Finally found the trade lol it was two 7ths one in 2018 and one in 2019 lmao. I was off I knew there was a future pick in there though

OK, I just looked it up. They traded Pick 250 plus next year's 7th rounder for pick 233. Yes, technically that can be multiple picks I guess lol

They got Goedert, Sweat and Mailata in that draft. Really not too bad considering they did not have a 1st round pick nor a 3rd rounder....

But at the end of the day got two guys at T that seem ready and willing to compete for a job and that should be huge for both guys making strides and may the best man win

Does it have to be technical when you use 2 picks?   2 is multiple....lol

Remember the days when this used to be big news.   Probably the best thing they negotiated in the last CBA to slot all the pay and end the drama.  These kids need to get started ASAP.

BTW... we give Lurie a lot of crap.  But I wish he bought  the team 5 years earlier.   All those stupid hold outs, he would have taken care of things ASAP.   Buddy Ryan would have been perfect for him, always keeping the Eagles in the news.

IDK before Vermeil, but the rest of the sports teams in the city were all good when I was growing up, it wasn't really until Buddy came that my interest leaned more towards the Eagles.  If that group prior to free agency and a salary cap had an owner like Lurie... my guess is we would have had more playoff success.   But half the entertainment was Buddy being annoyed at " the guy in France"

Yep, now days when picks are signed it's like, "Whatever."

I know Lurie would've been a HECK of a lot better than Frenchy. He didn't give squat about the team. Buddy was great LOL. Really miss him!

The best is that the players had to pay for their socks.    I mean, it's pro football and the owner makes them pay for their socks.   LOL

Plus one more year of Buddy he was going to draft Erik Williams  ... instead of the fiasco trading up for Antone Davis.   Dude could draft, that's for sure.  Getting Williams and keeping him away from Dallas, would have been huge.

Idk what you are getting at?   Goedert is an Eagle this year, so we are not keeping Ertz around incase he isn't.  And Ertz won't be a Eagle next year,  so the Eagles don't have the option to tell Goedert " if you won't sign with us, we will just keep Ertz".

Why wouldn’t the team at this point have all the options? They’ve been negotiating with Goedert’s agent as we speak.

My understanding is that Kittle signed for 15 mil a year. Goedert expects to get paid like 13. So yeah that gives me pause. Makes me wonder if the team shouldn’t go down a different path

Makes sense why would Geodart take a huge discount just to resign if he plays well this year he is likely to get near kittle money if not more on the open market. It’s the gamble you play if he plays like I think he can 13m is a steal especially when other TEs start to resign if he doesn’t then we vastly overpaid

Letting Geodart play out this year with plans on using the a tag on him could be our best course for us

More than Kittle money. Are you mad man?

Noticed that on the official website the team has Dickerson labeled OL. Every other lineman has a specific position attached.

Grimes just had knee surgery

So they are saying Stoll isn’t actually a great blocker on the end of the line. He’s a great blocker on the move.

That different path is not Ertz,  the two are totally unrelated.

And it's like Celek and Burton again... except Goedert is actually a guy that can also block well on the move, Celek wasn't too good on the move.

Stoll could then also work in the role that a RB would have in pass protection if there was play action where you send your RB out in the route.  Which you seem to prefer.   Works nicely here with more of a threat to run than if it was Ertz or Rodgers with Goedert.

You think the Eagles can tell Goedert that... " we have the option to resign Zach instead of you"     lol.   If that is the case and Goedert or his agent believe this, then I need to get into a poker game with those guys.

No but that is how the nfl works... Guys get overpaid on the open market ie Austin Hooper. To use a TE example... Can’t tell you how many WRs got good money that didn’t deserve it more then some well known guys because of a good year and being a FA.

Yep, only takes one team to overpay to fill a perceived need.    And the pay scale keeps rising each year.   QBs will hit $50 mil per year soon enough.   It's why you need to sign the guys you want to keep before they hit the open market.

But then you have to give those guys a chance to succeed otherwise your decision to pay them looks stupid.
