One man's opinion. You have every beat writer do a list and every one would be different. The dude is giving Newton respect. Not sure why anyone would give this list any credence. I would say let's see what Hurts does this year before making any informed opinion. We saw him in 4 games with a banged up line. Hard to form any sort of educated opinion based on that. So I can understand why he was ranked so low.... What has he done to date?

I’d say more than Taysom. Nothing worse than Darnold. Cam didn’t look good at all last season. But ….he’s falling behind rookies who really have done nothing. After Lawrence I’d stack Hurts collegiate career easily up against any of the other rookies.

I get that Hurts doesn’t have Dan Marino’s arm. It’s a limitation. But he can make all the throws. He has a great quick release….but it takes the ball an extra something to get there on deeper routes. So he doesn’t have a cannon….he just has a good arm. But he doesn’t have that huge slow windup aka Foles. He can’t flick his wrist like Vick and throw a dart forty yards. But who can?

DeVonta isn’t the biggest guy to play WR. I think he can do it though. We’ll see.

Dickerson can’t stay healthy.

Milton didn’t play against the top competition.

College performance does not always translate equally in the pros. If it did there would be no "Mistakes" made on draft day. So, we cannot go by Hurts College performance when translating how he will perform in the NFL. You know that Ham.......

That’s all the guy had to base ranking all those rookies ahead of Hurts

Most of the time it seems like college production doesn’t match up to NFL production because a guy lacks desire….or love for the game. Doesn’t have the motivation to do what it takes. The work ethic isn’t there. Feel like we know Jalen will do whatever it takes.

I would also note how mistakes are made in the draft based on athleticism. Super physically gifted guys get taken over better football players all the time because of ‘potential.’

Again, he is one guy and you cannot fault him on his opinions just because they disagree with yours. He is not wrong. You are not either. It is how you both feel.

I guess it makes for discussion in these doldrum times......

Sam Darnold is 19. Cam Newton is 20. Taysom Hill is 24. I’d rather ride with Hurts than any of them.

Hurts is pretty much better in every area than Taysom. Pffft …..you kidding me?

Think Darnold was in a worst situation then Hurts last year but is better QB, Cam at his age now yea I’d probably go Hurts now also but QB play Cam was still better last year then Hurts.

Taysom Hill again rather go Hurts but still was a better QB then Hurts last year. The fact that you don’t even see how terrible Hurt was at passing is concerning as well wasn’t nearly as good as Taysom Hill as a passer and Hill wasn’t impressive at all

And I’d still rate all the first rounders ahead of Hurts based on college film and what I seen from them as QBs. Hurts just wasn’t an impressive QB he has great legs made up some for how terrible of a passer he was last year but he needs to make massive strides.

I do think Hurts got dealt a bad hand should be in the top 40 but nowhere near as high as your trying to make him at best 35 would the highest he could go.

MVP? Or just not below top 40? Huge gap in the middle for me

Not the way your hyping Hurts up it’s MVP or bust in my eyes now for him

Hurts needs to become a blend of Lamar Jackson and Mahomes in his 2nd season anything less is unacceptable now. Lol 😂

Hurts needs to pray that Wentz is a complete bust in Indy

I really cannot judge QB's like someone with Sims background can. He knows better for what to look for on each play. Also Taysom Hill has had lots of time to sit on the bench and learn. He should be much better than Hurts. The fact you would rather go with Hurts speaks volumes in my mind. Anyway, I guess we have nothing much to talk about. Let's all place a guess for total yards Passing and Rushing for Hurts next year. Tie Breaker will be TD's tossed.

  My guess - 3554 yards passing- 835 yards rushing - TB - 17 TD's

When did he play against him in the NFL?

Not really Hurts is 22… Cam is over 30 and Taysom Hill is 30-31…. Hurts can/could and should get better but if we are ranking them based of what we got right now not sure how anyone could place Hurts higher then them.

Im not really knocking Hurts just being realistic he has a lot to prove still if this was a list of who would you want to build your team around I think he has to be higher then the likes of Hill and Cam just off his potential but the list was based on QB play which he didn’t show he was anywhere near as good and neither of those guys were all the impressive.

I would say the biggest reason it doesn't match up is the competition.  The QBs from a lot of these schools have the better teammates.  Most of them don't walk into a Mahomes situation in the pros.  It's usually a little more even.

Don’t see it happening but not sure why anyone cares now most fans seemed happy they dealt Wentz can’t be upset if he goes on to find success again.

Really doesn’t have much to do with the arm he had poor accuracy which is more alarming, he held the ball longer then any QB last year, had questionable reads, massive ball security issues 6th in the nfl in fumbles in 324 snaps…

Again does it mean he can’t or won’t improve no but there are massive areas he needs to correct and show that he can play at an NFL level. Right now Hurts the passer has not shown he can play at an NFL caliber starter level.

Hill is 30 but only in the league for 4 years. He really only played last year and his stats were pretty good.

And this is why I’d agree he is ahead of Hurts… I’d still take a 22 year old Hurts over a 30 year old QB though.

With there play styles I don’t foresee these guys having Brady/Brees hell Rodgers length careers going into there late 30s early 40s

I think Hurts has a lot to prove and sadly if he doesn’t perform the media will eat him alive and it will get even worse if….

A. Wentz performs

B. Justin Fields has a strong rookie season.(Mac Jones could be in this to an extent as well)

Might not be fair but we all know it will happen as well.

Are you new to philly sports?

If Wentz has a great year the Philly fans and media will make it hell on Hurts. Justified or not.

Oh I know this just saying to shouldn’t matter lol can’t be upset when the whole city and FO wanted him out

If anything just be happy it means we get a 1st out of it.

Also why it post above I think Hurts will have a ton of pressure to be successful early

Mediocre play won’t cut it and it will get worse because of Wentz and rookies we passed on if they out play Hurts.
