So we apparently had another great practice and won the day vs  the Jets… Can we actually carrying this strong practice into an actual game now???

Hoping we can see it before then hope to see the starters in the final preseason game… Would go a long way seeing them come out put up some points even if it’s the Jets. 
 

The best our starters have put together so far as been what 3 points vs most of the Steelers backups in game 1…..

Preseason is an actual game it doesn’t count vs the record of the regular season but it is a game. Refs, fans, actual contact tackling to the ground etc.

Hey FL/NC  spent the last week in Ft Meyers... Bonita beach has changed a little bit.... had some great food at Bimini ...my kid is keeping my old spot in Lehigh...I am seriously considering relocating to FL..except the wifey is from Boston and loves the cold... I do to....but I miss the Salt water of the Gulf. Luckily I suppose 2 Days back in MD...I might have escaped FL without catching The Covid Variant...I will see in 5 days if I am safe. I really enjoyed the city .

I don't know if y'all discussed the Brian Baldinger discussion about Jordan Mialata against the Jets...he said Mialata is playing at 381 lbs because when he played at 360 last year he kept getting injured . That is RE dic u. Los...381 lbs I can't wait.

One of my favorite days of the year is opening day of the NFL…I just realized my next Spartan race is on opening day. WTH! Not happy with myself on that decision. Trip is paid for already or I would definitely find a different race.

So besides the Eagles game, I will need to record the Chiefs Browns game; the Steelers Bills game; the Saints Packers game….those look like the best games.

It isn't really though. The starters barely play, the game means next to nothing, the scheme on both sides of the ball is vanilla. The only point in preseason games is for the depth guys to try and show they belong.

There are teams desperate for tackles. Jacksonville cannot protect their #1 pick. Cincy has huge holes in their line. Seems to me we could get a #2 from one of them should Dillard show well on Friday. I am not so sure I would take a 3rd at this point in the season.....

 

  At a minimum take a 2nd round pick for Dillard and our 6th.....

Yeah I moved from there.it's a terrific area. You get used to the humidity. It takes time to adjust. I wish I woulda stayed

But again it is scheme isn’t in depth but you run the concepts your O and D are suppose to in games…. Starters barely playing doesn’t mean when they are on the field they can’t show thing so don’t care about the final score of the game if we win or lose. I do care about seeing our first team offense and D being up to move/stop the ball. I do care about seeing our first team offense being able to score things like that though.

  IF 1st string players do not play and your team does not score, it does not mean your team is bad. IF your opponent is playing first string players against your 2nd and 3rd string players and they whoop your butt, it does not mean they are good. Not a game. I have seen many years when teams look like crap in PS and end up winning the division. I have also seen the opposite. You may feel it is a game, but the record for PS means nothing, so how does that translate?

And I’ve seen many years that teams look terrible in preseason and are terrible in regular season… you can look at exceptions to everything. If we go into the regular season and beat a good team riddled with injuries ie SF last year didn’t make us good what was impressive about it??? 
It’s the nfl things happen odds are if our starters play will mean NY plays there starters as well. 

As for record who stated anything about the record I care how the O and D starters perform nothing else in a game setting even if it’s only a half or a qtr. 

Sit here and say preseason means nothing but you saying that if you see our starters go out there and get beat by Jets backups??? What if the starting D can’t stop the backups??? 
 

What if our offense sucks against the Jets starters that ain’t the best sign either Jets are not a power house squad same for the D.

I’m sorry you guys can’t find value in these games but I won’t change my view on it either.

Hey TD123 I like your thinking. Hopefully Dillard does NOT continue to devalue his status with poor play. with our wealth at OL and great depth we could have other guys we could move. Nick publicly continues to support Dillard and won't name Mialata the starter. All Dillard needs to do is show he can play in this league

Agreed. Nick conversation today and questions about starters playing this JETS week he was purposely vague only saying that his team will have plenty of work in getting ready for Atlanta the next two weeks.

I’m sorry you guys can’t find value in these games but I won’t change my view on it either. 

  You are good at playing What if's.... If a 2nd string beats us by a FG in a quarter it means nothing. Sure, we need more work, but we are not scheming for them. We are playing a vanilla offense and a vanilla defense. They may not be. They may be blitzing often or using trick plays to get ahead. Who knows? It means little to me in any case. If you think it does fine.

And you good at what if’s… your whole starting point was what IF our first string beats up backups in preseason what if they don’t or they beat up starters.
