He looked better than anyone else we fielded.SO I am glad he got some snap time in

From what I read not sure Smith had the best game… 2 catches 19 yards but also read he had 2 drops not that greatest of starts

This is PS. Cox and Graham did not play. Hurts and Kelce and others sat out. Meanwhile our 2nd stringers played against an organized NE Squad's First sting team. What did you expect to see? No one got seriously injured from what I saw. Smith looked like the real deal as he got separation from 1st string CB's. Sometime he was 7 yards clear. It does not matter that Flacco missed him as long as we see the progress.

As I keep saying, these games matter little. What does matter is you get yourself in shape for week 1. Then we can see where this team really is.

I will add that next Friday we will see the first string teams for about a half. This will be the best look you have before week 1 to see what we got.

Has anyone noticed the number of successful medium distance crossing routes the Patriots run? They've been at it for over 2 decades and still, nobody can stop it.

Makes you wonder why we don't use them more often...

Read we sat Kielce, Brooks and Lane as soon as they found out Hurts was out… Not sure I agree with that approach there always a chance Flacco will have to fill in couple games this year might as well got a look with him and the starters but oh well.

heard there was interest in Dillard. If that is the case, we should "Show Case" him with the starters so other teams can get film on him. May get a 2nd round pick if a team is desperate enough....

Have to say disappointed in this team after two practices dominating the Pats we lay a goose egg in the actual game.

I get we were missing some starters but still not score at all not a great sign.

Oh well on to next week kinda thought this would be the dress rehearsal game considering the shortened preseason now but guess we will still see an extended look at the starters va the Jets

Welp, he was getting open which is a rarity for Eagles WR's 🤣

So why were the Pats playing their starters? maybe for chemistry and consistency when the real games begin? Maybe we should try it instead of "gelling" in week 11 lol

Agreed, guys Like Welker made careers out of it(this is why I wanted JJ in the 2020 draft)

Yeah it's pretty sad when you play 60 minutes and cannot get your team at least into FG range. 1,2,3,4th string no matter. I think Hurts would have at least gotten us that close ONCE

Soooooo…..if the starters don’t ALL stay healthy, this team might get blown out EVERY game. Pats probably could have scored 50 easy against this bunch.

Sure hope the starters are a LOT better because the product they put together tonight was AWFUL!

I do like Gainswell. Singleton looked like the ONLY guy playing on D the first half.

This team is a work in progress. Best case scenario is Hurts is the QB we want. Then we will have 2-3 picks in the first round to reload next season. That is when this team can start making strides. You are an optimist if you have division title hopes in 2021.....

This team honestly is to tough to judge to many unknowns. This team could easily go either direction be a good squad or a terrible squad. But think it will ultimately come down to the offense I do think the Defense will at least be a respectable unit.

During Siri's postgame interview I learned Hurts was out due to stomach pain and went to the hospital. He was diagnosed with a "stomach infection or bug." I think that's how Siri worded it. It was for that reason why the starting O did not play.

So does anyone have confirmation that the Jets game will be when the starters play most of the first half?

No conformation but you have to think we would want the starting offense out there together at some point before the season… Can’t feel that good about it only have what 2 series in actual games

I heard on the radio that was the plan, but who knows where they got their info....?

Yeah, this has been my thinking ever since I heard what happened with Hurts yesterday and the plan was scrapped.

Nope, I have no clue what our starting unit looks like or even how much - if at all - they will play in the last PS game.

Any real word on the illness for Hurts that sent him to the hospital????

I'm not worried about the game. Belichek seemed intent to win the game with strategic plays you would see in the middle of the season. He's just an ass.

There is no reason to call play action pass in the preseason.

Oh, now that I saw this article it made me remember. Judging from what Siri said in PC I had little confidence whether or not the starters will play vs the Jets.

Judging from what Nick Sirianni said after the Patriots game, it sure doesn’t sound like Jalen Hurts is going to play against the Jets.

Maybe I’m reading Sirianni wrong, but after the Patriots game, when he was asked about Hurts playing against the Jets, he emphasized that Hurts will get good work in joint practices during the week.

"Next week we have two practices against the Jets and two other practices,” he said. "I've said before, those are like games, so he is going to be able to get two more there. I'm pretty confident that we'll get a lot of good work against the Jets.”

Sounds like the decision has already been made.

Joint practices against the Jets and then shut him down.

Really? "Practices are like games."  ??? I didn't know games were orchestrated.

SIRIANNI: He actually went to the hospital to get evaluated for his stomach. Like I said, he came back, everything’s good, and he’s going to be OK.

Q: What was the issue?

SIRIANNI: He just had pain in his abdomen. Which, for a guy like that, to tell us — he’s a tough guy. So, it must have been hurting him pretty good for him to let us know about that.

Why wouldn’t you call play action in preseason lol if it’s a stable of your playbook you should be using it in preseason.  Your not going deep into your play book but you should definitely still be practicing concepts that your going to use in your actual offense in games.

SO what if Hurts gets hurt and Flacco has to start? You're not gonna get then rust off your starters until that happens? Does your boss pay you Monday and Tuesday so you can work on wed,th ,fri?. Like we're saving our starters for the SB run?(lmao)

Isn't it good to practice your plays in game with the people that will run them during the season and not just "practice" them? I call that good coaching, we should try it someday. We saw the "practice" where we blew the doors off the Pats, then proceeded to lay a GOOSE EGG. Not even a FG!!! And although it's only a PS game, it was a STUNNING, embarrassing defeat for our offense
