Presser wording I want to see change. Instead of " we need to do better", I want to hear, "we played out best and got beat by a better team". The phrase "we need to do better" when you get your butt kicked or your players take plays off, is pretty much known and we don't need to be told that at every presser. I think most fans are aware when you lose you need to do better, or even if you win, the goal is to keep improving, so for me this statement(we need to do better) is just BS "fill" with no meaning. If you want to site certain plays just say it. "That failed 4th and 2 sure hurt us and that call was on me" I think honesty would be much appreciated,or say "we played as hard as we could play and I have no regrets,we were simply outgunned" instead of the same overused battered line every week.

Ham,

Here is your sell.   Tell me if you would be sold on this.   You have a favorite coach... you could play for him.   The team he coaches is better.   The city where he coaches in fits more of your cultural background.   The city where he coaches in is closer to your family.

But... you can get his assistant ... keep playing for the worse team.  And you have been on the inside with all the dysfunctional organizational stuff.   Plus look at points you already made with your own concerns... Siri isn't proven at all, never even called plays.   Siri vs Reich.... is it close?      I don't see it.

As for Lurie, your team sucks... you have this QB you drafted, you can save cap space, and you can get assets in a trade.    If your team isn't going to be good, why would you want to keep the QB.

To be honest, if I had to guess.... the day after the Green Bay game, there was contact between someone and Wentz' agent, basically letting him know, we would love to have him here in Indy.   Is it illegal.... not if the agent has a player already on the team and the call is about that player and through passing they bring up Wentz.   How are you going to prove anything, this stuff happens all the time behind the scenes.    By the time the season finished, I absolutely think Wentz and Lurie knew he was done.  Howie and Doug maybe, maybe not.   But looking at Hurts... Doug would be the last guy you want coaching a running QB.   Besides all the issues with the staff ...etc.   Doug was way worse for Hurts than he was for Wentz as far as play-calling and game plans....etc.  It's not his style of offense.       Siri has experience with Brissett... the running type QB.   Much better fit.  He hires the QB coach that knows Hurts...etc.

But yeah, Siri was to try to keep Wentz?????      Other than the fact Reich liked him, there is way more pointing it in the direction of Hurts.   and that's a brutal sell.... " hey you can go date your wife's best friend and go to McDonalds.... or you can go eat with your wife at a nice restaurant.   Is the choice hard?

Jacoby Brissett ran the forty in 4.9 seconds. Just because he is black doesn’t make him a running QB. Wentz is probably more of a running QB than Brissett.
Wentz wanted out because he lost the team. You can talk about the coaching situation here. But that was a very large part Wentz doing. He got people fired.

We owed Wentz boatloads. So the team still wanted to salvage and attempt to fix him. Rumors were he was going to force a trade to the Colts. So we raid the Colts staff to try and keep Wentz. But Wentz image in Philly was ruined. He’d actually have to reclaim his position. Not something he has the backbone for. He believes he’s the golden child. He wasn’t going to fight for his job. Bunches of the players here already sided with Hurts. This is after they sided with Foles. Wentz still had to prove himself. So for Wentz the easiest thing is ...bail.

Mostly terrible idea here. You don’t want to admit your team just isn’t good enough. Not in this league of parity if the NFL. Most every team could have done better. Better game plan. Better playcalls. Better execution. To admit you just weren’t good enough to ever win means everybody should be fired and the team torn apart and rebuilt. Game is based on confidence almost as much as anything else.

Felt to me like there was a quick pause after Siri’s hire. They wanted Wentz back.
Pedey coached Donovan McNabb, Alex Smith and Mike Vick. But sure Siri coached Brissett he ran a 5.0 forty. One of the most unfounded and wrong things you’ve ever said. No idea how you came to the conclusion Siri had more experience than Pedey with a QB that can run?

If you lose, it's fairly obvious you weren't good enough that week???? Maybe you can lie to 5 year olds, but real fans know the truth and the lines are BS. That's the problem today noone will STATE THE TRUTH. SO if you go 16-1 the team should be fired because damn weren't good enough that game lol

LOL, Wentz was out no matter. You keep trying to connect dots that aren't there. WHO else would have taken this job besides maybe Duce?

When teams lose someone, they always say "best for everyone" or "we wish him the best". They don't really care but it sounds nice, like when you say "if you need anything let me know" when you hope they don't take you up on your offer

I don't really care what the team says.... I want to see it actually be better for the Eagles one time.   New England style where they get a bunch of assistants hired as head coach, but it never works out.   With us people leave and it's better for them.   They win, when do we win?

As for the presser.... really simple.  Don't watch.  I haven't watched since early Chip, and that was only because it was different than 14 years of clearing the throat, sweating and gotta do a better job dare, times yours.

Correct, race has nothing to do with being a running QB, neither does your time in a 40 yard dash...Your style of play does.  How often do you run. Where in the progression of the play do you run.  Do coaches call running plays for you.

Ham..  now reports are Foles didn't want to come back.   When did Doug coach McNabb?   Think for a second... those running QBs that were here with Andy,  the offense was still West Coast.  You've seen Doug the last few years, did you think his play calling fit Hurts?   I don't.  This is part of the excuse I would give for Hurts, that Doug was awful for him.

Look at Indy, we know Reich's offense here and in SD, did the QB run a lot?   Go to Indy, he hires Siri.  Younger coach, year 2 they have Brissett.  Is Reich or Siri the positive influence there?  Idk, but it sure seems Reich likes the QB who looks to read defenses, make tweaks, not so much one read and run.   He comes from the K Gun offense as a player, QBs made it of calls there.  It's more Luck, Rivers and Wentz style.

Dude...  you could have coached in 2013 ... would have enjoyed it due to 14 years of the same crap.

Btw... since kids, I don't watch any pre or post game or press conference stuff.  Just no time.  For that I miss Andy...  start with injuries and then I can change the channel.  They don't say anything in a press conference...then it's the media complaining about what went wrong.   When was the last time you got anything from a post game press conference?  You just watched the game, why do you someone else talking about it?

Just admit you took the bait and loved that crappy coach. All after you dogged AR out the whole time. Then bashed Pedey. But still try and bash Pedey. You can have your Chipper and Siri. I’d take AR and Pedey all day long!

Ben Simmons missed foul shots... let's ask the question 35 times and see if we can get an answer?    Lol.

" we gotta pay the rent every day"

" rock, paper scissors ...shoot"

" everyone is excited, working hard and gelling "

Great insight.

This part your mostly correct. I’d say that I pick up on some more minor details though. Especially the more you know and have seen somebody. You notice the subtle little things that can tell you more than the cliche quotes.

Everybody has their style....especially with the tougher questions. Siri stutters. AR takes the blame. Chipper blamed the defense.

Not at all.  Chip was polar opposite of Andy, always thought both had alot of good, just too stubborn in their ways.

Doug to me, I always said was refreshing because finally we couldn't predict the plays by looking at the formations.   Nobody coaches perfect, but Doug's stuff was natural situational second guessing stuff.  I even say today, I think he is a good play caller, just needs someone to design the plays...he can choose the food from the menu, but I don't want him cooking the food.   I've been consistent about last year too... he was dealt a brutal hand.  You could tell he wasn't into it.

I think the organization does a phenomenal job of spin... everyone had issues with the front office, yet they bait enough guys like you thinking it was all Wentz vs Doug.   Just like DeSean being in a gang, and everyone else on their way out.  Look how they are getting people to turn on Ertz.   It's what they do.

At this point, you can keep talking about the past...  I already let my opinion out... the team is in the EXACT place the owner and the GM want. I give them 100% credit or blame for these next few years.

The Slim Reaper and Hurts are selling more jerseys than Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow.

So picking up on your boy Pedey... (idk why an adult would call him that, but anyway)  ... I didn't watch much, but did you notice anything different that would point out he wasn't all in? Like a little extra annoyed this year?   If so, do you think it had anything to do with the help he was getting putting together an offensive game plan?

Why would think the spin ends now? The next spin comes off a ....well we were a rebuilding team. They won’t mention the kind of draft ammo they had...it will just be pointing to how they brought in a bunch of young quality players. They got Siri here to teach sound fundamentals in receiving and coverage. Now it’s time to bring in the real coach to take it to the next level. "Sorry fans. We did our jobs. Unfortunately winning and contending was just too big a job for Siri. So we had to let him go. We are excited about all the young talent the team has going forward. Think it’s a fantastic place any coach would love to work in.”

Sure he was pissed. But it was very subtle. Kept incredible control of the team through all these shenanigans.
