That what I said from the start lol think Brees is the realm Hurts needs to be in… Again Brees was a great deep ball thrower but he didn’t heave in 60 yards in air like a Mahomes and Allen do… His passes were timed being able to hit a guy 40 yards down field in stride works similar to Hurts pass to Watkins what was it like 40 yards maybe in air but was in stride and he ran it 91

What is your defintion of a "deep ball"????? I saw Brees toss 60+ yard hail marys many times. If Hurts can't throw 40 yards,we have the wrong QB for the receivers we have

2003 Quarterback Challenge

  1. 62 yards Tom Brady
  2. 61 yards Jeff Blake
  3. 61 yards Mark Brunnell      Brady can do it too

At any rate doesn't matter what others do or can't,what matter is Hurts. If he can't toss the long ball(in my estimation that is a min of 50 yards in the air-preferably 55) we are wasting our WR's on him-WORD. I still want Olave(OSU) in the next draft. I am from Akron,Ohio. OSU played Akron, the score was 59-7 OSU but Akron scored first lmao. I don't know why they schedule these stupid over matched lopsided games.it's a waste of TV time. When I went to Akron U,our HS could beat them

Sure Hurts can throw 62 yards also with no pads and pressure coming at him… Hell he had a 55 yard throw to Djax last year in air went from like the 8 yard line down to the opposing 37-38…

And think he can throw it 60+ in a Hail Mary end of game gets time to set and throw because there is no pressure.

But these are perfect conditions in my mind not normal circumstances in the nfl. I looking a during a game pressure can’t always set Brees and Brady weren’t chucking it 60+ they don’t have the same arm as guys like Mahomes and Allen who can sling it 60 yards off there back foot like it was nothing guys

Too bad the game isn't in Philly. Temps would be a little closer to football weather here lol.

84º at KO time instead

I don’t think Hurts has the arm to throw a 60 yard bomb not in air at least…. I mean we seem the ball falling short last week on a couple deep throws mainly to Smith…

Not to say he can’t be a good QB but will require him to throw the ball sooner anticipate guys breaking open and timing with the WRs

Hurts can throw it that far. In fact he has a very good deep ball. He doesn’t have the arm to throw longer laser on a rope type throws like a Josh Allen. But he can throw it deep. Just had to put more air under it.

Hurts had games throwing over 400 yards with Lamb at OK. Throwing it all over the field. Not sure if you guys have watched any of his college tape.

Again didn’t dispute his deep ball ability I do dispute the arm strength to get the ball down the field…. again guys like Brees and Brady don’t have that arm either lot of those throws deep are only like 30-40 yards but they hit there players in stride.

And I’ve also seen Hurts chuck of like 55 yards to Djax in air sure he could get the extra 5 yards to hit 60 yards as well if he is set and has the time to unload but again that’s a far cry from guys like Mahomes and Allen who can be running right left unset and unload 60 yard bombs I don’t see hurts being that guy he isn’t my point was he will have to throw more with timing and good touch to make his deep ball deadly he has shown the touch now it’s getting the timing right

You gotta remember that it’s not just the yardage downfield you have to throw….it’s also the width of the field.

JaMarr Chase really just hit the accelerator for a big TD

I’m not forgetting anything lmao…. My point really was simple does Hurts have the arm of a Mahomes or Allen??? No he isn’t going to make the same caliber throws they can get away with…. But as I stated Brady and Brees don’t either they don’t have cannon arms but Brees at least was one of the best deep ball throwers I’ve ever seen.

In all honesty I was defending hurts and we all know I’m not his biggest fan I think he is alright not sure he is a franchise guy

I’ve been agreeing with your assessment on his arm pretty much. Sounds like we’ve been saying similar things.

Biggest thing with Hurts now and I’m not sure if it’s Hurts or Siri play calling but it’s the ability to attack the middle of the field and the intermediate areas.

I think Hurts has shown he can give you a respectable deep ball and shows a willingness to throw it and we have see the bubble screens etc. for the underneath stuff.

Really wondering where the rest of the routes in the tree are. Siri’s O been pretty simple and basic so far.

My guess simplistic O for Hurts quick and easy reads for him will start to add more as the season progresses

Welp then we need the next Mahomes or Allen because thats what it will take. That is BS-"no pads or pressure"  Opposite, the adrenaline kick in alone will give you at least 5 more yards,so thats a bogus excuse .Either you can throw the distance or you can't. If Hurts cannot,we need to look for a QB who CAN or ONCE AGAIN we will be wasting our WR development

This is redundant, either he can throw the deep ball or he can't. So Brees was "one of the best deep ball throwers",but he can't throw a deep ball? I'm confused. You can't have it both ways. Once again we are back to what defines a "deep" ball and once again if Hurts can't throw that, then we need another QB

Nothing over 30 yards,cause Hurts can't hit those 🤣

He can throw deep. The point being made is that guys with cannons for arms can throw further distance throws on a rope. So the ball gets there faster making it harder for defenders to break on it. The stronger arm usually makes it so those guys don’t necessarily have to be set to throw. Mike Vick could flick his wrist and throw a laser.

Hurts has a NFL arm

Good day for the Eagles with the WFT and Giants both losing. The Giants are going to melt down. No one likes the coach and the ownership is hugely frustrated. The WFT is going to struggle to move the ball all year, and their defense is coming back to earth. Their back seven isn't that good, and I would guess players there will begin to check out soon as well.

Define this, what is an "NFL arm?" How is it measured? If it's "good enough to play in the NFL" then what is the cut off point? If your WR's are outpacing your QB and he can't make the throws on the routes they are being taught to run, at what point is he no longer an "NFL arm" as far as your particular team is concerned? How deep a ball must one throw to be an "NFL arm"? Now you are talking about not how deep a QB can throw but his velocity. SO I am trying to understand these statements definitions."Deep ball" and "NFL arm"

Djax is such a deuche! Just get into the endzone. Why do you have to showboat sideways? Wish someone would have knocked him on his butt before he got into the endzone.

Great. Chiefs lost so now AR will come into Philly and put 50 on our birds to win his 100th game with another franchise. I expect a wupping…..hopefully not 2 weeks in a row. I can handle losing to AR (non conference) but NEVERto Dallas.

Mailata out? Good grief! Well, my reason for wanting to keep Dillard. You cannot have enough good OLinemen….see last year.

OK this helps a little, but now we are shifting to "velocity"
