Ignoring the LB position for the past 2 decades needs to be corrected. Look at all of the better defenses in the league and you see all have an dominate LB. We need to grab one next draft along with another DE and CB in the first round. Would go a long way to helping this unit improve. Add in another DT and S later on. Maybe we would have a decent unit next season... Still a long way from a top 10 but at least we should be able to stop other teams occasionally...

Correct,  do NOT avoid the BPA if it happens to be a LB.

Obviously the play calling isn't doing Hurts any favors

It's not hard to play D when you only have to defend against the pass.

Idk... they didn't punt an he had great production.  With other easy opportunities there.  I don't see how anyone can view playcalling as an issue.  It was good enough to score a TD pretty much on each drive.

Belicheat knows how Tom ticks and what his weaknesses are. So no real surprise he was limited last night. means little for the other 30 teams, unless Belicheat writes a book about it and sends it out

Yeah...BB knows how to make it rain.... lol

But at least the offense was keeping pace with them. It's not like other teams haven't done that before (remember play 30 last year?) Our defense is "bend don't break",but they did yesterday especially in the 2nd 1/2.. Missed alot of stop opportunities, but it was against one of the best offenses in the league,so I don't feel we did much worse than any other team does against them. IMO that makes our defense "average" and I was trying to view that as a bright side. At the 1/'2 we were still in the game?? yeah we were!!! We all want to pitch a shut out every game-not happening. I thought the first 1/2 we held our own and were still in the game. The D did about the same the second half(another 21 scored) but the O failed to stay on the field. We invest little on defense,so why is it a shock we get points put up on us??? They key is(like the Manning Colts) is to outscore your opponent and we failed to do it

Dude... KC scored a TD EVERY TIME THEY TOUCHED THE BALL in the first half.    It can't get any worse.   Just say " my bad, i made a mistake " on this one.  They were not worse in the 2nd half, they actually got a stop at the start of the half with the INT.

I'm trying to find reasons to stay a fan

Sure... but don't throw out that BS... your defense does not play better when they give up a TD each drive like they did in the first half.

Your reason to be a fan is easy, it's your team...so as an adult that's enough.     The other reason would be the offense yesterday did not punt and they did that without the QB turning it over. No blocked FGs...etc.

They lost because they couldn't stop KC, and for some things that could easily be corrected on offense.

Easily the most entertaining game of the season yesterday.  ATL was a snoozefest, nothing good came out of a game where ATL basically sabotaged their own offense multiple times during the game and refused to tackle on defense.

How many  LB's do you think we have bypassed over the past 20 years.... Would be a fun challenge. To go thru past drafts and see how many solid LB's we could have had and what HR drafted instead....

Noone stops KC,they score at least 30+ a game,so we basically gave up One more TD than anyone else. Not that much worse than the other teams they have played. Difference was those other teams outscored them(which we failed to do)

Add CB's in here too

Forget 20 years... Jerry Robinson 1979.   But I'm sure there are plenty.

GB..  they scored every time.  The reason it was ONLY 21, was because they only had the ball 3 times.   That's the offense keeping the ball away. The 2nd half started with our defense getting an INT.  Same 21 points, but we actually stopped them.   To me, the defense then was better in the 2nd half, because they actually stopped them.    It's not hard math.

21 first 1/2 ,21 2nd 1/2,looks like wash to me

Real Quick I went thru a couple drafts. 2014 We could have drafted Kyle Van Noy instead of Marcus Smith. In 2015 We could have drafted Bud Dupree or Shaq Thompson instead of Agholor...  I did not look thru too many others because we actuall made a decent pick or no linebackers taken after...

Because you don't take into consideration how many possessions a team has, which is flawed.

I hit 2 HRs... but batted 3 times... it's a little better than hitting 2 HRs while batting 5 times.

What about last year with Reagor?

The play call where Ertz was open for a TD was nice, settled for 3 due to poor throw, but the play call was good.

Actually if you really watch that play…..the LB(I believe it was) held Ertz and disrupted the timing. Otherwise TD.

What does amount of at bats have to do with the score? You dont win by the amount of at bats you have

I thought the call against Jjaw was BOGUS. he had to "complete his route".So how(or why would you) do you DO that when the ball is ALREADY in the EZ???? Super bad call IMO

Hmmmm. Objectively speaking, if you were a Chiefs fan, would your opinion change? Hell, I’m a diehard Eagles fan and it sure looked like an illegal pick to me. I mean, would the Eagles REALLY throw it to JJaw? Hell no! So clearly he was out there to pick the guy. Haha.

Haha. Sorry GB, you are losing this argument.

Watching some fabulous offense from the Chargers. Herbert is so good

Hmmmm. That’s a bit of a stretch, isn't it? Ertz doesn't get to it either way. It was an errant throw, period. It happens. Herbert missed a wide open Williams tonight.

So look at the the KC games to date. Anyone else stopping them??? NO.It's just other teams outscored them. We are about 1 TD worse than any other defense they played(big deal) So we are a little less than average. look that up. Every other D has given up 30+ points also,so it's not like anyone is shutting them down eh?

But he's hitting everything else, unless Hurts lol

I’m with you on this! I am surprised he is so good. I never paid attention to his Oregon games, but the other guys got so much more attention. He is good!

Oh man his touch is just fantastic, that touch pass to Eckler was insane

GB, in a game of offense, beating Mahomes will be like trying to beat Marino in his prime, it won’t happen! I’m guessing you are old enough to have enjoyed Marino’s talent. Wow was he good!

Dan was my GF's(at the time) cousin. He's a great person as well as a great QB. She was my GF for 12 years ,got to know him well. Talked to him and we laughed about that fake spike play in the playoffs HAHAHA
