No concussion for the grandkid.

His head's too hard.

That's because he was rarely open

I think with a receiver like JJAW, there needs to be a lot of trust between him and the QB because he doesn't have the speed to get wide open, but he can use his size to give the qb a window to make a throw. In a way he is like Ertz or Jeffery, who both make a ton of catches while at the same time always seem to get tackled right away (both have terrible yac numbers.) So he not only has to learn how to use his positioning/size to get open, but he also has to earn the trust of the qb that he is going to make a play. And last year he didn't have either.

Hopefully a year in the system will yield a different result. The one good thing is that he has decent hands and seems willing to put the work in, so I am confident he will be a lot better this year. Jeffery didn't have a great rookie season, either. But the next year he was pretty dominant. So I am hopeful that we see similar results from JJAW.

First team punt protection unit includes: T.J. Edwards, Shaun Bradley, Duke Riley, Will Parks, K’Von Wallace, Corey Clement, Josh Perkins.

Very key depth guys here. We need them pulling all ST duties. Edwards looks to be a starter... him being the exception.

So the first Oline today was Dillard, Pryor, Seumalo, Herbig and Johnson.

I could actually see this as a very good unit. Easily possibly the future.

Don't know about you guys in the east but football and fall sports are practicing fully in the midwest.

Bradley on the unit in front of Taylor is somewhat surprising. He has had a good camp while Taylor hasn't really shown much.

JSB, I can see the season starting out Twelve personnel like you are saying predominantly. Use those two TE. Two(at least) dual threat RBs to rotate.  Might see some WARD and DJax in that alignment.

Not sure if I want Ward outside of the slot.  He's smart and competitive, but I don't know what kind of threat he'll be out there.  I hope Reagor continues to impress, lines up opposite Desean on the outside, then you put Ertz and Goedert in 12 personnel.  The best tight end duo in the league, with hyper speed on the outside, Sanders out of the backfield, and Wentz at QB.  I don't know how you stop that.

He’s reliable...even being called a leader in the WR room. Week one the guy that knows all the plays reliably. That’s why I’d think you would start the season like that. Bringing in the rooks and making them earn plays as the season wears on.

Was reading an article on Wentz and Hurts and they were talking how Wentz days could be numbered here and was just thinking to myself this is sad not great reporting just stating obvious stuff.

Of course if Wentz gets hurt over the next two years(when the article said we could get out of his deal didn’t look into it) and Hurts comes in and lights it up of course we likely move forward with the younger cheaper QB that’s available. On the flip if Wentz crushes it the article just looks stupid

Not sure it will matter much where JJaw or Ward line up(prefer Ward in the slot) but having Djax and hopefully all 3 of the rooks with serious speed forces coverages to respect them opening more of the underneath/Intermediate pass lanes they all the guys that work that level will benefit greatly. So Ward/JJaw the TEs and even Sanders/Scott

As for Ward think he still has a ton of room to grow even with him being one of our older WRs he is still only what 24-25. And seems to have a really good connection with Wentz hope they can continue to build that connection and trust

Agree with Ward.  I'd prefer JJAW line up on the sidelines with his mom under an umbrella.

With JJaW confidence is huge! He needs the confidence in himself. But also Carson needs to be able to trust in him. That when he is supposed to sit and stop in a spot in the zone...he doesn’t start to drift after that(be crisp and stop). That leads to interceptions. Make sure he has the right read and adjustment. Wentz is expecting him to make a cut at a certain time. He needs to learn that timing in his route tree and make the routes crisp and precise. Much less when he appeared to just be going the wrong way with his read(or playcall knowledge). That also leads to interceptions. Finally, he needs to come down with the ball and reward the QBs efforts to get it to him.

I'll be happy if he doesn't run into his own players that are running the correct routes this season.

JJaw made a couple of decent plays as a rookie and a few times Wentz missed him open. He needs to show a ton of improvement but don’t think we should write him off yet that is for sure.

Lot of it will come down to him and Wentz developing a connection and trust on one another

We have all these young WRs 25 and under Ward/Reagor/Hightower/Watkins/JJaw i will be happy just to see 3 of them succeed and be consistent contributors to the team.

I’m tired of just having nobody WRs and us seeming to have to address the position year in and year out same with DBs...

Honestly the LB room has me most excited I know it seems to be the biggest area of concern for the team but I honestly think some of these young guys are going to step up and really make a name for themselves.

Really think Flajole has been an underrated coach for us and has done wonders with our LBs really hasn’t had a top talent to work with

Hell of a coaching job year in and year out

Our third round pick LB is a huge wild card for me. They swung for the fences with that pick...I’ll give them that. Not sure just how far he is away from developing into a pro player though?

I think it's valid to question JJAW, but I would first like to see how he does with guys like Goedert, Ertz and Djax around him versus Hollins, Greg Ward and Josh Perkins. He had great college production and a great training camp last year, so it's not like he has never shown anything. What I noticed is that he didn't run a lot of the same routes in the regular season as he did in the preseason, most likely because the team didn't have any speed around him, so he couldn't work the middle of the field as much.

To begin the season, I can see the team giving Ertz and Goedert around 80 percent of the snaps, Djax around 60 percent, and JJAW, Ward and Reagor around 40 percent. Perkins, Watkins and Hightower (or whomever makes the team) can then divide up the rest, with the team also using two RBs some of the time.

This allows the team to give opposing defenses a lot of different looks and eases in the rookies without throwing too much at them at once.

TBH,I want whomever wins the job

Honestly I liked the swing for him always felt we kinda settled for safer picks guys that didn’t have high ceilings but had high floors as well... Taylor think sky can be the limit with him has all the physical skills needed just raw and needs to be coached up. I think we have a great coach to do that.

Should be an interesting year. Not that we would lose him,but Wentz IS in a contract year with some nice surrounding weaponry(if we can keep them on the field)
