One of Ben's complaints was getting drafted to a team with title aspirations almost immediately and never having time to grow and play without pressure. He got traded to a team with title aspirations who everyone now is talking like should be favorites with Ben. The pressure on the team has grown because of his presence. I wonder how he likes that.

Honestly the best place Ben ever could’ve gone was the rockets who were in a complete rebuild so he could just develop and do what he needed to without any pressure. The kings were probably the second best even though they just want to make the playoffs.

Now we wait for Ben Simmons to take an ad out in the paper and thank the fans…..

He will be the pick man and roll to the basket and play in the dunkers role. I will bet he doesn't play on the perimeter in this offense.

Ben could be good in that spot. unless all 6’1 / 163 LB of Trae Young is between him and the basket.

I'm sure he will love that lol!

I think we just watch basketball differently

Simmons was a great cutter for the Sixers and where he thrived since he mainly took shots in the paint. Now no 7 footer that also needs that space so pick and roll with KD and Irving will work. They can also use staggered screen and floppy screens for Ben to get open and drive to the paint.

Will he make his shots or FT, who knows but to think Nets didn't also benefit in this trade is dumb. They got a guy to guard Giannis and Harden so KD doesn't need too and a guy that is great in transition

I am curious how the Maxey and Harden relationship will develop. Harden can be a bad influence as a malcontent, strip clubbing party boy, ball hog. OR, he can show Maxey a ton of tricks to be an elite scorer, and help his playmaking ability for himself and for others as well.

If Maxey can stay out of the superstar party stuff, stay working, and still have a close enough relationship with Harden to be right under his wing on the court and in practice, this would be ideal.

Draymond is a low 30% career 3 point shooter, but he'll take them if you just ignore him. Ben won't.

Oh and if Ben's rolling to the basket at the end of the game...send him to the line.

Draymond can also shoot FTs. For his career he’s a 71% shooter. (This year he’s 60% career low but also a much lower attempts). If Simmons could be that he’d actually be aggressive and not be afraid to go to the line. He’s not wired like draymond cause draymond could go 5-10 but not care, thinking he’s awesome and still do what he does

You missed my point.  He demanded he would only be a point guard here.  When you put him the dunker spot full-time, eventually he will complain.  It's Ben we are talking about.

If he's not the PG, he can't get triple doubles. Can't make all-star games. That's all he cares about.

That is one thing you don't need to worry about with Maxey.  He would not have gotten this good, this quick if he was easily distracted.  He is 21 but acts like he is 30.  He will suck up all the basketball party of Harden and let him stripclub by himself.

ben will get to play pg for home games.

I know I'm being too optimistic, but I'm hoping Harden will be motivated to stick it to Kyrie and KD and will be focused for the rest of the year.

We are basically team spite now.

Guys party at Delilah’s for welcoming James harden and Ben’s get the F out of town party 9EA4F144-BEA0-4AA8-8784-A27DEF55A1BC.thumb.jpeg.09322335babaab3e93ee54d2665da60c.jpeg

But Maxey does deserve to see some boobs too.

Win a championship and I'll take him to the club myself and pick up the tab.

This. In the playoffs, it is 4 on 5. Just hack Ben if he touches that ball. We've seen that movie before.

For real. It's as reliable as "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Day. We'll be quoting that playoff series line by line.

My initial response was going to be "Can I come too" and as I was typing it, I could feel the wrath of posts to follow.

One other point about Ben in Brooklyn, the Sixers players and staff were supportive of him, to a fault. Durant may play nice with him to begin with, but when his refusal to shoot starts to cost the team, that party will be over, because he’ll get on him about it, and not in a nurturing way.

I was going to say it because I love handouts!
