He is coaching the browns defense

Oh I didn't even know that LOL. BTW the Browns defense ranked #1 overall,so we let the wrong guy walk. I don't really keep up with coaching moves. I just do the birds

On my Ainias Smith pick in round 5,I doubt he stays there. I expect him to move up into 4 at least. If he does I would have NP selling off 2 round 5's to move up into 4 for him. I love his film. he would be a perfect fit for us in the slot

Could be a good move for them. They need a spark

Well let’s hope he comes to the same conclusion here then.

What if he actually likes the plan?

Once again if Siri had a plan it should have been implemented in week 13. If he had a plan we would not have been blown away by AZ or the gnats if he wanted to ensure his continued employment. After going 1-6 having a plan is a little late

You can't implement a plan to replace players week 13.

True, all I am saying is the plan you HAD failed when we faced above .500 teams( and also lost to the Cards really???) So after 3 years your plan stopped working? And you're going to come up with a "new" plan in 2 days before you meet with Lurie?

Yes...because a huge part of " the plan" should involve replacing players... which you couldn't do week 13.

From a coaching standpoint... there needs to be the guy who can simplify the game for our QB.   Play designs that involve less decision making.  That take advantage of his threat to run the ball.

Well it's better than a consultant. If siri goes then I would take him as HC. Pete has already been "demoted" but as a DC it's not as far a demotion as "consultant" which is basically only a title

A consultant has a life. . A coordinator lives the job.  At his age.... consultant much better than a coordinator.

If he was the DC here and Siri screws up next year(assuming he stays),BOOM,your next coach is already in the house

Which is the wrong approach.   Seemed like that was the approach with Desai.    Not good business.

The coaching was a complete mess way to much stepping on toes.

Siri overriding the OC and play caller, the whole DC situation…. All around cluster F on the coaching side of things

Hard to ask players to take responsibility and hold themselves accountable when it didn’t seem like the coaches were doing that

Then we can write next year off.

Because no matter what...it won't work?

That’s my view of it yeah. And look I may be wrong but I really don’t think Sirianni being able to fix things.

Because logically.... a coach who just had 3 winning seasons... with basically a bad start to year 1 and bad finish to year 3.... all those games won between the middle of year 1 and week 12 of year 3....   a couple of coaching changes and a bunch of new players...

That has zero chance to work?

"A source described Johnson as having to fit his own philosophy within an offensive structure belonging to Sirianni. And just how much autonomy Johnson has as a playcaller is unclear. Sirianni has acknowledged that he'll step in to overrule a call on occasion, as he did on a critical third-and-long play against the Washington Commanders in Week 4 when Johnson wanted to pass and Sirianni dialed up a run, which didn't pan out. The line is blurred enough that some offensive players don't know for sure who is calling the plays and when, a team source said."

Hard to fix some problems especially on the offensive side of part of that problem in the HC to begin with. Sounds as though Siri going to have to be willing to change and bend his structure give more freedom to his coordinators if this is to turn around

I agree....I don't think ONLY Sirianni can fix things.   I also don't think ONLY Sirianni built it all in the first place... nor do I think ONLY Sirianni messed it up.

That's the whole point.

The group together needs to build it back up.   It's not a fix.  It's a plan going forward.   We need new players first....that's the main thing.   That can't be done yet.   But the plan for new coaching and changing a few philosophies... that can be discussed and have the process start now.

If they are on the same page...then why not

The problem you seem to have here...or where we differ.   I'm not worried about fixing 2023...  that's done.  That team with those players...done.    I'm focused on new players with new coaches and philosophy.

I mean...surely we can agree...2022... better coordinators and better players right?     So why can't same Owner, GM and coach who won in 2022...can't do it again if they improve the other pieces like they had before?

Mmmmmm your the head guy the blame falls fully on Siri if the staff he put together was lack luster just like it falls fully on Siri that he made a stupid DC change after being 10-1

and we can say sure our roster was better in 2022 but are roster this year was good enough to be 10-1 before falling what 1-6 to finish mmmmm with a humiliating playoff showing. Because even if our roster wasn’t good enough to compete with SF or Dallas it wasn’t bad enough to be destroyed by NY or TB

Like with his previous guy.... they seemed to mix well?  Why is that?   We don't know for sure do we...  hard for me to believe Siri just let Steichen do 100% on his own?   Easier to believe that they were more on same page.  Do we get a guy like that?  Reich would seem to fit that right?   Idk.

One thing... Steichen seemed better at avoiding situations where Hurts has to think too much.   And always seemed to have the threat of QB running as a part of what the defense had to worry about.

While all this anger toward the coaching...  i think we skip the limitations that our QB has in his game, and really how his OC avoided them in 2022... and also how many 50-50 balls helped.  Plus we see the obvious difference in the running this year.  Nobody feared it.

7 pro bowl players on offense....but not the QB?    That's gotta be a first.

And we can’t even say our offense was worse then last year since it’s essentially the same team unless we are saying Sanders and Seumlo were that huge of a loss to that side of the ball our entire team offense fell off

Who hired the coach???? It’s Siri fault no matter how you look at it

Part of being a good HC is the ability to replace your coaching staff
