So you are just stating that we are basically just the weakest personnel defensively in the league. I see the shortcomings of the talent in the D. But also know that our DC has to do a better job. Sure Cox is having a down year….but we have Hargrave kicking butt which Schwartz didn’t have. Graham is out…but we have Sweat kicking in and contributing now. Lost Jenkins but brought in Gannon’s boy Harris. Plus have a legit corner in Slay.
Anyway I’m not preaching it’s the best D in the league….I’m just not accepting of them being incapable of doing anything though. Been pathetic! I’m not just letting Gannon slide on that. He needs to get his crap together some here. Especially gotta figure out some kind of redzone D at least. Having your LB matched up against The Cheetah is bad business. AR owned us on that. Having your guy come in at LB and they constantly run at him because he keeps missing tackles is the DC issue. Sure he could use All Pros across the D…I’m not holding the D to that kind of responsibility though. Just gotta stop somebody…sometime. 40 points isn’t acceptable. That’s college bowl game stuff.

I'm simply stating we are not good defensively.... from a player standpoint.   Why does it always have to be extreme and read between the lines crap with you?    I don't know if ATL or Houston is worse .... or any other team, I don't study the defenses of 32 teams.  I have other things to do in life, but it's easy to see, we need  lot of help on the defense... player wise.

New Details Emerge From Cowboys Decision To Release Jaylon Smith (msn.com)

If Smith would be a fit for the Eagles you can bet Howie will look the other way.

He needs to clear waivers, no way we claim him with the current contract,  and if he clears, then he decides where he wants to play.      This idea that Howie has total control on this, or even say half, is just not true.

Isaac Seamulo.... is the only Eagle on his second contract under 30 years old that was drafted by the Eagles.

But yeah.... Gannon ( if he had much say) bringing in the wrong bottom of the barrel types in 2021 is the big issue...lol.

IDK we never really gave Schwartz much to work with either. Lurie has never awoken from his slumber to tell Howie on that count. I wish Lurie would grow a set

2-3 guys can't cover 11 positions lol. Even if they could cover 2 at once you are still down 5-7 players

IDK the question is,is he 7.2 million a year good?" If so, you make the move. It's not like he's 32 here, we can sign him to a 4-5 year. If we don't I'm sure someone else will

Idk...I think you need to rethink how things may work in the front office.  I think it's a great possibility Lurie has Howie in there because Howie does what Jeff wants.

I watched the vid of Meyer. OMG this is way overblown. You're telling me famous people never get hit on??? LOL. It's not like he had his arms around her fondling her kissing her neck jebus.. Maybe he was drunk and drowning his sorrows and having a little fun. I can't believe everyone picks apart everyone else's life as if they are holier than thou. It's ridiculous. The ONLY person he needs to respond to is his WIFE-everyone else should cram it where the sun don't shine

I believe that if you sign him ...it also comes with the 9.2 mil injury guarantee for next year.   Not the time for this type of investment yet.

yeah we don't know. Either Luries is stupidly directing him,OR Lurie is giving Howie free reign. IDK which it is,but neither one works. Howie needs a GM "football guy",the he can sit on the beach and have umbrella drinks all day

IDK his value. if we wait someone else will make a deal. Even if the boyz had to eat 2 mil of the 9.2. We could restructure at 7 mil per or whatever is agreed to. Sure we can risk waiting until he clears(like everyone else),but this is why we lose good players(or some)

IDK, this D is based on getting QB pressures because we've always(for the most part) had a sketchy secondary. Now you have a chance at a guy that can do just that and stiffen up the run D. So what is THAT worth????? I get we're not SB bound, but maybe we are 2-3 years from now and we have that LB still under contract.if we're re-building then REBUILD!!!! This guy is NOT some over the hill aging player, he is in his prime and probably will be for 2-3 years. Besides the fact we pay him, his boost to this defense/team has no price. We can also pick his brain on how the Dullaz D works(WTH is that worth???) And while that could be "overblown" any tidbit helps

See the PFF practice draft I did? 2 CB"s and a LB, then I added a decent G(in case Kelce retires AGAIN and we move Dickerson into C) A+,A-,A-,A- for a total grade of A. Not many offensive skill players next draft, we'd be stupid to ignore the defense again(but it's Howie so......) as much as I would love Olave I couldn't move up for him(maybe add his teammate Garrett in a later round)

I am all in for defense this draft. We could use a player at every position and actually 2 LB's! We only have 22 mil cap space next year. Maybe sign Jaylen Smith released from Dallas? Better than what we have...

OR we can CONTINUE to draft 2nd rate players and pick up "el cheapo" aging rejects. Sometimes we get LUCKY with a guy,but if he FITS(and I can't see why he wouldn't),then we need to get him in here. He's proven, not like the shots you take with rooks, he's young enough to keep awhile and you can scratch that spot off for awhile. IDK I view this as an opportunity. Salaries keep rising. Even at 9 mil a year 3-4 years from now, that could be a bargain price the way it's going lol

I would pass at this time.  Just not the right time IMO.  Need to get some drafted players in here first.   I think the money can be used elsewhere... if you take both years combined that's $16.2 mil. Much rather keep the cap space at the moment.

What if he agrees to a restructure? Are we certain of what amount we would be hit for?

True, but I am looking at the inflationary salaries. 8 mil a year average could be a bargain 4 years from now,and frankly if this team stops believing, we will be right back in the basement(for years) very fast. The way to keep them believing is to bring in believable players when you have the opportunity. Next draft is not near as good as the last one. A few worth taking, but overall very few LB's that would be worthwhile(assuming we take ANY at ALL)

We would be locked into the 9.2 mil he is owed unless we wait for him to clear waivers. Not a contract whiz but there has to be a way

How about looking at Stephon Gilmore? Ne just released him and he is better than what we have!

If he was 29-30 I would agree, but here is  proven YOUNG player with lots of miles left. I would make this investment. There are ZERO "hot commodity" LB's next draft(if we even take one)

BTW he has played every snap of every game he was in(aka no injuries)

SO,we paid mailiata, but we're not paying for a defensive player. Sounds like Howie. I think he got gun shy after the "dream team" debacle. he needs to remove those blinders again

Bet the Gnats snatch him up lol. if I am him I'm not worried, someone will employ him very fast

Most are better than what we have, more D&D failure(draft and development). But really there are only a handfull of LB's next draft. After round 2 even THAT talent falls off
