I said it SHOULD be a worthy/solid right side.Did I say he was better? Nope, but put any words in my mouth that fit and if you had asked me earlier,I would have said yes I was all for running right with brooks(but you didn't)

Correct, but as I pointed out ... your enthusiasm for mentioning the right side (which we have had for years now) seems to have been peaked due to the Brooks injury and Peters going in there???

Hate to hear that. He’s a heck of a player. I’m all about beating out that dallas team....but not that way. Could be effectively career ending for him. Just don’t know?

Agree, but it seems everyone forgets our own injuries... didn't hear any Dallas fans acknowledge our injuries when they won.  It goes in cycles, we have had way more than our share.

Doesn’t sound like Dillard is very injured. My thoughts have been that Peters should be learning RT. Become that backup swing T. Good that Mailata is getting a good looking at though. Big call on his career here.

Just too early to say how the Secondary works out. Slay and McLeod look locked in as starters. Wallace might be making a case for himself to win a job. He could jump Parks. In fact he could jump Mills. So many ways the whole picture can go in the secondary. Stay tuned!

Mills will start ... depending how the other guys look ... S or CB.

Sounds like Mailata is bombing. That experiment might need to be coming to an end.

Where did you see that?

Grandson got a possible concussion in practice today.

We'll find out later this evening.

I saw some tweets stating he got beat by Toohill twice in a 1 v1 drill. He hasn't struggled (or at least no one has mentioned it) in any of the team drills, which I think the coaches care about a lot more, so I think he is going to be the primary LT backup throughout training camp. Unless he gets demoted in the next few days to the third team, I would guess he is a lock to make the roster.

Thanx. I don't do Twitter or FB so i sometimes have to depend on you guys for inside info.

Getting smoked by the undrafted guy doesn’t bode well for your chances of making the team. Especially when the coach pulls you aside because of it for a teaching moment and then run it back for a similar result. Only been two padded practices but this kid is on his last chance I’m thinking.....and he is blowing it.

It's one drill, and he was playing on his weaker side. I wouldn't read too much into it. He has decent tape against Josh Allen and Matt Judon from last year, who both made the pro bowl.

If he drops on the depth chart, it would be a bad sign for him. But as long as the team keeps giving him reps with the second team, he's not going anywhere. And if they do cut him, he's going to get picked up pretty quickly. It would be interesting to see how many teams would put in a waiver claim on him. I am guessing the other three teams in our division would, as all are struggling with LT depth right now.

I'm not gonna get worked up over one drill and one practice.

Some thoughts after reading the coverage of the first practice.

Dillard being a little dinged up is an interesting development. It doesn't sound serious, but it probably isn't ideal for him to be missing reps right now.

If Pryor plays well, I could see them putting Peters at LT. The oline is a situation that will be interesting to follow the next few weeks. The team has a lot of options, and it will be interesting to see how things shake out.

Reagor by all accounts did well, and I would guess he will be the starter week 1.

Killins working out with the WRs instead of the RBs in something I predicted a few weeks ago and it's good to see the team is going that route. He's too small to be a RB, but could be a matchup nightmare as a slot WR.

Parks looks like he will be the first DB off the bench in dime packages, which makes sense. The team has always preferred to put an extra safety on the field.

Barnett and Hargrave being hurt is clearly not ideal, but it makes the Curry signing look even better, since he has inside/outside flexibility.

My guess is that there will be a lot more phantom IR designations this year. My sense is that Watkins and Hightower are probably both good enough to make the roster, but neither guy is going to contribute much. So one will got to IR. The same with Tega. I could also see them going light at RB and TE, and elevating guys from the PS to the active roster on game days.

I was pushing for Killins early in the draft as a UDFA(ask anyone). This kid is QUICK. He was a RB that could catch,so no shock they are working his receiving skills(he already knows how to run). The fact he was passed over for the combine puts a chip on his shoulder.I expect good things from him.He could be used if we play Hurts on a read option a few plays, but it never hurts to perfect a RB's catching skills.I would suggest Kills be used as a returner and you can't say he's too small because that was his position and he was successful(Sproles was too small to play too remember?) Killins was also a track man.In some vids you will see him, lean at the GL lol. Just out of habit.Killins I believe is faster than Ruggs,or at least matching speed.it would surprise me if Killins goes on the PS.teams in need of speed would snap him up in a second. So now we arrive once again at that  bugger question of who is worth a roster spot.In the event Scott gets hurt,Killins can step in without tearing pages out of the play book

These are the tough questions we always have to ask who get to be on the main roster who goes to PS we only have so many roster spots.

Go heavy at one position likely means you go light at another.

So from what I have read so far and it’s early so not reading to heavily in it all 3 of our rookie WR are impressing a bit it’s at least good to hear. Would love to see all our young WRs step up

Miles Sanders has a lower body injury and is week to week. Probably not serious and they're just being careful with him, so that's good I guess.

Lower body injury? Does anybody know what happened? Bruised knee? Sprained his ankle? Stubbed a toe?

Week to week sounds somewhat serious, even if they're just being careful.

Happy Birthday NC! (JIC I don't get time tomorrow)

An interesting wr note from this story today.

"The Eagles opened up in 12 personnel with DeSean Jackson and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside as the top two wide receivers. JJAW (X), Jackson (Z), and Greg Ward (slot) were then the top three receivers in 11 personnel."

It goes on to say that Reagor was worked in with the ones, but I think initially we are going to see DJax, JJAW and Ward as the top three guys. With no preseason games, it doesn't make a lot of sense to put a rookie in there unless they have to.

Whiteside has obviously been the subject of a lot of debate here, but his problem wasn't that he couldn't catch the ball, it was that he was rarely targeted. If he can get healthy, it will be interesting to see how much of a rapport he can build with Wentz leading up to the opener. To me it also makes sense for Reagor to get more snaps backing up Jackson, who will almost certainly miss some time during the season. Jackson doesn't need a lot of reps anyway, so it will be like he is on the first team. And it makes more sense to limit DJax to 50 percent of the snaps during the season to keep him healthy/fresh.

Sorry, not buying Jjaw as a starter.Firstly because he showed ZIP last year. Secondly,I understand giving some time to Reagor to get to know people and the play book and become more comfortable, but there is zero way I sit him for Jjaw.Lastly,we need to stop coddling our WR picks. We rarely take a WR in round 1,but we did and I expect him to start (or why draft him in round 1?) He was "rarely targeted" because he offered no window.Hopefully that will improve, but in my view he needs to show me something right now

I think it's valid to question JJAW, but I would first like to see how he does with guys like Goedert, Ertz and Djax around him versus Hollins, Greg Ward and Josh Perkins. He had great college production and a great training camp last year, so it's not like he has never shown anything. What I noticed is that he didn't run a lot of the same routes in the regular season as he did in the preseason, most likely because the team didn't have any speed around him, so he couldn't work the middle of the field as much.

To begin the season, I can see the team giving Ertz and Goedert around 80 percent of the snaps, Djax around 60 percent, and JJAW, Ward and Reagor around 40 percent. Perkins, Watkins and Hightower (or whomever makes the team) can then divide up the rest, with the team also using two RBs some of the time.

This allows the team to give opposing defenses a lot of different looks and eases in the rookies without throwing too much at them at once.

On the depth chart front, it looks like Maddox will be the CB2. So the defense is pretty much set. LeBlanc got a nice shout out today, but he seems caught in a numbers game unless there is an injury. I don't expect Jones or Douglas to see the field at all this season unless things get catastrophic, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them traded. Even if Maddox struggles I would imagine the team would put Mills outside and slide Parks in at safety. Schwartz said it is tough for rookies to come in and play safety right away, so it doesn't bode well for Wallace to play much.

I was going to dispute this, but based on the first 3 days and Schwartz's comments, it looks like Maddox is definitely the day 1 CB2.  Personally, I wanted Sidney Jones to prove himself in camp, but something must have happened earlier in the offseason for Jones not to get any reps with the 1's.  He wasn't bad at the end of last season.  He made key plays and breakups against the Cowboys and the Giants with the game on the line.

I think it's clear that Schwartz puts certain people in his doghouse, and he loves guys that have "dog" mentalities even if they aren't superior athletes at their positions.  Jalen Mills comes to mind.

That's because he was rarely open

JSB, I can see the season starting out Twelve personnel like you are saying predominantly. Use those two TE. Two(at least) dual threat RBs to rotate.  Might see some WARD and DJax in that alignment.

Vs the Football Team I think that’s how we go into that
