Sorry, but I think it all BS these "special" peeps wanting there own special thing. What about all the hard working SOB's that stuck it out through the Covid "crisis" instead of taking the governments BONUS unemployment?

I’ve been thinking they might just have their eyes on a few guys that could be potential cuts at CB. Or....you think this is a rebuilding team. So you couldn’t fix everything overnight. So don’t reach for positional needs so much. Not the one year plan in place as much as the three year. In that scenario, which I believe we are in, a free agent CB could easily be on the radar next offseason. We hired a coverage DC. So let’s see what he can come up with here. Seems to me we are drafting a corner high next year. Doesn’t it feel inevitable now?

I don't think anyone is going to be cutting a starting level CB, so that idea is out.

As far as not fixing everything, the team signed Harris, Kerrigan and Wilson on one-year deals, so if you are fixing issues at safety, DE and linebacker, it doesn't make sense to leave a gaping hole at corner.

What we don't know is whether or not the team has been trying to find corner help, and just hasn't been able to sign anyone, or if they have seen something from Jacquet (or someone else) that makes them think their starter is on the roster.

What is good is that it is a lot easier to find a zone corner than a man corner. And they have a lot of options to choose from, so hopefully someone steps up and grabs the job.

We have several hybrid options. S and LB. so hopefully we can throw enough effective curveballs. Dline is invested in. They have to create pressure.

But it is possible teams go in a different direction because of salary from a decent corner come cutdown day. Not real sold on our slot situation either. If Maddox and Wallace(or others) can do multiple things out of the position is probably what’s best. So that number two and three corner positions are question marks. I like James. So don’t think things are that dire there. But what about our number one. He’s mostly been a man up guy. What will they ask of Slay this season? Remember Schwartz favored Zone mostly. Maybe that was because of lack of quality Man corners. But he switched it to Man much more last season for Slay. What will the new coach run? According to him....he doesn’t  even know yet. He supposedly is going to match up week in and week out. But that’s based on what options he has...in those matchups, right?

Plus I look at the big picture. Next years FA class. Xavier Rhodes makes some sense. Several other options. Next year’s draft class. I expect to take a corner high. Build a team. Two obvious position weaknesses we can address. At this point that I’d be happy with. If they can fill out some quality young starters. Get some quality depth developing. That’s where I’m at. If they can pull off a winning record before the trade deadline....then I really consider making a move. I’d call that a real long shot though.

Harris and Wilson I’d say are on one year tryouts. If they look good I expect we try and extend them. Harris I especially figure that’s the plan. Wilson he gives coverage abilities to a LB corps that has that weakness. Especially Singleton and Edwards. Could be good to have in that weeks matchup. Definitely in certain game situations. Kerrigan was a dirt cheap great character stand up pass rusher. So he adds to the options on defense. No risk addition. But also some of our best trade ammo revolves around possible DEs. So gives more flexibility to the FO as well.

Have Grayland Arnold that could be considered a hybrid DB. Lavert Hill from Michigan. Jacquet many see potential in. Seymour others favor to develop. James it seems like showed really well in TC last season to earn a contract. Maddox has the most experience. Mostly of letting guys catch passes. Zech McPherson the guy they tabbed in the draft to develop. Meadors? I actually didn’t even know he was on the team. Brought in Josiah Scott. Got the young guy Shakial Taylor. Point being...a bunch of young guys here to evaluate. Have hybrid guys to work some things in the slot also.

nothing. IF the team website does not sell it, then you can only purchase bootleg items on the net. The Eagles have a section on their website just for this type of gear....

Not sure I get this whole desire for Stevie Nelson from the fan base dude wasn’t that good last year… He is what 29-30 already. I’d rather pass on him and give a young guy a chance not like he is going to make the difference between SB or not for us.

sounds like slay tbh

Slay already here an paid though nothing we can do about that plus think Slay like every other Cb we have had struggle and looked bad because of Schwartz scheme and the pressure it put on the CBs

It came up right away for me both times...multiple  items on NFLshop.com and fanatics.

An interesting Fletcher Cox story was released today.

Eagles have "Internal concern” about Fletcher Cox’s future (usatoday.com)

The team drafted two DTs this year, and could see a cap savings of $17 million next year if they cut or trade Cox after June 1.

Coincidentally, here is a story on one of the DTs they drafted.

Eagles rookie NFL player comparisons: Milton Williams | PhillyVoice

The fact that Cox wasn't extended this year makes me think the team wants to keep options open with him. They could also move on from Hargrave as well next year if he doesn't want to reach an extension to lower his cap hit.

Monster cap hits on the backloaded contracts always make it seem wise to move on from good players. Adding bonus money on for years after they plan on still being around is another beauty. So we owe Fletch a fortune still.

Eagles would be much better off if they did nothing until Next year with Cox... He srill is a force and no reason to try and save that cap space now.... Wait for 12 months and only have 6.6 mil in dead money....

I don’t think that’s accurate. That might be next years cap hit after June 1. Meaning he’d hit our cap in 2023 also.

Yeah, we have 6.4 mil in dead money in 2023 after he plays for us two more seasons.

Shareef Miller was cut again. Anybody interested? Anybody? Yeah me either

Trade takes him off the books.    That's the timing of the article.   The planting of the seed...to get the idea in the fans heads that it's a good decision for when they cut or trade him.   Best spin of all time down there at Novacare. CNN and Fox are minot leagues compared to them.

Buy this is my reason for pessimism following this year.   To me I feel Cox and Graham are underrated as far as what they bring to the table.  Even just by their presence.  Losing Cox is going to have a big time effect on everyone else around him. You don't find guys that either physically dominate a guy or force a doubleteam on every play... not very often.  Especially guys who play both the run and rush the passer so well.
