I don't believe that. Dude just loves to ball and Simmons is a good teammate for him

I think he loves the ball but I also think he wants to win more titles before his career ends. If Kyrie opts out (who knows) and Simmons is what he is i wouldn’t be so sure KD doesn’t ask out.

The most interesting dynamic I'm looking at with the Nets is how Durant and Kyrie look when the same spacing issues that Ben creates hits them - when nobody has to respect the perimeter when Ben is out of the paint and they can double up on either guy.  How is that gonna look and are they planned around that issue.

He will work perfectly for them and play the dunkers spot. They can go small against every team except Sixers.

You know Simmons is going to go to Brooklyn and win a championship - this is our fate

Based on who was actually playing...we swapped Seth Curry and Andre Drummond for James Harden. Not sure how you can't love this.

What's going to happen if we meet in the playoffs?  Give him some ecstacy and put a diaper on him?

He and Kyrie will swap. Ben sits out the games in Philly, Kyrie sits out the games at home.

Not a ton but I think he did a bit. Good move. I preferred others. We will see.

My big letdown is that he didn't find a way to work Harris into the deal and shed that contract.  That said, it's been alleviated to a degree with the rotational players...but I REALLY hate losing Drummond.  I can't remember a formidable bench center than him in recent history, at least for us.

That's my issue right now as well and he has another hour to go. Maybe he gets one.

I just don't see it. Brooklyn will hate playoff Ben. This will allow every team the Nets face to double Durant the entire game because you don't have to account for Ben on offense. Durant will hate this move even more than the fans.

Not only that you gotta keep Tobias Harris and Danny Green. This is important because Danny Green is an expiring contract next year and at the trade deadline in 2023 Tobias Harris becomes even more valuable because he is an expiring contract the following year. So you can still make moves next year to add around James Harden and Joel Embiid

Don't fall in love with a back up big that shouldn't get more than 12 minutes in the playoffs

So what's the starting 5 now?

Harden

Maxey

Harris

Thybulle

Embiid

?

Valid point.  It's more that Drummond was so productive in the minutes he had.  Yes, I'm flagrantly clinging to his 23-rebound game a bit here, but he definitely made the most of his minutes in general.

I'd think Green keeps starting for shooting, but Thybulle probably closes out games if we have a lead.

Harden / Maxey / Green / Harris / Embiid

How did it go when he was off the court last year vs Atlanta? Not a huge deal but they need one.

The buyout market will have options.

Its time to focus on whats important.

that HE was talking out his ass again

Darryl Morey came in as a huge offseason acquisition. The star GM. And after over a year,  his big move was to get us a 33 year old, declining, malcontent scorer.

Big deal.

I think the value was pretty fair.  I think Harden will help the offense.

It's great to get rid of Ben.

There were better deals to be had.  This is very temporarily exciting.  There will be a price to pay.  Everyone will hate this trade soon enough.

If Morey is worth his salt, his job is only beginning.  He now needs to find a way to plug holes on this depth chart.  And how to regain optionally with this team in the future as Harden falls off a cliff in a year or 2.

If this team comes up short this year again,  what other moves are left to be made to improve? He's got to figure that out.

Looks about right to me barring a crazy last-minute deal for an unforeseen, starting quality player that supplants one of those names.

I could see that - with Matisse still getting more minutes than Green.

That’s about it. Need to bring on a backup center to replace Drummond, hopefully someone decent in the buyout market. Could still use another backup guard.

What holes do the Sixers have?

Have to think you could get Robin Lopez

You rest Maxey and Harden at different times in the playoffs and both run the point

Surprised Eric Gordon hasn't been traded.

millsap is pretty washed at this point so hopefully morey has toweled off and is on the phones looking for a big.

Patty Mills would have been a lot nicer.

Yeah but even before the trade they needed another guard off the bench. Unless you anticipate Shake to come back from what seems like a never ending injury to give you productive minutes
