Limited practices, no pre season, and an O line that can't get the reps together.

For the first time in years i have no idea what to expect from the Eagles.

Or any other team for that matter.

I think they're gonna look like total slop for the first few weeks, but I think other teams are going to look even worse.  And for longer.

A kind of surprising development in training camp is how well the linebackers are playing, especially considering how worried a lot of people are about them.

It seems like every practice one of them is making a big play, which is a pretty encouraging sign.

Obviously the team isn't tackling, so Nate Gerry is going to stand out. But Duke Riley has been getting a lot of love, and may start. He has a lot of talent but really looked bad in Atlanta's system, so maybe he will thrive here. I am also a fan of Singleton, though I am guessing he will be put on the PS unless someone gets hurt.

I see Trevor Williams is back. He has starter potential. I was surprised when he was cut.

Yeah I was too. Though I find it odd that the team deemed he wasn't good enough in the past but now he's back.

They  can add veterans to the PS, so it makes sense to kick the tires on him to see if he is heathy. If someone goes down, he can be activated. I don't think he has a chance at the roster at this point, but it's smart to give him a look.

Schwartz on LB's, Jones. Think Jones is toast, don't trust him to stay healthy;

I don’t think we will cut Jones but honestly could see us trading him we won’t get our second round pick value for him but definitely think a team would give something to take a flier on him....Especially since we have Coleman, Maddox, Slay and I have even read some praise for Douglas(might not start but not a terrible backup option can stay healthy and has given us some decent reps)

Think the new DB coach going to have a lot of say on who he likes and who he wants to keep

It’s nice to hear Mills sounding like he is thriving at S I know many on the board have wanted him to get moved over to S basically since he got drafted

Hearing Ertz and Eagles are in contract talks again won’t be shocked to see him get an extension that puts him right up there with Kittle and Kelce

Ok so I’m trying to understand the new roster rules and from **** I am reading this is how it sounds tell me if I’m correct.

So teams can have 48 players active on game days but 8 of those spots have to be OL that leaves 40 spots for the rest of the team

Also 53 man roster is still in place but on game days we can choose to active 2 PS players for the game and they revert back to the PS after the game. So sorta having like a 55 man roster if you have couple PS guys you really like

This is correct. Although a player can only be moved from the PS to the roster and then back again twice. After that they are subjected to waivers. The team can also protect four PS members each week, so it is like having a 57 man roster.

Lol to sounds like it would have just been easier increasing the roster size....

Holyfield really making a case for a spot heard he has led our RBs on catches and carries been getting 1st team reps as well.

He dropped in the draft due to a dreadful 40 time, but he clearly has some juice. He played well for Carolina last year in the preseason, and seems like a guy who is perfect for us as a rb4 who can take the air out of the football at the end of games.

For what it is worth been ready that Greg Ward has been Wentz favorite target in camp at WR and of course Ertz at TE.... Both were at 21 targets when I read about it that was couple days ago though.

The Injured Reserve is supposed to be different this year. More activations of players and they don’t have to be there as long as normal. So IR could really bring a boost to the roster this season.

The IR and roster rules are so convoluted this year i'm not sure anyone really knows how it will work

I am a huge Greg Ward fan, but I am feeling that, barring injury or someone struggling, he isn't going to get a lot of playing time.

My guess is that Reagor and JJAW are going to split time at the WR2 spot with DJax at the WR1 in 12 personnel, and then the three of them will be on the field at the same time in 11 personnel. I thought Reagor would be limited early, but he has been having a great camp, so there's no reason to keep him on the bench. And JJAW can be used to take advantage of smaller corners, so rotating him with Reagor makes it tough on the defense.

IMHO Ward has earned his spot.

He's more than earned his spot. But I am not sure how much playing time he will get unless JJAW or Reagor struggles. Wentz loves throwing to him and he catches everything, so he's clearly not going to hurt the team. But the other guys have a higher ceiling.

Been catching up with the team. Seems good all over but LT as Dillard's not looked good from the start of camp. Did he come in w/ the injury? Put on that weight, still can't handle a bull rush. Part of me was glad we brought JP back, doubt he can handle a full season at LT and he gets beaten by speed nowadays. I don't see an answer on the team right now.

From what I read Doug Pederson said Ward is in line to start I’m guessing as the slot but still... Pretty sure Wentz will have sway as well especially if they have a strong connection and both are producing

My guess would be Djax is the easy start at his position. Ward likely will start in the slot(honestly might get the 2nd most snaps for WRs early on) with Jjaw/Reagor splitting reps at the other WR spot.

Could see Hightower/Watkins sneaky in for some reps here and there as well

It get tough when Alshon gets heathy what do we do then???? I mean what happens if our WRs are killing it how do you bench one of them for Alshon just because he is healthy???

Still think the goal will be to move him for whatever really especially if the young WR come out swinging

Be tough to move Alshon this yr w/ his contract - $15.4 mill. But yeah - keep the youth.

Anyone in the path of Laura, hope you're outta there, be safe.

It would hurt us more then another team they don’t end up picking up the full 15.4 mil... if I’m reading the over the cap numbers right since it is post June 1st dead money would only be around 5.5m if we traded him and save us nearly 10mil.

So not a cap expert or anything but believe that means whatever team trades for him would get him for only 10m
