmons bleed money at this stage is just an added bonus.

What makes you think he will be more attractive after not playing at all?  Just the contract?

It's easier to get a deal done in the offseason when there are contracts expiring for one thing.

There are teams droolling at the prospect of landing Simmons.  That's not changing.

Well, I disagree with the folks who think we can’t compete for a title this year.  With the right player/players in a trade they’ll be in the mix (assuming Embiid stays healthy of course).

Goric seems destined for the Mavs and Ibaka would get a lot of minutes with the Nets. No one else would move the needle

lol. I remember the 12/15 deadline when more guys became tradeable after signing contracts earlier in the season. The wait crowd said something would likely get done then. Well, that didnt happen. On to the next date I guess.

If teams were "drooling” over the prospect of landing Simmons he’d be gone by now. If multiple teams wanted him that badly it would be a bidding war. That clearly isn’t happening.

That's just stupid.

Just as we have seen over and over again with every team that has put a good faith offer forward, Morey asks for the sun, the moon, and the stars from all of them.

Its to the point where it really seems like hes not truly interested in trading Ben. Its more like taking calls from other teams is just a dog and pony show and Morey intentionally is turning teams away just to make Ben sit an entire year out of spite.

Its the ONLY explanation. No GM can really be this delusional. Especially not one who has been so good as to build the reputation Morey has over his career. Hes supposed to be good so how else do you explain this stupidity?

I believe it.  The counter-offer for Ben from Morey in this case is beyond preposterous.  There's no way you can be that sick to think a one-trick pony, who also happens to be a locker room cancer and malcontent, is worth that haul.  It's NEVER gonna happen.  There has to be an agenda here.

Again, you can tell who negotiates contracts for a living and who doesn't.

There definitely is. And any GM who puts his ego/power trip above the betterment of the team should be fired.

Morey's obsession with #winning by spiting Ben is affecting the teams chances at a championship. It is affecting enjoyment of the season for countless fans. I cant tell you how many people have expressed that they just cant seem to get that interested in this season for the 6ers. Its kind of blah. Its because the stupid Simmons saga is hanging over the entire year like a dark cloud.

I also saw a fan post on realgm about the team pushing back the season ticket renewal deadline. The theory is that they feel people are cancelling, and the team is hoping to see a resolution to this situation prior to season ticket renewals. Because that can renew enthusiasm for the team moving forward.

Morey is just monumentally Fing this whole thing up.

Maxey's shot looks so rushed sometimes, but then it goes in like butter.  Truly a quick release with a payoff.

Stop reading rumors......  It's all misinformation being spread by 3 different parties.

99% of what is out there is BS.

The reason these reporters get scoops on trades/signings is because they're willing to tweet misinformation on behalf of GMs, Players and Agents during the negotiation process.
