The crossing routes were downfield. You’re referring to the Drag Routes.

You can have crossing routes 3 yards or of 23 yards out. JJ is a master at them, and another reason I wanted him in that draft. Can you imagine JJ with Smith?  I hope your boy Reagor shows us why we drafted him. That was a draft fail otherwise

A Drag underneath with our speedy guys that can hopefully avoid tackles better....can handle getting the third and long yardage. (Not saying third and twenties. Just normal third and longs for all you smart a77es hahaha)

We were very efficient throwing to DBs.

You got it,that was our most efficient % completion 🤣

I consider a Drag a Crossing route. But he’s actually separating them for this analytics he threw out. That big a factor in the game plan!

You have In routes and Slants. The difference here being it’s not a quick throw on the Slant or In. Hitting them across the field.

Fulgham and then Goedert....followed up by the other TE that nobody even wants Rodgers. So we can make easy assumption without the data really.

I think he was right and his point was well proven. He needs to hire his guys. Things went downhill with most every decision they forced on him after the initial setup. So I’m not going quite as far as you. It was time to get out of Pedey’s way and let him do his job....or fire him.

Things went downhill the moment McDaniel turned down the Indy job.

We were doing much better throwing to RBs before last season. Maybe a result of bad Oline is....more of relying on the Back to help out. Which they were at an all time low last year at. Definitely didn’t work. Underutilized weapon we have. Not saying Sanders is ever going to be Westy...but he can crush people. But more so even looking through the Room...Scott and Gainwell. Sanders and Scott both contributed about 200 yards receiving this past season. Does anybody think that’s all they can do? That they are maxed out? I expect Gainwell to get a fair share of catches to add to this.

I'm just saying I think Doug wanted out.  Going into 2020 and as the season progressed , I think it became obvious to him that he was never going to get his way.    I think he knew exactly what to say to get Lurie to say "let's move on"   I mean, it was time to let Doug do his thing in 2018 wasn't it.  Dude wins the only SB for you, he probably should decide who he wants to work with.   I also think this was probably known throughout the organization, probably the guy who has to deal with all the chaos on the field, why would you want to stay with an organization that isn't letting your coach do it his way?

I think the RBs are going to get a big share of the passes.

I think you are forgetting the role that our QB coach played. Was leaving out after the SB win anyway. Didn’t want to even take the OC job here because it was considered Pedey’s Offense. Not Reich’s offense winning the SB. DeFellipo was tough on Wentz. He challenged him.

It was a great offensive coaching staff that won that SB for us. Just no doubt. Pedey’s Offense. Reich’s experience. Both of their demeanor. DeFellipo demanding it out of the QBs. Duce rocking the RB. Peele underrated on TE. Stout always respected on the Oline. Groh very good coach out at WR. Heck Taylor was assistant QB coach...I think it’s a given he’s going to be coaching for a long time. Chung was assistant Oline. He’d be Head Oline coach if only.....nah, I’m not going there.

Let’s not put all the success on any one man’s shoulders. Took a village!

  • Author

Funny thing is DeFellipo is now Passing Coordinator and QB coach under Nagy’s Offense now. So things didn’t exactly go like he expected.

  • Author

Pretty sure he was our first replacement at OC for Reich. Remember we lost our OC and QB coach. QB coach is usually the guy you look to first to ascend. So we had to go third option of Groh. Which The Wonder Twins forced out. So then Pedey was tapping into fourth option...which was Taylor. All good coaches. Clearly and experience difference down the line. So lumps and growth would be obvious expectations. You can’t even expect a young up and coming stud coach like McDermott to do it over night. Wasn’t even good enough to be our DC. But yeah...didn’t take him long to become a stud Head Coach.

  • Author

Reich brought in Groh. Brought in Taylor. Tapped straight into his QB coach to become OC.

  • Author

The Wonder Twins made AR fire McDermott. Wasn’t that like one of Rosie’s first ever brilliant moves? Where he knew everything more than the football guys.

  • Author

You think a little pie in the face about Wentz having a career saving season is going to stop them two? 2010 plenty of this has been going on. Wasn’t just starting in 2020.

  • Author

We put in Juan Castillo at DC. Funny how he’s Oline coach in Chicago for Nagy now.

  • Author

Nagy and Pederson are straight down the pipeline of quality career. Guys you want. It’s not a great moment, if you are a prisoner to that, to maybe say this. Both Offensive  Quality Control coach. QB coach. OC. Then became Head Honchos.

Now let’s look at Press Taylor. Offensive Quality Control coach. Then Offensive Quality Control and Assistant QB coach. QB coach. Passing Game Coordinator and QB coach. This guy was coming straight through our pipeline. Some can talk about it for players. But you need it for coaches also.

  • Author

He was the obvious choice for OC. I mean....you know....fourth behind Reich, DeFellipo, and Groh. Really think, Taylor under Groh...under Pederson was going to be a beautiful thing. Just needed to let that grow. Let those young guys make a few mistakes. But bring it all together.

So how many of those were drag and crossing routes?

I would rather we had the O line an RBs to RUN THE BALL and while its great to have receiving RB's I would rather they do their damage on the ground as intended

I don’t remember many at all.

Fulgham mostly worked the outs and Wentz threw to the sideline mostly.
