I was totally anticipating getting fleeced this offseason to shed ourselves of Al Horford. 21st pick, the remaining attractive early 2nds, even Thybulle... not having to worry about that anymore is really freaking relieving. Just the thought of possibly winning trades again is so refreshing and exciting.

I feel like maybe we won't just sell all 4 of our 2nd round picks this year.  Which is nice.

Well good news then

(An analysis by Jared Dubin of FiveThirtyEight found that the players and draft picks Houston acquired in trades under Morey produced far more value than the players and picks the Rockets gave up in those deals.

Was the small ball scheme his or D'Antoni's?

Dantoni has been running that same dumb scheme since his days with the suns. Probably before that.

Yup and only gets you so far. Once you have to play good defensive teams and half court offensive teams his scheme goes to sheet

holy smokes!

This would be a cool trade. Help in the present and future

76ers acquire Chris Paul, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Thunder acquire Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, 2022 First-Round  Pick

Been gone.  But now back.  Love the Doc Rivers hire.  And love the Morey hire.  Now trade Embiid and Simmons and start this whole thing over.

This is getting good

Kind of feels like why would the thunder trade SGA away if they believe he’s going to become a star which it’s beginning to look like that. Bleacher report had a deal for the sixers of

Simmons, 21st

for

markkanen, lavine And 4th overall

makes more sense to me as the bulls would want a star. You get two guys who can stretch the floor and the 4th pick to either deal away for a veteran or package with harris or horford and actually get good back.

I would do that deal

yep

Decent article here. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2915414-2020-nba-draft-buzz-emerging-point-guards-and-latest-rumors.amp.html

My 2 nuggets of note.

Only 10 visits allowed for teams. So those are important to watch to know who we are legitimately interested in.

And 6ers have been showing interest in Tyrrell Terry. Very nice. Other teams mentioned were Lakers and bucks. But we will be picking before them.

I dont know where this is coming from but Jalen and Jacoby are talking about an Embiid for Westbrook trade.

That would be the worst trade to happen and those two are idiots.

A Westbrook who turns 32 in November, relies on athleticism, will take a midrange jump shot with 17 seconds left on the clock, and shot 25% from 3 on 4 attempts.

He is the absolute worst player to put besides Simmons, bunch of dummies.

I think Jalen was trying to sound smart by saying something he knows didnt make any sense, and trying to make it sound like it makes sense.

He said its not "Moreyball" but Moreyball isnt just about 3s. Its also about layups and dunks. And the rockets missed 27 3s in a game against GSW when it mattered and sometimes you need guys who you can rely on getting to the rim, and FT line. And "nobody is stopping those 2 from getting to the rim." (Little does he know Ben consistently stops himself from going to the rim). He said both have figured out how to play, and flirt with triple doubles all the time without taking a jump shot. Basically said get those two, and surround them with shooters.

Yeah... Im out on that idea. Go get McCollum.  Or do the Chris Paul and ShaiG trade posted earlier.

The Houston Rockets are not interested in trading James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in a package centered around Ben Simmons. With Daryl Morey joining the 76ers, there has been speculation he might attempt to acquire Harden with his new team.

"I've already been told with a few expletives included by somebody with the Rockets: 'No, Daryl, James Harden for Ben Simmons is not happening. Don't ask,' said Tim MacMahon on the Brian Windhorst podcast.

"It's not up to the Rockets, is it?" replied Windhorst, referring to the possibility of Harden asking for a trade at some point.

"The answer is no on that," added MacMahon on whether Houston would trade Harden for Simmons.

MacMahon previously reported this week that the Rockets are 100 percent committed to continuing to build around Harden.

but they didnt say no to Harden for Embiid.. Hmmm

I have read Simmons since 2017 leads the league in assists from made 3 point buckets.

I don't know how that helps in the Sixers situation but is something.

To me Embiid and Simmons just don't work together and the sooner they get rid of one then the Sixers can actually move forward. It doesn't matter if Doc is the coach, Phil Jackson or Fing Red Auerbach.

It is frustrating because that pick and roll would be dominate, but Ben is a child and refuses to shoot.

Im very much in to seeing what kind of haul we can get for Simmons or Embiid.

But the truth is that though we no longer think they can play together, that 2016? season when they had Dario, Covington, JJ, Belinelli... they were the best offensive team in the league.

So... If Morey and Brand focus on finding shooting with all of our draft picks, and MLE, then they can transform this team in to something resembling that. And suddenly, we might not be complaining about Joel/Ben not being able to play together anymore.

It’d be foolish to break up Ben and Jo without seeing a competent coach and roster around them. They’re not moving either one of them this offseason.

I doubt a coach is going to get them both to grow up simultaneously.  Their issues aren't coachable.  It is character.

If he is there at 21 at this point
