Lol at the anger on here.  It is what it is.  The team isn't going to run the ball with the current make-up of players.  The run blockers are out up front... this particular QB will run, its what he does.  It's his obvious #1 skull he brings to the table... like the tangible skill, not the make believe stuff the 7 year old fans seem to cling to.

It is what it is, they got a win.  The #1 pick seems to be improving... and Watkins and Gainwell look good.   Idk whatever you are all looking for, but how long does it need to go on before you realize you aren't getting it from this group.   They need to do it their way.

2 plays stand out for me in my point about the weak arm.   The first was the pass where Smith caught it at the 1 or 2. A stronger arm there gets the ball to him where he doesn't have to come get it outside the end zone.     The second was the INT down the sideline.   Sure he overthrew Ertz...but the bigger point was the DB knew he couldn't reach Smith who was running a clear out, so he broke off to catch the INT.

These are issues that aren't going to change.  But congrats to getting a win, regardless of how bad they played.  Miami lost, if Indy wins to keep pace with Tennessee,  it's a great weekend for Eagles fans.

You know I did not expect much from this year's team. However, I expected to see growth whether we won or lost. Siri is lost. He cannot call plays. the penalties are on the coaches. When we get called for a pick the 3rd time? Siri is in over his head and everyone knows it. Gannon seems to have made steps on that side of the ball. He alternated the LB's, I assume to see what each can do... You say we were not going to run the ball. Why? When we needed to run out the clock and Carolina knew this, we got over 25 yards on 3 plays! Our O-Line was plenty good enough to run block against that defense. Siri called all up the gut runs during the game which were worthless. Sanders strengths are outside runs.

Doing it their way? What way is that exactly? Do you see any sort of scheme? All I see is the same set of bubble screens and quick passes to the outside that go for a loss. Mix that in with the RPO's and there you have it. Siri's big game plan.... What a laugher he is as a HC.... TB is going to walk to a 30 point win Thursday.... Only reason I say 30 is because they have a short week.

Yep that blocked kick sure helped. We'll get those every game no question. We slopped out a win, I wasn't impressed

YES SIR! I feel it was the blocked punt that swung the momentum. Pretty sure would've been a L if not for that HUGE ST play and giving the Iggles a short field.

Playing coherent ball is not a high bar. In fact, every fan base in the NFL asks for it. I'm no different and you shouldn't lower your bar so low that you need 5 Tequilas to get under it

Merrill Reese summed it up midway thru the 2nd 1/4 when I was listening on way to the shop - "NO FUNDAMENTALS"

You should know this as a professional in any sport. You don't need someone to tell you. Players know who made the error, no need to state it is there?????? (more HS and college stuff here) if you haven't figured this out after playing 6-8 years in HS and college,You better ALREADY know this.if you don't someone failed you along the way

Mailata never played football in high school or college

Yes I see scheme.  It's the Chip Kelly offense, except now we have a running QB that can throw short passes consistently accurate.    It's playing to the strengths of the QB.    Yes we ran the ball at the end of the game as a tired Carolina D that was on the field a ton at the end.  Congrats they got 25 yards.   They aren't going to win like the 1982 Redskins.   For me,  I want to see as much Hurts, Smith and Watkins as possible.  Mix in Gainwell for some key plays.      But I'm probably the lowest on Sanders on this board. I don't see him as an impact player at all... he can run a little,  but dude has zero football savvy.  Anyway,  you need to find out about your QB, giving it to RBs isn't helping his development.    Obviously they didn't punt last week, so I would think the coach has a clue.    The issue that escapes people, when the other team has better players, you can't just do what you want.    The game changed a little when they hit the deep shot to Watkins where Carolina had players in the box, and when Hurts kept it and ran around Reddick... up until that point Carolina was focused on stopping the run.   Those 2 plays made them have to think a little... helped at the end.   Probably why the read option stuff was making Hurts choose to pass.   It is what it is, limited ability leads to limited play calling.    But it's playing to Hurts strengths for sure.

Looking forward to the complaints about not running the ball enough vs Tampa... lol.

Nothing is wrong with it, but when you play so crappy, you have to count on a play like this to win, that doesn't make your team good,it makes your team LUCKY. Maybe we can beat the gnats with all their injuries, but unless we get 2,3 lucky plays per game,I don't see us going to post season with our playing ability. We slopped out a win vs a team that had an off day. It happens, but I am no where near anointing us as "coming on strong". The win just knocked us down a few draft spots is all lol

Who said our team is”good” or "coming on strong”..,..definitely won’t to know he said "we are bound for the postseason.” We aren’t a very good team. Thought most of us agreed on this. My most optimistic viewpoint was that if we pulled out a few victories early then remained in the hunt enough that we could come on strong to finish the season. That being all these young core guys improving enough to get us there.

"We were just executing at its purest form,'' Hurts said. ''It was the zone read making it happen.''                        If you buy this BS I have swamp land to sell you, and while I am happy for them that they slopped out a win, statements like this one tell me how far away we are from perfection lol

He was describing the end of the game when they made the plays to win. That’s exactly what happened.

Limiting Hurts is mostly what ‘Siri’s Scheme’ has been

Aren't you in Carolina right now?   Isn't the win good for you so you don't have to deal with the locals?

There are no sports bars here,if they are Panther fans they do it at home,so IDK

Yep,he's right. That's what I saw, with no growth. They have no plan they are just wining it as they go(and that's not a plan) Sanders 55 yards(with his ONE catch). Sometimes we get LUCKY that our WR's can go find a ball that should not have been thrown, otherwise its Run Hurts Run. Hurts is Bubba Chump

Hurts is already limited,  the scheme is emphasizing his two skills....running and the short pass..   other than that what " TANGIBLE " skills does he have that stands out?   Gotta coach to your players strengths , the QB is the most important player.  RPO, bubble screens and short crosses are perfect for dude with a weak but accurate arm.

For me the RPO STINKS. We need more play action(similar but different). Can't get play action if you cannot establish a run game. Siri's big plan is to go from RPO to play action. That's all we got. Back and forth. I was planning on a game we could slop out for a win,and this was it

Now everyone doesn't like this style... geez if only anyone saw this coming when they drafted this particular player.... " yeah, but college"   lol

Number 1) He's a rookie so you have to give him time and Number 2) you have to admire his calm at the end of the game

Your point is???? You find ONE guy and harp on it? I doubt seriously if he needs to be told he made a bad play.I'm sure he is aware of it and doesn't need to be told "Next play". if he needs that,I don't want him on my team because whiners finish last

Doesn't RPO already have the playaction in there????  2013 quote " playaction on steroids"    the QB decides off of one read on what to do.   I don't like it either, but everyone was buying into it.   Except Doug, but nah, this had nothing to do with why he didn't want to put in Hurts or be here this year...lol

We drafted for Wentz  and we still did last year.We need a pocket passer QB who can run,not an RG3 clone(at least he could throw lol). Howie will push Hurts because he doesn't want to look bad.But this team is not built for a RPO college offense(see Chip Kelly)

LOL we won't, because we will be down 28 by 1/2 time

Nothing to do with Tampa's run D though?

But this is not happening Ham. How good can Gains be if he doesn't touch the ball? Sanders? how about the 2 throws to our speed burner WR's? They gonna learn much with underthrown balls? The only guys getting a work out are on defense and Hurts, who's 1 read and run college offense allows it. Noone else can improve if they don't get the ball

They are SB champs for a reason. We're not going to beat them anywhere on either side of the ball

LMAO, no Siri's scheme is "Hurts is our offense". I will go back and forth between RPO and play action. We fail on play action because we have no running game,so it's all RPO baby!!!.I bet Chip Kelly is jealous of our offense 🤣

^ what he said, which equates to our burner WR's being wasted picks with THIS QB

Yeah ,the difference is how the O line goes off the ball. Those "Ineligible downfield" lineman are on HURTS

Number 1) He is NOT a rookie, he was here ALL last year and played 4 games also. He knew this team last year. He's not green 2) He's calm most of the time, usually that also equates to under thrown balls because there is no adrenaline flow. Noone else seems excited to play either. Noone seems to be fired up for anything. Seems like going through the motions for a paycheck to me

Aren't they the #1 run defense?  They are tough to run on... but their secondary has injuries, so I hope we don't hear thr peanut gallery complain about running the ball.   This should be ideal for the crossing routes, especially thrown at Shermon.
