Everyone stunk except our QB.   He runs well.

Runs well but unfortunately doesn't throw very well. But then he's not being helped by his coach I don't think. I mean Smith is a fast, smooth WR who runs really good routes but this scheme never seems to lean on that. Watkins is fast but they don't seem to get him in behind very often. I just don't think the offensive scheming and play calling is helping.

Seems so...

12 of 26 for 115 yds

Sigh

The whole crowd erupted when we actually ran the ball. Everybody understands it….so at this point it seems like it must be a directive from the FO for Hurts to throw throw throw. Every QB(not too mention the D) needs support from his RB. This has been just embarrassing.

Our best weapon is Sanders….yet they just refuse to unleash him. Makes zero sense!

Saw a few good things.

Mailata looked more comfortable but looked like he was dragging the bad knee

I'm trying to think of another bright spot but i guess i need more coffee

TB used a bunch of quick crosses and seam routes successfully

did the Eagles throw one even once?

Mark the calendar, i couldn't agree more.

There is no way a HC is gonna ignore a weapon like Sanders 9 carries 56 yards 6.2 ypc

How do you ignore that?

This wasn't a problem the last few years for you though.    Was is because you couldn't blame the coach ( who you " called " was going to be great) and were also focused on blaming the QB for everything but the Kennedy assassination?

Now 12-26,with panicking behind the line and awful throws downfield is because we need to run the ball vs the best run defense more?     😆

Good plays on opening drive to score 7. Then the next drive Reagor just failed to concentrate dropping a dart from Hurts on third down. Hurts missed Ertz on third down to kill the third drive. Hurts threw a deep pick where Watkins was covered in what was an easy read formation for the D. Watkins jumped to early. Reagor couldn’t hold on to the catch where the defender was pass interfering all over his back.

Thats how I saw the first half go down. Bucs held the ball on methodical drives all game.

Dart? I saw no darts(let alone lasers) from Hurts. In fact on one play I even mention you CANNOT throw a 5 yard rainbow sideline pass, which the defender easily knocked away because he had time to do it

I have the IV in

Seth Joyner figured it out, but for obvious reasons put the " maybe " on it...     " if this high school offense is what they feel works best for Hurts, then they should be looking for a new QB"

Run Miles Sanders and some offense was created. Novel concept.

Their big DT was out of the game and they were playing their D a little differently.  Don't get fooled.

Doug refused too... wonder why?

SO here is what frustrates me(and as a long time fan this is a first for me and i will explain). SO, TB penalties got us into position to score and we DID. Nothing wrong with that. That's what is supposed to happen. Make them pay for blunders. That there are a few rare times, when I see coherent football from us. At times Hurts looks sharp and I get my hopes up. Then we go through a long stretch of I will just call WTF where is just one incoherent play after another or a coherent play call that was poorly executed. The I go back to "gawd we suck".That lasts awhile and then I may see another set of coherent plays which gives me hope. I don't ever recall this back and forth, either we sucked all game or we played coherent ball even if we lost,so this back and forth is new to me

IDK if he is our best weapon,we have NICE WRs now which we have lacked for awhile. Until that one play in the 4th  your #1 draft pick had 6 yards-SIX!!!! Quez is a definite weapon,as is Reagor. The problem STILL IS,Hurts cannot get them the ball. You simply cannot rainbow a 5 yard pass, even as a non QB I know that much. As a HS tight end my job was to catch those line drive passes. Not tough to defend one that arcs more than my aging back. We also saw many many under thrown balls. We lead these speed guys and we get 6 points EVERY TIME. Hurts is lucky he hasn't been picked more than he already has. I also mention in game why have Sanders or gainwell at all. have Scott and  be done with it and open up 2 more roster spots. No need to carry 3 RB's since we don't give enough plays for ONE even.I don't like the RPO, have stated than many times. I DO like play action(which is similar but the O line plays differently),but for that you need a running game. Fournette had more yards than our entire offense and Brady was hardly pressed into service(it was evident his thumb was bothering him and why they ran so much). I knew we would have lots of work to do on this team and I wasn't expecting alot, but jebus we can't even make fundamental plays and it's sad to see. I really have no clue how we stay in games. Some SLOP "luck" plays is all I see. no consistency(I am fine with even BAD consistency, because then you know where the problems are),but this "we're taking turns at stinking up the joint" has me baffled

sad innit?

On D. there's nothing wrong with playing soft coverage but you can't do it every play for the whole damn game.

You have to mix things up a bit

Offensively and defensively this team is WAAAAAY to predictible.

I guess thats what you get when you hire a 1st time HC, OC, and DC in the same year.

No adult leadership.

Ertz caught a few and Smith in the 4th,but they were rare and if you are into dink and dunk, this would be a mainstay, so IDK what the "concept" is we're trying to achieve here. The concept I see so far is "go out there and wing it guys and see how it goes"

Yep, maybe they look in Hurts eyes, but they had Sanders nailed nearly every time. This QB really needs "rules of QB deception" courses.Other than the constant,"lets try to draw them off sides with a hard count" BS.In fact they had back to back infractions when we DIDNT .IDK it was sad to see how we can't even execute plays you learn in junior high

When we began and Hurts was airing it out, I thought ok maybe we are finally getting this (stupid me).I figured we came out tossing deep to get the running game going(again stupid me). After a few plays we regressed back into the same 5 plays we know,ALL of them based on "whatever Hurts decides to do". I'm sorry,I just don't think this is our QB. I was giving him(like it matters) until week 8 or 9, but I see ZERO growth. He plays just like he did last year when he was pressed into service. I have seen no development as a QB. Maybe it's just me. But I'm not giving him until week 8 anymore if I am the coach. I feel this team can win some games if we had coherent QB play and I just don't see it coming from Hurts no matter how much time you give him. I needed to see steps toward improvement and for me they just aren't there. we were so bad the Bucs didn't even kick a FG at end out of mercy. That was a HUGE slap in the face because they didn't want to embarrass us in front of the home crowd IMO.That told me how BAD we are

SOOOOO let me toss this out for discussion. We signed Flacco early on. We could have picked up any number of journeymen #3's,but didn't. Then we got stache. So why did we do that if we had Flacco already? Minshew basically had to run for his life in Jax also. In fact I think we have a better Oline than he was used to.So why did we get him if we had no plans for him? He's not an antique and IMO he is better than Hurts.if Hurts wants to keep learning that's fine(I dont see it but still..) These young WR's need to know they have a future(here or anywhere) and IMO we simply don't have the QB play for them to improve. Stache would have arguably better WR's then he had in Jax with a better O line. IDK how long siri(or Howie) is going to drag this bad QB play out. Well I guess I DO if Wentz was a gauge. If that holds, we will wait until week 12 or until the fans just stop showing up at the Linc. IDK why some coaches have a problem pulling even GOOD players having a BAD game.it happens, but you need to win THAT game. What I see from Hurts is.....Taysom Hill 2.0. So what is everyone opinion about how long we let Hurts "hurt" this team. I mean overall hurt, and how much longer until they stop believing? The TB secondary was the place to hit them and we couldn't do it. All I am seeing is a rewind of 2020 with a different name at QB who by all accounts doesn't even have the skill set of the 2020 QB Wentz. So how do you get better doing that????

But nothing is ever bad all the time.   Even last year had times when they scored.    Consistency is the difference between bad, medium, good.. etc.  Brady doesn't do anything special, his greatness lies in his Consistency.

Hurts will make some throws every game, just not enough on most nights.  He is a consistent runner though, his best skill.  Having Tampa D in multiple leagues,  he sure was tough to sack.    That is enough in amateur ball, just to be able to run away from the inferior athletes.  51 yards is good enough to throw the ball.  Also he can get away to his right any time he wanted... now,  Tampa's LB White said in the post-game, " we knew he likes to run, we know he likes to run right"     ... we shall see now, how he handles defenses that figure this out and make it hard for him to run right.    A weak armed right handed QB will have trouble rolling left and the O will struggle if they make him do it a lot.

I'd love for a reporter to ask if Siri is being forced to not run the ball.

Figure the odds of that happening.
