You are assuming Dillard loses?

It's better for the team if Dillard wins the LT spot.  He is under team control for the next 3 seasons.

The danger of trading Dillard, is that Mailata is a free agent after this season,  so there is the possibility we lose him too and end up with neither in 2022.

So this is the tricky part if Dillard doesn't beat out Mailata.   Doesn't seem like he can play another position to offer value if he stays, but you leave yourself without an LT under contract  past this year if you trade him.

So much better if Dillard can win the job. Probably leads to being able to resign Mailata cheaper and be your swing/ maybe next starter at RT?

Dude... a 1st rounder for a backup????

If both are more than starting caliber, sure

So Mailata wins the job.... how would you get a 1st for Dillard... prior to the season?      From pre season film.... another team is going to justify giving up a 1st rounder for a few plays in August?

In other words... how would you know the backup is " starting caliber"   ?

If this was reversed we needed a LT and a former 1st rounder that was bad his rookie year injured year 2 and had a strong PS year 3.. Would you be all for the Eagles giving up a 1st rounder for him???

I really don’t think we could get a 1st for either of our LT even if Mailata comes in strong and has a great camp and so does Dillard…. Neither has enough consistent film in the regular season.

Mailata had flashes and he might excite teams but that might get us a 2nd. Dillard just has no film except a bad rookie year his former 1st round status doesn’t mean anything now.

As of right now and after PS the only guy I see gaining is more then our investment is Mailata if traded if we move Dillard think we just have to be realistic and realize we are going to take an L in terms of what we invested vs  what we will get from him

Not without top play in multiple NFL level ... real games.    So no... not now.

Could we get a 1st rounder for Lane Johnson?      If you answer no to that.... put it in perspective trying to get one for either of the 2 LTs.

In terms of his play yes if that was the only factor but with his health issues not sure any team would be willing to give up a 1st for him right now….

Kansas City get OT Orlando Brown
2021 second-round pick (No. 58) 2022 6th round pick.

Baltimore gets:
2021 first-round pick (No. 31) third-round pick (No. 94)
fourth-round pick (No. 136)
2022 fifth-round pick

Just another angle Brown who was one of the better LT last year filling in.

KC basically moved back 27 spots and gave up a 3rd and 4th rounder for the guy.

Eagles have waived QB Jamie Newman and WR Khalil Tate. Eagles have waived/injured WR Trevon Grimes.

Well that is disappointing wanted to see what Newman could do lol 😂

Probably would spark to much of a QB controversy but I’d be all for Gardner Minshew reports coming out Jags would part with him for a 5th or 6th rounder.

Young guy only 25 has played some decent ball at the nfl level good competition for Hurts and a viable backup QB that could be here longer then 1 year Joe most likely.

Craig James we picked up from Minnesota’s tape looks much better. He’s our guy.

This is my thinking on the LT battle as well. Actually think I see Dillard as a much safer and better pass blocking option. Looked like he was picking up the run blocking quickly as well. Mailata as the backup makes it real easy to sign him for a great deal. If he starts then we are paying through the nose. LT money is as big as it gets. Tons of them making 14 mil or more a season.

You would think they need the arm for TC. Grimes was everybodies favorite undrafted to make the team.

Perhaps you put him in in the 4th or something, or if there is a small injury. Or perhaps you just rotate them There are so many options

Can’t stay healthy and has what 89 snaps in 4 years in nfl games sounds like another of your Hester or Ostman guys you like to hype up… Don’t see it

His tape looks much better than Zech Mcphersons.

And we’ve been pulling in Minnesota guys. He was a Minnesota guy. So it’s not like he isn’t a fit.

Yeah those Ward, Edwards and Singleton types I’ve liked. If they just could get the opportunity what would happen....oh wait...

What would happen...  4 wins?

Not because of their play. The undrafted and CFL guys did their part. It was the so called Franchise big money player that couldn’t do his.

Alex Singleton got his opportunity and made 120 tackles.

Wentz lead the league in turnovers.

Superbowl.... not that the problem is in Indy.   Ward and Singleton will be carrying the Lombardi in February.
