SO IDK what's wrong all I know is it's WRONG and it's the same plays every week. Coach? Player limits? Howie pressuring Siri?? IDK but whatever it is it's not working at all

You can pretty much write down every play we run before the game, almost in order in the 1st 1/4 no matter who we are facing. This one size fits all just isnt going to cut it in MY view

That’s fine but that isn’t Hurts making plays that’s the playmakers…

Again see difference in passing first half Hurts was something like 15/24 for like 74 yards vs Carolina. Think it really highlights the throws he is making 15 completed passes for 74 yards.

I want to see the actual QB making throws ie the pass to Quez deep, the dime to Geodart on the final TD drive these big time throws are what I want to see and more consistently.

Again if we can consistently attack teams deep and in the intermediate make them respect us in those areas it should open up our bread and butter underneath YAC stuff but right now just looks like teams sit on the underneath stuff

^ what he said

BTW as for Hurts throwing 300 yards a game it's because he HAS to. We can't even get 150 yards on the ground from RB's so that leaves ONE option

Not many teams get 150 yards most weeks from RBs...

Not sure whether in college, high school or the pros it matters if you’re talking distance. He’s shown 55 yard in the air throws. He’s thrown it over 50 as an Eagle. Sure ge can’t just flip his wrist like Mike Vick could do to achieve that. I accept that. I’m fine with that.

We know it won’t be Rosie

Yes 51 yards in the air, absolutely winding up.   You say he throws a good deep ball... why is he short on all those types of throws where it isn't 1, 2, 3 throw?     I don't think it's misjudging he distance all the time... do you?  If you don't know differences between HS , College and Pro... I don't know what to tell you..  51 yards is not an NFL arm today.    How many examples do we need each week for you to acknowledge it hurts ( no pun intended) his game?

even with passing out of the back field? I consider these behind the line "running" plays

Not real high on Siri. He wasn’t ready….clearly. If he can get there eventually would be the question. But let’s not act like he’s developed this perfect offense specific for Hurts and gameplans perfect every game. Siri hasn’t done a good job so far. To me that’s just fact.

Nothing developed for Hurts... using an offense that fits his skill sets... it's nothing new, you see it on Saturdays.

But you liked Chipper and thought he was so great. Do we’ll just let it all play out and see who’s right. I think Hurts is probably screwed because of it.

Again, extremes with you... can't discuss with someone who won't listen.  Planet Ham must be nice!

You are missing my point. Every QB needs a running game! How do you expect any growth if all he does is pass the ball EVERY play? Sure we need to find out about him. How about running the ball to set up the pass? I don't care who runs it. Gainwell is fine also. To expect any growth when you pass 70% of the time is never going to happen. The other Team has a terrible Run Defense. Not sure what you are saying better players limiting what you can do....

They didn't punt vs KC?  How do you critcize that ?  Yesterday Rhule specifically said they were looking to shut down the run?     Handing off isn't going to help his development.    Yesterday I thought was nice to see him win a game coming from behind... that was a first for me to see.  He isn't going to develop in a week or a month. Give him time.

Agreed, the game plan should change with your opposition. Tactics should be different every game not the same "plan". When we can run on a team we SHOULD(but we don't because we employ the 1 size fits all game plan)

Thought we ran on ATL?

Ok fair enough I mean yeah if you include those that's a different ball game.

1 hour ago, GreenbleedinNC said:

Yeah but that defeats the purpose of drafting flat out burner WR's. We should have drafted TALL, heavier guys who can do JUMP balls(such as Alshon types). Hightower would probably work in this offense

Should have one of those regardless of QB.  Need that " A" option.   It's not Smith or Goedert.... they are complimentary pieces.    I think every offense should have the size and speed elements.   2017 style for us. No weaknesses in the skill position group.

Well I know they are passes stat wise. I suppose I should have worded it differently as "Plays that start behind the LOS" so I will take that adjustment

Well, I am fairly certain we will be down by 20 at halftime. So logic will tell you that running the ball will not come into play when they are scoring at will. But I would like to see them run the ball in the first half. TB's run defense is not that great this year. If they never help the offensive line by running the ball 40% of the time then you will start seeing the pass protection diminish.

Then everyone will start the "O-Line has injuries" BS again. You know what? Cleveland had 4th and 5th string Tackles playing yesterday and that did not deter them one bit about running the ball. Funny thing was they got the same production out of their 5th stringer.... that's a shocker....

Who is a better run D than Tampa this year?

Yeah, but we have 3 burners out most plays. Not even giving Hurts the "climb the ladder" option at WR which he could really use on 3rd downs. I understand we have 2 TE's but we could use an intermediate threat on those downs and we don't

We are seeing guys do this like Tyreek Hill and Cordarelle Patterson who can destroy you from the back field OR out on a pass route. We can't even get our RB's out of the backfield with or without the ball lol

Stats are misleading. Tampa Bay has given up the least yards on the ground per game, but mostly due to the fact Brady has been torching up the other teams secondary. They are up so much by Halftime most teams abandon the run for the most part....

What about yards per Attempt?  New England was ahead or even the whole game.   Dallas was pretty close.  Didn't LA beat them?    I mean they beat ATL and Miami pretty bad, 2 out of 5 games.

But why let facts get in the way.   They have a really good run D.  Because they have a really good run D, not for any other reason.

Not to keep harping...but you know me, I hate when people make statements of generalities without knowing the facts...  you know what they say about " assume"

Tampa 5 games....    halftime ...  1 vs Dallas up 5 points.    2 vs ATL up 11 points....  3 vs Rams... down 7 points....  4 vs Patriots.... down 1 point....  5. vs Miami ... up 14.

Miami was winning after 1st Q.... 39 yards.  NE led most of the game.... minus 1 yard.    Rams ahead all game... 76 yards.....  Dallas even all game... 60 yards.

Teams passing on them... 391, 300, 343, 320, 275.     The game plan should be clear, and it shouldn't be running.

Hightower has good speed. But nope. Don’t agree. Those long balls to Watkins have been huge plays. But speed isn’t just going deep. Break a big play off a short pass can happen. Tyreek Hill gets the ball in all kinds of ways. One missed tackle and…boom….he’s gone. Saw the Bills great corner White whiff on Hill on a short pass and he was gone.

Where did he go?  It wasn't the end zone?

Has anyone ever seen Siri’s playbook? Hurts was running a much more sophisticated offense in college. Watch OK offense and see how that coach does nothing but laugh and look down at our coach’s offense. Wish we could buy him away from OK to upgrade.

I'll pass on college....but how are the defenses OK plays against?

I suppose what I am trying to say is, I don't want to see the ugly "fluke play" wins. I want to see a win playing solid coherent ball and I have not seen that yet. We "try hard" so gold stars all around, but with no growth we're not going anywhere

GB...  you have 4 types of games.

1.  Look bad and lose

2.  Look bad and win

3. Look good but lose

4.  Look good and win.

What do you think the chances of getting # 4 are with this team ?  In 17 games you might get 3?    There will always be something to complain about with a team like this.  In reality anything that doesn't fall into category 1 is a positive.   17 tries... be lucky to get 10 combined outside of category 1.   So we will have to take positives when we can.    When was the last time ST made a key play for us?    The D clamped down.  The O scored when needed to win a game at the end, first time as a pro for Hurts.

Take it and build from there and move on.  17 chapters of a book to write, let's see the whole story.

But hey Carolina is the second or third best defense depending on what you use to measure league wide. So clearly we should have been an offensive juggernaut. Otherwise everybody isn’t good enough.

Are we looking at the offenses that Carolina has played so far... is that part of the equation?    Jets, Saints,  Texans,  Eagles... not exactly 1998 Minnesota?     Dallas is probably the only good offense they faced so far...they scored 36.

Idk... might mean something. ..depends what you look at... or how you want to spin it to make your favorite player look better than he is?

You play fantasy football. It’s been a very well known fact that WR traditionally click and hit it in their third season.

Wow... imagine then what the QB from last year had to work with?   Excuse didn't work for him though?

Who’s All Pro level on this team this year? The Gravedigger looks like the only one with a chance. So dog every other player out on the team that isn’t playing at ARod levels.

Yeah...he can thank # 91 for that.

Then those plays should count toward running for us too. There you go...we run the ball... lol

Right... we need players.  We know that... but we get them in the offseason...now we just look for current  player improvements.  Watkins to me is a nice one.... Gainwell looks like he will be the lead RB soon enough.  That's 2 nice developments
